  • Which is the gentlest way to throttle an open scooter?

Dear Community, I address myself to you with the following concern: For some time now I have observed that my completely unfrozen, but depleted Piaggio Sfera 50 produces ever higher speeds, which should definitely be outside tolerances. When I acquired the scooter, I had it completely inspected by an experienced mechanic and he only realized that the variomatic ring has been removed (as the previous owner has already explained to me). At this point the scooter ran according to GPS 59 km/h. Since I never ride faster with the scooter than the allowed 50 km/h anyway and it is not particularly noticeable due to the “old-fashioned” design, I took this slightly higher speed provisionally. However, when I tried the top speed on a free country road a few days ago to check whether the scooter does not lose power, my GPS showed me exactly 70 km/h. It is a rake for me. In any case, I wanted to ask you which method would be most effective in reducing the scooter back to a maximum of 55 km/h (including tolerance) without significantly reducing the life of the engine. To install a distance ring is probably the easiest option. However, I have often read that a scooter throttled over the variomatics much more often than not. u achieves high speeds and the engine and the gearbox wear out strongly. Which procedure could you recommend to me as a layman in this regard? I would be very grateful for helpful answers. MfG

  • Long-term preservation of a moderately rusted exhaust

I wish you a good day! Today I am facing the topic of exhaust system of my dear Kleinkrads. I am about to get this long-term, as it is also the original plant. Unfortunately, the rust makes a dash of my calculation. The question for you is therefore: Has someone already had their experiences with it? Is there an all-miracle cure or do you have to pick out the best for your needs? For the context: I drive very often with my R great, even if you don’t necessarily should. So I find myself on wet, dirty, or stony terrain again. I hope you can offer me here the one or other option and I thank micb in advance for any answer! With best regards

  • Aprilia SR50 LC Morini Carburettor 2 Bar Compression made all new

Hello dear community, after a longer service life in the outside under the balcony of 5 years of the Aprilia SR50 with Morini engine (carburetor model) I wanted to make my scooter fit again. The old piston had a screw, then I decided recently to install a 70cc set of Airsal. I installed everything correctly. The scooter had exactly 2.3 bar compression before the cylinder change and after the cylinder change (complete kit). The engine block has never been split. The carburettor was renewed (dellorto 17,5). And the shaft sealing rings Vario-side and Lima-side were renewed. The engine does not generate enough vacuum to suck in mixture. The candle stays dry. If I pull with the mouth on the vacuum hose, then the fuel runs into the carburettor. I already let it run full, but that didn’t work, because the vacuum from the crankshaft housing is simply not enough for the Gemis When I kick then no fuel runs through the petrol hose. I’m really at a loss. I can run it for a few seconds with the start pilot. It rotates for a short time and then the speed increases immensely. So it has to pull out some wrong air somewhere. I hope you can help me. Thank you very much! Greetings MPowerr

  • Turn signal, E-starter, horn and brake light no longer work

Good day, I have the problem that with my scooter (Kreidler China 2 Stroke) the turn signals, the horn, the E-starter and the brake light with switched ignition no longer work. As soon as the engine runs (E starter relay with screwdriver over –> So can’t be the battery) the horn and the brake light and the normal light without problems, the turn signals do nothing again. I honestly don’t know what it is because I had everything apart today and all Ka In addition, I have to say that colleagues had unnecessarily removed my ignition lock cable, after that the problem started. But actually it can’t be related to it, can it? It’s on it again. The scooter somehow didn’t find any fuses, at least in no form.

  • Scooter no longer pops up

Hello together, I have a problem with my scooter, I wanted to make a round yesterday with the scooter, but he just didn’t want to start (he stood up for 3 weeks) an acquaintance gave me the tip to spray some brake cleaner in the intake nozzle of the air filter. Did the scooter worked also quickly again and I drove about 30 KM far. Today I wanted to drive again, but the scooter does not start again, so again with brake cleaner tried, and it works What can be the reason why the scooter now does such problems? He hasn’t done that for the whole years. It’s not in the sense of the inventor that I have to screw up the air filter every time and I have to spray in the brake cleaner so that the scooter starts. I hope you can help me here Eh I forget, the carburetor was cleaned in August, and spark plug is new and also not damp the problems he makes only since it got cold and wet outside n.

Currently I despair something and would be happy about tips to get it to run again. – Carburettor was cleaned (was properly dirty) – Ignition spark available / new candle – new membrane block – candle is wet so petrol is there – compression is measured between 5,5 – 6,0 bar here there are many opinions whether there is good ode r is bad ??. Have removed the exhaust to see the cylinder once. Can you see something? Despite brake cleaner he gives Nix of himself. Summary: Despite air, gasoline and spark = NIX Thanks in advance and a nice Sunday

  • Speedfight 4 lc goes off after a short drive

At my speedfight 4 Lc the oil hose was defective therefore the crankshaft had eaten. I have now installed a new Kw and new bearing. Since I was not sure if the cylinder also got what had been replaced also immediately. All seals of course also. So now the following problem: Roller runs great on and also nice in the stand gas. As soon as I drive it the speed goes after a few meters in basement and it goes out. He gets fuel, and the carburettor h The problem that it runs out after a short drive, however, still exists. What irritates me a little is that the carburettor cannot be adjusted, that is, it does not react to the mixture harvest. No matter if in or out it does not change at the speed. Does someone have a tip on what this could be because slowly no longer know what I could do? Thanks for e your help

  • Vespa GTS 125 “Super Sport” or Yamaha X-Max 125 ABS

So, 2 years ago I wanted to get a Vespa or a Piaggio MP3. But then I couldn’t decide and let the topic rest. Now the desire to ride the scooter comes up again and I am again superior, from the MP3 I already said goodbye mentally (too heavy, too expensive and for my purposes (pure city driver) not profitable) for this I like with a Yamaha X-Max 125 ABS. The Vespa is still purely optically a dream. Now I can wi eder do not decide and hope for your experiences with these scooters. Which is better for the city, the larger wheels of the Yamaha are an advantage, etc. Ask for experiences or suggestions. lg from Vienna Copykill2012
