Hello, a friend of mine recently had his summer tires mounted (was stored for a fee) and unfortunately had to detect several damages yesterday (see pictures). I don’t really know about this, but apparently the clear varnish peels off. You can peel off the likes of a foil with the fingernails. These are original rims from Audi from 2018. However, they have been repainted several times already, after I park them with the curb In addition (at least currently) only the two rear rims are affected, but the right one is much stronger than the left one. My questions: 1. Does someone know what this can be about? I never used rim cleaners and since they are summer tires, can not be the reason for this. That’s not normal, that original rims have such defects so quickly?! 2. How can one make such a thing better sustainably, so that the problem did not come into contact with us. can this even be a guarantee case? Although the warranty still exists, the rims have been repaired several times, as I said, which could be problematic for the guarantee, right? Thank you in advance!

Banged with tires against curb edge
Hello, I hit the curb edge with the front tires at about 60km/h. You have to replace that 100%, right? You’re annoying me. The tires are freshly bought.

Snow chains on accessories wheels
Hi, I have here an Audi A6 4F (0588 / ABA) in S-Line (so a little deeper) with the following instructions in the operating manual: Quote: The use of snow chains is only allowed on certain rims/tire combinations for technical reasons: rim/ET/tires 7Jx16 / 42 mm / 205/60 7Jx16 / 42 mm / 225/55 7Jx16 / 42 mm / 225/50 Use finely structured with max 13.5 mm. Now my previous owner has thought he needs 18 rims. Therefore I have the following on it: 8Jx1 8H2 / 45 mm/ 225/45 The attached report (RA-000337-C0-015) on rim ABE 45998 states: Quotation: The recipients must be pointed out that snow chain operation has not been tested, unless the use of snow chains is allowed by another edition in the report. I do not see another edition. Can anyone help me what this means for me and my snow chain project? My lay derivation: – The socks are wide just as in the factory hand book – The 225/55 R16 have almost the same wheel diameter as my 225/45 R18 ( ) – That means it should turn around the press-in depth. I am 3 mm further outside. Would I be still far enough away from the fender with 9mm snow chains, because 13.5 mm would be allowed? Thank you in advance!

Tyre pressure again
Servus beinand, have just installed new SR (is still a bit up to the winter). 195/65/R15 91 H. In my tank lidfold stands for my golf 2.0/2.0 or 2.3/2.8. The tyre dealer has bought me 2.5 for all. Probably has some specifications of Dunlop. Since I plan a longer motorway ride for two with some loading (i.e. trunk full, back bench empty) I would like to know how much air I need. Best regards

All valves leak – rim oxidized to valve seat
Good morning together, I wanted to briefly describe my problem to you. My winter tires all lose more or less much air. Where I had to pump up every 4 weeks last winter, the interval has now shortened to just under a week. Yesterday at a tyre dealer or “tire professional”. He informed me that the air loss comes from the corrosion at all valve seats. Very bad… The aluminium rims are still in great condition and super well maintained. My question was whether it would solve the problem and if you didn’t have to repaint the whole rim or at least the place, was directly denied. “This gives you a few years of rest again, with inexpensive aluminium rims it is not worth repainting”. I don’t trust the whole roasting in any way. Why should the new valves not leak again, the problem persists as long as the place is in front of you. Possibly there are still some experiences or opinions here, a few years of rest would definitely be enough for me, if that really lasts so long. I can give a picture of the corrosion in case of emergency, are rust bubbles around the valve. VG

AMG Styling II on Mercedes W210 only with certain tire types?
Hi, I had already asked the question in the Mercedes W210 forum, but maybe the experts can also help me here. I drive a W210 E430 4MATIC from the year 2000. The HU was not granted to me today because the examiner could not/want to register the wheels. Here you will find the part report from the year 2001 for the W210. It is not possible that I drive one of the mentioned tire types according to conditions under 1) in the report (like, they are 23 years old). Individual acceptance would help… Is this topic still relevant with the specific tire types? Is there anything written I can relate to? Currently Goodyear all-weather tyres from 2022 in 235/40 all around, the rims are all 8×18 ET31 (HWA 210 401 01 02) Greeting Homer

New summer tires must be here, 215/40R17. Kenda, Maxxis o.Ä.
Municipality, we need new summer tires for our two VW Polo 6R, once with 90hp diesel 3 cylinder engine and 1.4 16V turbo with 150hp (BlueGT). I’m more the sporty driver, my better half of the cozy part. Since YOU drive no more than 15k kilometers a year due to the low working distance, I’m stuck at the Kenda KR41. This has in one of my I AutoZeitung test ”relatively” taken the 7th place compared to 30 other competitors I mean. Can I tell you about this tyre of a something postive or negative ? Polo BlueGT about 8tkm a year: I myself got stuck at the Maxxis Premitra 5, because it has cut off in an alternative size (235/55R17), GUT at the ADAC with 2.3. From Michelin, Dunlop o.Ä tires I would like to take away due to the excessive price.

Landsail tyres and label values
Hello all, I have currently mounted Michelin Primacy 3 tyres on my vehicle, which will have to be replaced soon. As I do not like the very high rolling noise at the Michelin, I have also looked over the plate and looked for alternatives. Landsail tires were noticed. In addition to the much cheaper price speak for the Landsail LS588 UHP and LS388 which for my size 245/45 R 18 very good label values fuel efficiency B, wet grip B and special rs the low rolling noise with 68 and 69 db.http://www.goodtires.de/…/Landsail-LS588-UHP-245-45-R18-W.htmlhttp://www.goodtires.de/…/Landsail-LS388-245-45-R18-W.html This is better than the values of most “premium” tyres. Does anyone have any experience with these tyres?

Good time to buy a (summer) tyre set
Hello and good day, we have now beginning of January and I need a set of new summer tires until about mid-April. (205/55/R19) What is the price trend of summer tires within one year? When is it best to buy for me as a normal Otto consumer? Do I get summer tires at the best now or can I possibly save one or other euro if I only hit in April when the demand is greatest? Thank youIf it is relevant to the question so barked: Remove tyres from the rims, tighten tyres onto rims, balance them out and dispose of the used tyres is also required. Disassembly and installation on the FZG is NOT required.
