  • Allow scooters as motorcycles with motorcycle insurance

Hello, I bought a used (built before 2000) 100 KW scooter, whose 80 Km/h throttle was removed and registered. Is there currently a difference in registration/insurance between an 80 Km/h scooter and a more than 80 Km/h scooter?

  • Tips or advice needed to buy new 50s scooter – Recommendations ?

Good evening, I need a little help regarding a new purchase of a small 50’s scooter. Since, it seems to me, many users are here with expertise, and I have hardly any idea of the topic, I hope to be able to get here tips or recommendations for a new purchase. I am looking for a small 50’s scooter, which must be very reliable. The vehicle is driven daily about 15 to 20km. Sometimes longer distances (8-9 km) but also shorter paths (1-2 km). Important: I have hardly any idea of the technology myself, so if necessary maintenance / repairs depend on the only workshop available on site for such vehicles. This is not a dealer for motor vehicles but only a dealer mainly specialized in bicycles, who also offers scooter service in the workshop. So it should become a vehicle with which also a simple operation can be managed, especially what this procures. In addition, it is planned to use the vehicle also 10 years or more. I think that a brand car (such as Piaggio etc.) would be more useful, no special offer from the hardware store for example. In addition, I ask myself further questions: 2-stroke or rather 4-stroke model ? prefer disc or drum brakes (also with regard to maintenance/tausch) The appearance should not be too lifted (so no zig colorful stickers etc.) but rather neutral. ss an existing top case can be mounted. Therefore, the holder should be available/available. Budget is approx. 2000-2500 Euro, if what is extremely good also costs almost 3000 Euro, this would be possible. I hope that a suitable vehicle can be found. If there are further questions, just ask.

  • Expand handlebar lock/handle lock

Hello, I would like to pick up a Sym Fiddle on the weekend, but unfortunately the seller no longer has the keys and the handlebar lock is locked in. Because I hate to lift the scooter onto the trailer, but rather push it over a ramp, I want to extend the ignition lock on the spot. Can someone give me tips which tool to take with me? Are these locks screwed or rented? Best regards, Lucas

  • Understanding question about STVO – Roller Bussgeld Beverly 125ccm

Hello, dear people! I am 60 years old and since 2003 owner of a Piaggio Beverly 125 ZAPM281. I love this scooter, which I have ridden a lot of kilometers and which, however, is always outside because of lack of garage also in winter. This spring I wanted to install the freshly charged and wintered battery in the bathroom. This failed because somewhere in the Bowden trains and various joints from the lever in the glove compartment to the lock of the bench a bit stuck and nic (had asked for help here in the forum, unfortunately there was no advice here, nor did the Piaggio dealer of my trust. the first Bowden train up to the seesaw of electric activity is at least manageable). Since it is not economically possible for me at the moment to pay for a necessary repair, after having opened forcibly and destructively body and/or seat lock, the scooter is standing…… Thank God – so I assumed – the scooter is standing. On private grounds (shared property of the residential complex). Our house regulations state that only registered vehicles may stand in this parking lot. Therefore, I did not see any problem in leaving the insured but TÜV-fallen scooter in this private parking lot. It was moved in 2017 not a meter and therefore can not go to the TÜV. Today – to my horror – I find in the mailbox a hearing on the bus allowance procedure because of several months exceeding the TÜV date.. … How can that be? Who knows? Who knows the legal situation? Thanks in advance for relevant answers. LG Klaus-Peter from Hamburg

  • Derbi only accelerates less until half-gas after that.

Hi, I took over a scooter. Derbi Boulevard 2T 50ccm I made a new candle in, air filter changed but I am at the end with my barely existing half-knowledge. It accelerates uphill only moderately, at approx. 25-30kmh the fun is over and much worse; it accelerates to approx. half-gas normal, if you continue to spin you think it sucks off, but recovers very slowly when you stay at full throttle. The spark plug looks brown if that is important. I do it to make it work as rational as it should? And what else do I imagine, or can it actually be that it is running much better on hot days than on cold ones? I hope I could express myself intelligibly enough. Alternatively – if there is someone from the Reutlingen area and the surrounding area who can / would like to report this.

  • Piaggio TPH 50 bought, now he’s draining

Hello, dear community, I am an absolute layman with regard to scooters. I bet I have a problem that will be easy to solve with little expertise on your part. I bet this topic was also bought through x times, but unfortunately I find nothing concrete about a TPH 50. I bought a scooter earlier. 2000 Piaggio TPH 50 with 7000 km on the clock. Test drive, all excellent. took off to the bank money, made clear at the colleague’s short mark and drove at home with the part……thinkest.. …on half way. more precisely, it went downhill and then uphill (underpass). daa he is drunk for me. e starter didn’t work, kickstarts x times tried, then he came. he ran a few seconds, then he was out again. I asked for it all the time and tried. brought nothing. then I got to the seller, who of course doesn’t want to take the scooter back (private sale). He gave me a tip: open the tank cover and start. Look, he jumps again, even with e starter. Can you do something with this? I read about rollers always clean carburettor etc. would you recommend it to me? I’m absolutely lay, I have to work on Monday daamit. but I’m afraid that he’ll leave again after 5 minutes. I’m grateful for every advice…. d_rocc44
