I’m looking for a reason for tyre pressure loss, namely for two winter tyres “CONTINENTAL TS850 205/55R16 91H” mounted on original Mercedes-Benz aluminium rims. Already in the last winter season 2016/2017 there was regular air loss on the front axle mounted wheels. I didn’t find the reason. Maybe bad people who play regularly on the wheels, but only at the front? Unprobably, but possible. Especially since the wheels in the winter season 2014/2015 and In the winter season 2015/2016, I was inconspicuous. A nasty screw made one of the summer tires go out today. As the seasonal wheel change is about to take place, I spontaneously wanted to mount the winter wheels with the said Conti tires, which hung on the garage wall. To my surprise, however, the two front wheels were pressureless, while the two rear wheels were in order. I briefly visited my local free workshop in the place. One wheel had 0.3 bar, the other wheel has It is possible that the wheels lose virtually all the pressure, although hanging on the wall and in accordance with the water bath examination in order, he would never have experienced. If it is possible that the air can escape to zero over several months, at the water level, the air can escape to zero. but doesn’t show anything? Or does anyone have a different explanation?

Which winter tire size for Fabia 5j should I take?
As can be seen in the title, I am faced with the big question, which size should I treat the Fabia in winter? We have the car since April and when I buy it I did not manage to pull off another set of winter bikes from the dealer. Well, the summer is slowly coming to an end and I am looking for suitable tyres for the little one. According to COC papers he is allowed to drive 165/70R14 5×14 ET35 185/60R14 6×14 ET37 195/55R15 6×15 ET43 205/45R16 6.5×16 ET43. In summer he stands on de 195. W 165, 185 or yet 195? 205 is out of the question! Have you ever looked for complete wheels in the net, and the price between the wheels is about 15-20€ per bike. What is better in winter? Same size or rather smaller? And can you recommend a tyre? Have lost a little of the overview with all the tests and offers. Well, if it should be important, the car is moved almost only in the city, and except for a few days with snow, our winter is rather a cold one. ter, wet, long autumn. Stop typical Baltic winter. Thank you for your tips, the_Nordmann

Decision help: Nokian, Pirelli, Firestone, or Semperit?
Hi! Please use a short decision support for my new winter tires. 60/40 motorway – city. 225/45 R17. Weather phased full snow, dry, muddy – actually everything through. I limited the selection for budget & research reasons to: – Nokian WR D3 (the successor should probably be worse) – the new Semperit Speed-Grip 3 (except for the new AMS comparison so far no great experience values/tests. :/) – Firestone Winterhawk 3 (I already had, I found from Sic Is a layman at that time quite good, especially in relation to the price) – Pirelli Winter Sottozero 3 (There the opinions go quite far apart) So. I am a little unsure. The Nokian seems to be a good all-rounder (especially dry very good), wear-wise however stupid. The SG 3 as said too new, one would probably have to orient oneself to the predecessor. Whether this is better than the others? No idea. The Winterhawk makes a solid impression without blatant weaknesses. And the Pirelli sounds for a “premium tire” already very tempting, especially at 90€/tires. There the opinion differ only very far: contradictory results, sometimes far up, sometimes only lower middle field. Price-like competition (Yokohama, Hancook, Fulda, Glue, etc.) I have excluded on account of serious defects. Could you say something about this? LG

Ordinary pressure gauge to check tyre pressure
Hi, I’m looking for a good hand gauge (slim, analog) to quickly check the tyre pressure on the car. So far I only have such a cheap plastic part, which I have got somewhere. This works in itself, but you have to take care of it with the measurement. I was happy to buy something neat from a good manufacturer. Can someone recommend something? Best also with drain valve Then I also look for attachments for valves. the valve, the “claw” is fixed and that’s not always enough to keep it tight. You still have to hold it yourself. Are there also attachments that you screw briefly onto the valve, so you don’t always have to hold on to it with your hand? If so, what’s the name of this? It’s best to be modular. My compressor has a pressure gauge, but I always have to drag the compressor to the car. Would be cool if I could still put a hose on it, with a proper gun + a man often the attachments / hoses are also inseparably connected to the air pressure gun :-\ mfg

Minimise tyre noise
Hello. Ever since then, tire noises have bothered me. Depending on the type of vehicle and its insulation, sometimes more, sometimes less. If I have a new car, I buy new tyres directly. Always the ones with the lowest dB load. The “BOAHR GEIL” effect usually remains out. It’s just nuances. One could also say imagining. With cars that I like otherwise, I’ll reshuffle. How? With bitumen or alubutyl in the wheel boxes. Effect? Is there, but moderate. And is not in proportion to the effort. I don’t know any insulation methods. I’m watching the tire development. Conti has something. Calls itself “ContiSilent”. They promise: “The most beautiful thing about driving: nothing about it.” Sounds good.https://blobs.continental-tires.com/…/…isilent-download-1-data.pdfThe bad thing: there’s no such thing for normal tire sizes. Only in 21 inches. The good thing: More than a layer of polyurethane foam that is glued into the tires is not that. The idea: get this foam (there is, you have to vote), i I don’t ask the question about experience reports. I’m definitely the only freak.=> Answers if my idea has a catch, would interest me against it. I thank you, I’m very much in love with you.

Dunlop Sport BluResponse vs. Nokian eLine – Opinions / Experiences
Hello, maybe I need a new one in the middle of the upcoming summer tyre season – and I’ll take a look around. Needed tyre size 185/60 R15 84T – therefore 84H, 88T and 88H would also be possible without any problems. Dunlop Sport BluResponse (in 84H) – 67 dB, fuel efficiency “B”, rain effect “A” – 80 € net/piece Nokian eLine (in 88T XL) – 71 dB, fuel efficiency “A”, rain effect “A” – 80 € net/piece Both are not at the lower end of the price scale, but rather in the upper midfield, abe r I find it very interesting at the moment. The usual (online understandable) test reports attest to them also quite good driving characteristics. So I would like to know your personal opinions (keyword: Popometer & Co.) on these two tires. Or would someone even advise me off? Just now that I have a few days left – I can’t really decide yet. Thanks already

Wheels trembling, brake caliper balancing?
Servus Forumsgemeinde, I’m frustrated at the moment: Ride a Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake, EZ 12/2015 in first hand. After about 10 months my MB-house changed the brake discs and pads, because of steering wheel tremors when braking on bulwark. For 2-3 weeks I have weighed the steering wheel tremor at approx. 120km/h. Last week tires. No success. Reclaimed, re-examined: “Everything is fine: tires and rims run super without impact”. Again unsuccessful, the tremor is still there. dealer thinks it could be due to an imbalance of the brake caliper. I should complain to Mercedes. Mercedes, but also other manufacturers would have all the problems with it. Be present at the friendly time. I would also be interested in an assessment from the forum. Can someone provide a useful tip? Thank you for your efforts. NG Jürgen

Summer tire 225/40 R18, Grip/Traction
Hello, I am looking for summer tyres of the size 225/40 R18 for my VW EOS. It would be important to me to have this good grip. Which one can you recommend there? Is it true that the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 is top? Currently I drive the Goodyear EfficientGrip and just hope there are better …

Tyres for caravans
Hello forum, I own an old trailer that is moved twice a year without TÜV at 25Km/h. Now the driver called me and said that there was a hole in a tyre. Now I wonder how I can get it quickly and cheaply. I already had the problem twice in the past. The first time it came out that I could only have a new tyre pulled up at the tyre dealer. That was annoying, of course, considering that the new tyre was broken. eht. The second time I could solve this a bit better and bought 4 winter tires on wheels for a Golf 3 on eBay, which someone only wanted to get rid of. That had then cost only 1€. Now I stand before the problem again, has to get the whole tomorrow and find on eBay just nothing suitable. Now I think about what I could do alternatively and have two ideas: 1. Nen complete bike buy from the car dealer. 2. Nen old tires at the tyre dealer. What do you think about it. thanks for tips and greetings from Hamburg, martin

Summer tire torn – now switch to winter tires?!?
Hello, I have the following question: The day before yesterday a tire (summer tire) is torn, the tires are no longer the best so that I would have to buy all 4 tires new. However, I wonder if it is still worth buying new summer tires this year. My consideration is this: Since I also need new winter tires this year I wanted to change to winter tires now and only next year new summer tires to grow. How do you see that? Does that make sense? Can (there) rf) can you ride with winter tires at temperatures?
