Dear forum, the following starting situation: car: BMW 316d from 2010, 233,000 km on the clock, approx. 20,000 annual output4 x new all-year tyres: Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons G2, all-year tyres, 205/55 R16 91H3 x used winter tyres with approx. 5-6 mm profile: NOKIAN WR D3 205/55 R16 91H One of the winter tyres had a nail in it and the friendly one told me that it was not to be repaired (nail too much on the edge). Accordingly, I only have three intact winter tyres. and: 1) Continue with GJR in winter and sell the WR 2) buy 1 or 2 new WR and change to WR completely in winter 3) In winter with a mixture of 2xGJR and 2xWR Option 1 I don’t like it, because then I would have to buy completely new tyres at 277,000 km and for the WR certainly hardly get anything. Option 2 I don’t like it either, because I have to invest in new WR now and just bought the GJR. Option 3 is therefore my current preference, as I at least do not like it, since I have to invest in new WR now and have just bought the GJR. two of the WR could still use one or two winter periods! Can I do it like this? Does any of you have experiences or recommendations for me? On which axis are the GJR and on which the WR? Safety and driving behaviour is of course not unimportant to me, so I am also a bit critical with Option 3. However, I live in the north and drive almost never stronger climbs. Many thanks to you in advance! PS: With the SuFu I could unfortunately only find very old information and also not too the concrete situation!

Profile resolution on new tyres?
Today I noticed profile resolutions on my winter tires, am absolutely speechless, since the tires are not mounted for 2 weeks and are brand new It is Yokohama W.drive V903, all 4 tires DOT 1615, Made in Philippines. Dangerous distance so far about 300km, of which 180 AB, rest city. No high speeds, as those were mounted on our Clio. Air pressure is minimal above factory specification, VA 2,4, HA 2,2 bar. Notable also, that it seems to concern only the rear axle. nks quite strong, back to the right less. At first glance everything is in order, for safety reasons but also from the tires times pictures. It also seems to concern only the tire outside. But just look for yourself. Someone has seen something like this before?

Assessment whether tyres/wheels could fit combi
Hello together, I need new tyres for my BMW 420D GC and have a question about this and hope that you can help me. I have the following rim:https://www.atu.de/…/aluett41146?… 225 tyres I get on without registration, but I would like to have the front 225er and the rear 255er (as in the summer). As a tire the Pirelli SottoZero3 comes on it. Now it says that this has to be taken off and at ATU it is said that this costs between 50-100€. the seller, that with the rims/tires combination, it will definitely become a single purchase and that is significantly more expensive. I also heard that this should fit. Now I am a little confused and wanted to hear your assessment. Sure, nobody can guarantee me anything here, but share the seller’s assessment that with the rims/tires combination on my 4s an expensive single purchase with possibly carroserie work etc. will be necessary, or the seller must TÜV reviewer probably only look at it and will approve it. Thanks and best regards n3

Combine winter and all-year tires
Hello, since I drive only about 5,000km per year (mainly rural road) I drove all year round with winter tyres from 2013. The car is a Honda Prelude BJ97 Now the tyres are much more driven at the front than at the back. At the front are still about 3-4mm profile on it and at the back 6mm. Could I then replace the tyres at the front with all year round tyres and continue with the winter tyres at the rear or would it be bad or completely forbidden? I think that I drive the car still about 3 years The Tüvprüfer was already enthusiastic about this.

Conti TS850 Spongy – DOT2412
Today I had “new” Conti Wintercontact TS850 in 205/55 16″ put on by the tyre dealer. Of course I assumed that it was new from this year, when I picked up my car, I unfortunately had to find out that it was from mid 2012 according to DOT number. I had previously asked about the tires here in the forum and read that there were some problems with a spongy driving feeling 2012. If you think the problem was explicitly due to the TS850 from the 2012 production year, Or the car on which they were mounted. Would you go to the dealer and complain?

Winter 2013/14 – Sammelthread: With which tires are you on the road, what experiences do you have?
I hope it’s not too early for that, otherwise I will bring the thread up from time to time. I would like to find a collection thread in which we list the tires we drove and, if necessary, report on the experiences we had with them very interesting and would be happy if you would join us! The thread can then gradually be supplemented.

Aluminium rims properly stored in the shed Summer+Winter
Hello now because I have proper rims, these should also be stored properly. Unfortunately, there is only the possibility to put the tires in a shed. In the room it is about as warm/cold as outside. In the summer it is pleasantly cool, because the room has only 1 small window and therefore is quite dark. I would say that there is a high humidity. In the shed wood and electric scrap is stored. The tires are tapped on a kind of chest of drawers. I thought to myself: – increase air pressure a little – clean properly – scrape stones from the profile and maybe such tire bags as protection? What do you think about it? Or how do you store your tires in your shed?

Winter tires still rideable for this winter?
Hello, when changing the tires yesterday I noticed that the WR are older than I had in my head. According to DOT-NUmmer (5105) already 8 years! :O There are Barum Polaris 2. The profile is still about minimum profile depth but you can see clearly that they are worn out and what worries me: In one place a approx. 2 cent large piece is missing… about 2 mm deep, here a picture for clarification:http://abload.de/thumb/20131109_1605012nkuk.jpg Here in the close-up you can also see g ut that the tire I think is at the end of its ZEit:http://load.de/thumb/20131109_163045fmsul.jpg Do you think I can still drive with it this winter? I don’t live in the Alps or something, rather flat but at least 4 times a week I have to drive 150km with it… Unfortunately I just lack the money to get four good (if I want to have reasonable tyres) winter tires. Ginge at the earliest in December…

Goodyear ultragrip 8 loud rolling noise?!?
Hello, I’ve been installing the new Goodyear ultragrip 8 for about 3 weeks! Had to test all kinds of road surfaces. On the whole the tire is really top!! Only one thing I noticed negatively: On wet road surfaces one hears the rolling noise of the tire very loudly when the vehicle accelerates, I think that the new gearing technology of the tire is to blame. I am generally quietly used to mature from Goodyear :-/ (UG7+) Have a 2nd new set au fn another car mounted(there the same) On the other hand, the tire is really top! I also noticed the narrow construction of the UG8. LG
