  • Tired the story wrote…..??

Moin there are some tire brands and models that were groundbreaking or simply wrote history like for example the first belt tire name Michelin X or the wide tire poineer Pirelli P7 which do you still think about that….?? Wide tires of the 70/80s –> P7 mfg Andy

  • Grinding tires on the KOtflügel

Hello, I’m driving an A4 convertible from 2008. 09 I had the car laid 30mm finer and had 9jx19 235/30/19 mature. At first everything wonderful, now after about 1.5 years the tire sets up at the rear right (at the tank) at the smallest floor shaft already. I have now about 4 weeks like that. Has someone a tip(spring seems to sit properly) or something similar already had. I would also be very grateful for an address of a good bump doctorbecause of the tires already a kle ine Delle pressed into the fender back. Thank you in advance greeting Uwe

  • Old tires sold as new (2nd choice).

Hello together, I’m just facing the following problem: Especially when changing tyres, the tyre dealer says to me that I would urgently need new summer tyres next year. – I was totally amazed because I bought the last year summer (2011) first a set of new tyres (Bridgestone) from another dealer. – He laughed loudly and said that the tyres are already 12 (!!) years old and showed me the production date – I as a woman have never been out of it so far set differently – it reads : 5000. I bought the tires last year from the tyre dealer on site as 2nd choice tires, they told me that Bridgestone sold the tires then as 2nd choice if the logo is wrong printed. Or you can not read something properly.. – That the 12 or 11 year old tires are there nobody told me!!!! – I have paid after all still enough money for it. – I am just pissed off and short of taking the store apart and with the Anwal t to threaten… – My question to you: Can it be that they had the tires run under 2nd choice and thus I have no chance to achieve anything? They probably thought: Young girl doesn’t notice the anyway (they weren’t quite wrong anyway) I’ll see if I still have the bill at home tonight.. Otherwise I take the tires and bang them with full force in the shop – I can’t use them anyway.. lg and D anke Jellybell

  • Excess consumption 175/60 R15 vs. 195/50 R15

Hello, I love the idea of having my Audi A2 enter me a new tyre size, because 1) there are no current tyre sizes + profiles in size 175/60 R15 anymore 2) or these are very expensive. Now to my question. Do you think there will be an extra consumption when changing from 175/60 R15 to 195/50 R15? How can I imagine this? Is the tire then 2cm wider than the 175? Thank you for your answers! P.S. Who tips regarding manufacturer and type of tyres in d he has size 195/50 R15, please always get out with it

  • Why do many think that they can assess the quality and characteristics of tyres?

Hello together, admittedly a somewhat provocative headline. Here in this and also in other forums as well as in reality I notice that a lot of people have an opinion about different types of tyres; usually starting from their own practical experience with the corresponding brand or the exact type. I always wonder why you can judge the tyres so accurately. I can still understand if, for example, someone has winter tyres and with whom not from Flec k comes or similar and he never had these problems with other tyres. However, such comparisons are rather the exception. Maybe as a frequent driver you still notice differences when the water is on the road. Few of you will probably have made practical braking attempts and compared the braking distance in meters. Many write here always, that the and the tire comes “to its limits” much too early or so. – How please do you notice this in practice? so hard on the limit that you are about to fly out of the curve or how? I always find it a narrow degree between breakout and car still can intercept and fly off. Therefore, I rather avoid testing the limits of driving physics. I at least do not drive into curves with the intent to move the car now at the limit. I do not want to deny that you notice differences in the tires. However, I always wonder why it is everywhere s o gives many “experts” who can judge the quality of the tires or what makes them different in quality. How do you recognize “the limits” and how do you make sure you don’t leave? My question also aims at tyre comparisons of “brand tyres vs. cheap tyres” and “new tyres vs. old tyres”. I am happy about constructive answers!

  • *SOS* Buyers are stressful

hello together! the following problem: at the beginning of last week I sold 200 € winter bikes from my former car. without contract and nothing. he got the bikes, I got the money. two days later he suddenly reported to me that the tyres would be scrapped and he would like to have at least 100 € again. he was at a tyre dealer and he meant to him that he needed new tyres. the insurance would not pay at this profile depth (partially 3.5 mm; otherwise more) if something p because I couldn’t react immediately to sms because of work, even in the evening I was standing in front of my door. I told him that I bought the bikes myself from the car house at the time, where I had the car. that was in the april this year. so I didn’t even ride the winter bikes myself. the salesman said at that time, however, that I could still drive the tyres in all cases a winter. in writing, of course, I didn’t. but that’s not the point. in any case, s He told me per sms that the matures in some places have only 3.5mm profile depth – otherwise more. now I have read that the legal minimum profile depth is 1.6 mm and I ask myself, to what extent he is right to demand money back. does he have that at all? clearly, I could take the wheels back and sell them to someone else. the problem is, however, that I now absag to all other interested parties. t and no longer have a number. besides, he had not inquired about anything in view when buying. I don’t want to stress with the; where he already knows where I live – but to what extent does he have right to demand money back? I would be very happy to reply promptly.

  • Anti-theft screw torn off

Hello, when changing tyres from summer to winter bikes I ripped off the anti-theft screw. The local car dealer then tried it with a tool, whose name I don’t know now – probably the best thing is “outside-driver”. Only on these screws outside a rotating ring is installed, which prevents the use of this tool. He still meant I should have hit the screw with a sling before the release. I didn’t have that. But I don’t know if it would have worked otherwise either. The stupid thing about it is that the key is also over, of course, because the “bart” of the screw plugs bomb-proof inside. For a few tips – if there are any – I would be grateful. Otherwise I have to put the car in a workshop, which welds nuts on the remaining locks then to solve them. You can’t guarantee that the rims are not screwed. Greet Martin

  • Tires from eBay is Platt! What to do?

Hi guys, I bought winter tires on eBay. Profile depth was still at about 7mm and the tires looked good. Now I drove about 500 km and today the tyre pressure control goes on: So I stop and inspect my vehicle more precisely only to determine that the rear tire is completely flat. What could I do now? My car is now in the middle of Wallahei and I am on the immediately proud train driver. I can’t allow myself to order “again” new tires. What could that be? (velvet/screw/nail/…)? Can you fix such a tire somehow? And how can I get the vehicle to the workshop? Towing would certainly be priceless. How much do you think the entire “problem” summarum will cost? Do I have any claims in good faith of the eBay salesman? Thanks for the answers?

  • 19 (!) Adhesive weights on one rim side, tyres with extreme imbalance?

Hello, I had a few days ago at ATU new tires put on 17″Alus. Only now I noticed the enormous adhesive weights on a rim, whole 19 pieces! These adhesive weights are from the roll, all the same size and without gram data. The 19 weights are also glued in 2 rows side by side and about 15~20cm long. From the size it should be 5g per piece. On all other rims are only 2~5 adhesive weights and with the old tires it was also no longer Weights. Can that be, 19x at least 5g would be yes 95g? Can ONE tire sooo have an imbalance that has to be balanced with so much weight? mfg chris

  • Front left of tyre and left of bulge in rear of tyre

Hello, I’m new here in the forum and hope someone can help me. I’m grateful for every good advice. So it’s like that, on Christmas Eve in the middle of the night, on a ride of the left front tires burst, after I had the car rolled out and stood at the roadside, I saw that the rear left tire had a roughly chicken-sized bump. So I changed the tires, so far so good. After the holidays I drove into the workshop to have the track adjusted, because i The fitter said that he had a guess, that he had mounted the tire with the bump from the rim and showed me a damage inside the tire, he also showed me how this damage could most likely have occurred on the tyre moth machine. I went to the sellers of the tires, the tires were only 1 year old and have run up to 7000 km, with the help of the tire manufacturer. I have been asked for a tire insurance and was skimmed off. What can I do? I add a damage picture of the tire inside and the broken tire. Can it be that these damages also have other causes than those described by me? Thank you very much. Dieseldietmar
