  • Do not find rims with tyres (used to buy)

Moin Forum, Hello my name is Christian and I have a problem with my car me is a tire burst. Now I wanted to mount of course one or two tires, the bursted tire is front right. Now I have bought me by now 3 complete sets of tires…. I have to say, I bought them used and it should also be used because I actually did not have to put a lot of money in the car, it has still 1 year Tüv and that I wanted to drive even to the end None of the tire sets worked, I could mount them all but as soon as I started they squealed….I did not drive any further with it. I then re-assembled the old 3 tires + the spare tire…and the whole thing now already 3 times… With all my cars it has always worked but this makes me mad I have an Opel Astra F Caravan (first registration 1994) In my registration certificate stands for the tires (155 R13 78S) no more… (devalued) registration certificate stand clearly more tires that I can drive…why were not all taken over by the Ordnungsamt in the new registration certificate with ? But on my car are not these tires, I only noticed when the tire broke me that I have other tires on it. On top are: 165/65 R14 So they also seem to fit… Why the used bought did not fit I did not know until a colleague told me that the rims all different inputs now my car is almost on the spot for 2 months… I just want to buy used tires that are on steel rims so I can just change the tires. Now my question to you can you please tell me which tire size would fit with this car model and what I have to pay attention to now with the rims if I am looking for used tires again. That would be very nice because I really have the muzzle full , it just stresses me If you still need any data from the admission certificate etc. then please write it to me, I will then submit the data to you here, since I have no idea what data you need I have not listed any more here. I thank you already in advance, greeting Christian

  • Question about air loss of a tyre

Hello together! Just a stupid question: One of my freshly mounted tyres loses air. However, the pressure loss seems to be only up to 1.2 bar. It won’t be less. Does that have to be on the valve in this case or can the tyre itself be defective? I would have thought that if the tyre was broken, the pressure would have to drop even further. Is that right or can it also be that the pressure is kept at 1.2 bar for weeks? It is an A4 convertible with BBS CH009 in 8,5×19 with 235/35 R19 Dunlop RT, rubber valve, front left. Thank you!

  • Saw tooth at the Quattro

Hello, I ride on my A4 3.0 TDI Quattro has the following tyres: Michelin Alpin A5 (Winter) Conti Sport Contact 5 (Summer) Both have now 30 tkm down and I have saw tooth formation (beginnings) on both tire sets. You can feel and hear it. Saw tooth formation after 30 tkm is unacceptable in my view. The following applies to : 1. Track & fall are correct 2. With prescribed tire pressure driven 3. Do not run overloaded 4. Ride about 30 tkm a year long distance. My questions: 1. Si nd Quattro driven vehicles susceptible to this ? 2. How can I prevent this ? 3. Which tire does not do this ? I hope you can help, because this noise is very annoying and I do not want to have to buy all 30 tkm new tires. Hope you can help..

  • Maxxis SnowBreak from 2009 on winter vacation?

Does one of you know this manufacturer? On the internet it says that this is a “classic China brand”, but many people also seem to be satisfied. The tyres were present as winter tyres at my Ford Mondeo MK3 and come from 2009 according to DOT. Cracks or other mistakes do not have the tyres. From the profile they are still almost like new. In 4 weeks there is already a lot of snow in the Allgäu and there is already a lot of snow there. That winter tyres can not do much with ice cream is clear, but how Does it look like it’s in the snow with this brand?

  • New tires on which axle?

Hello, I bought 2 new summer tyres. The other two are still OK with approx. 5mm profile. Now I wonder which axle I should mount the new tyres. Greetings. Sebastian

  • Tyres unevenly driven

During the tyre change yesterday I had to find out that my front tyres already left after a summer (about 40 tkm). However, very uneven, in the middle is a “wave” and on the inside they are at the edge down to zero, the rest still has about 30%. I haven’t seen such a pattern yet, does someone have an idea what it can be? The rear tyres still have about 70%. Vehicle is a golf 6, year 2012, 316 tkm, tires Conti SportContact5 215er, 17 inch (I don’t have exact dimensions right now), Produced 41KW 2016.

  • Rim repair useful?

Hello, yes, I didn’t deal well with the rims. At the entrance to an underground car park from the felt 60s I didn’t get the curve well enough, the lane was probably for beetle width and came with three rims to the curbs / track to the right and left. Then the rims also clapped on the polished side and it came to paint-places. The rims, 18″, cost per piece 145 €. Question: Is there any repair worth it? Because I want them I don’t have any experiences with the subject. I have two left hands for this (self-direction). So it’s a question of the price. Otherwise I would try to cover them for “small” money to interested hobbyists via classified ads. The two rims on the right side of the car were the worst hit. The photos are in the row. . Total, worst area from close up and rim center. Bordstone rempler did not exist. So I did not plan on edges. The rims have no imbalance. Look forward to your assessments.

  • Dunlop/Conti – why so big differences between EU labels and tyre tests?

Hello, a question in the round: For the next Seat Ibiza my partner will be ordered new winter bikes in the next weeks. After studying the relevant tire tests I only took the two best class (185/60 R15) into the short choice – Conti Winter Contact TS 850 and Dunlop Winter Response 2. What makes me ponder – where do you think the at least partially contradictory “reviews” from the EU label and the usual tire tests come from ( ADAC, etc.)? I put together… *************************** Conti EU label: – rolling resistance/fuel consumption class E, wet grip class C, external rolling noise 71 dB ADAC tyre test (similar to other tyre test): – fuel consumption grade 1.8; wet rating 1.9; noise rating 2.8 ******************************************************* Dunlop EU label: – rolling resistance/fuel consumption class C, wet grip class B, external rolling noise 67 dB ADAC tyre test: – fuel consumption Note 1,5; wet note 1,9; noise note 3,1 ******************************* According to the EU label the Dunlop looks much better in the tested categories – the corresponding values in the tyre tests do not indicate this (clearly)… Conclusion: Who can be trusted here more?

  • On which axle should I mount my new tyres? Old tyres are only one year old

Hello dear forum members, I am very new here and I would like to ask a question, where I would be very grateful about tips. I ordered two new summer tyres for my Opel Astra G Caravan 1.6 today. It is the Vredstein Sporttrac 5 with normal groove profile. Last summer I already bought two new summer tyres of the type Vredstein Sporttrac 3. However, these have a V-profile and were mounted last year on the front axle. Since my car At the moment these are now on the rear axle. Now I am already thinking all day about whether I should now mount the new tyres on the front or the rear axle. Actually I wanted to make the new ones on the front axle, but I also read a lot in the forum about the fact that the rear axle is more important. However, since the tyres from last year are also quite new, w I’d like to ask you what you think about mounting the new tyres also the front axle and leaving the rear one with the V-profile on the rear axle.. I planned this so, because in case I mount the V-tires again on the front axle an ever-increasing profile difference between the “old” and the new will occur. Is it also more useful to mount the V-profile at the rear or rather at the front? About answers and tips I would be very grateful to you and would like to ask you h very happy, thanks already and many greetings Robin
