  • 225 instead of 235 – registration required?

Hello together, I have a few new 225/45 R17 Goodyear UltraGrip Performance 2 in my garage. Mounted on original Audi rims TN 8e0601025as8z8http://www.original-felgen.com/8e0601025as8z8.html Now I would like to drive them on my A4. Since the COC papers only indicate the tyre size 235/45 R17, I have contacted Goodyear if they release the tyres for my car and get the attached document. As I see this is no problem for Goodyear. My Fra ge, do I have to register the tyre size separately with the TÜV? Would that be an individual acceptance, what would that cost me about? Thank you for your help! PS: Incidentally, can recommend the tyre without restriction

  • Year-round tyres or summer tyres in winter?

Hello guys, I can’t decide. I made the mistake of equipping my Audi A6 4B 2.4 with all-year tires (Goodyear Eagle Vector+). They were down at some point and I didn’t know how long I was driving the car (Bj 2001, 185,000km), so I bought the same one again. They’re down now and I have to decide: 1) Do I take a proper Continental summer tire and drive it in the winter? I don’t know how the grip is. 2) Do I take a tyre? the other GJR from Hankook (Optimo4s) and hope that the one is better than the much-praised Goodyear? 3) Do I take another set of Goodyear? The option Winter tires fall away for me, because I would now pay 550 euros (205 he, index V) and in March 550 for SR again and the car would probably sell in 1.5 years and would have put the 1000 euros more or less into the sand. I get the car 8 times tyres not better or more expensive than sold with GJR on it. The decision f It’s hard for me, because I was never completely satisfied with my GJR. Although this applies ONLY to the areas of rain/wet/snow mud, but it’s bothering there. At high speed beyond the 200, the tires summer and winter are really good. I’ve been driving it for 5 years without an accident. So what do you think: a) Will the Hankook be better than the GY? b) Or will the summer tire be the best solution? Or is that in the case of snow undriving? I know, seasonal tyres are better, I see it as well. even as a mistake that I took the GJR back then, but I want to drive the car for 1.5 max. 2.5 years.

  • Simply replace tires or better two sets of rims?

I have an imported vehicle with 235/65R17 tyres on 17×6.5JJ rims. On the rims are still all-year tires, which I definitely want to replace through winter tires. I wanted to raise the all-year tires in the following summers until they left, and then switch to summer tires. Since I have only one set of rims, I would like to know from the community whether it is generally bad for the tires if they are always on and off again. It is advisable to buy a second set of rims, so that when changing winter/summer or summer/winter, only the wheels have to be replaced? If you generally have no concerns to keep removing the tyres from the rims, I prefer to stay with a set of rims. By the way, they are stink normal tires, not runflats or something like that. The original rims are not available in Germany.

  • Year-round tyres vs. cheap winter tyres

Hello, I bought a used car that already has winter tires on it. However, it is cheap Chinese Sonar winter tires. Profile is no longer 1a, but still good. I don’t like the tires, funny driving feeling, somehow spongy. With my old car I had summer and winter tires from Firestone. I found them great. Unfortunately I can’t raise the tires, but have different size. Now I found used all-year tires from Goodyear. Ic h knows that all-year tyres are actually nothing half and nothing whole. I live in central Germany/Flachland and do not drive on winter holidays. Are the all-year tyres of Goodyear possibly still better than my winter tyres of Sonar? Is the purchase worthwhile? I don’t want to let new winter tyres be pulled on because 1. I actually have winter tyres and 2. the prices are currently quite peppered. Thanks.

  • Test new tyres before auction as new tyres?

Hello, I auctioned 4 new tyres at ebay in an auction. There is still dealer’s or manufacturer’s warranty on the tyres (I still have the original invoice). DOT is 2811, was also indicated in the auction. Since I wanted to check if everything is fine with the tyres before the sale (since I always exclude the exchange, withdrawal, liability for defects in property), I mounted the tyres on rims and drove about 100 km with them. There is an imbalance, loud running noise and steering wheel flaps, which was not the case. Of course, the tyres still have the original new tyre profile height of 8-9 mm. I sold the tyres as new with the description “Ware is checked before shipping”. The selling price was 323,- Euro + 40,- Euro shipping. The currently cheapest new tyre supplier at ebay and Google/Shopping is 500,- Euro for this tyre set. The buyer complains now that a tyre has an imbalance (was with not me!), so the tyres have already mounted on rims! And criticizes that the tyres are “not new” but have at least 1000 km down. How would you act? Would you take the tyres back? (The problem is that the shipping costs are 40,- Euro each time) I offered him that he can claim the imbalance with the manufacturer, but for a return I have no interest, especially since he must have already mounted the tyres on a rim to determine an imbalance can.

  • Need new tyres

Hello together, I have found today that my winter tyres are 11 years old. There is more than enough profile available, but I think a change could not hurt (or am I wrong?). The new tyres should definitely be year-round tyres. When comparing on the internet I encountered the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons. Is this a good tire? And what about the Hankook Optimo 4s H730? They are supposed to be relatively bad. And how does it go in de r Workshop off? Is the assembly free when I buy the tires there? And does balancing belong to it? Do I have to pay attention to anything else? Should I leave the used tires in the workshop right away or can I get rid of them somewhere for a few euros?

  • Mounting tires – Which tires on which axle

Hello, here I have to take up the sad topic, which tyres I mount on which axle. By this I mean, if I should now buy a pair of new winter tyres, on which axle should these be mounted in a car with front wheel drive? In the net you find different opinions. Some say that the good tyres should be mounted in front, because here the drive is finally sitting and the tires have to grip well. Others say again, the good tyres at the rear mountie What do you say about this? Please look forward to every contribution and above all to a clear explanation of what is really right now! Thank you and greeting Joe

  • Tyre action by Michelin A4 Alpine

Hello people In October 2010 I bought winter tyres of the brand “Michelin Alpine A4” incl. assembly for €310.-. Lt. seller there was an action by Michelin in the form of a tank voucher worth €30,- Of course it can take (due to strong demand) some time until the GS is sent, I was informed several times. in Feruar 2011 I was informed by Michelin in Karlsruhe that the GS was already sent in October 2010. No GS arrived with me. At the end of February 2011 wu the GS sent a second time and did not arrive again. Now I was informed that the GS will not be sent a third time, because it can be easy that he was stolen. The GS are NOT!!! (as I assumed) provided with a number that only entitles the legal owner to consumption. Moral: It was my last MICHELIN tires So people take care of such activities !!!

  • Marangoni summer tyres

dear community. in advance I ask for attention, but on the mt mobile portal I did not find the sufu. on the topic: looking for summer tyres (for summer, not for now) I came across marangoni e-logic for small and verso for larger sizes. price under or just above china and co and from Italian production you sound very interesting to me. the question is of course, why can be produced so cheaply, especially since apparently no large mature productions t his old technique recycled under this label. inferior quality? bad economist at the top? who has experienced these matures? and – please – there is a difference between experiences (from me also from third hand) and presumptions. it would be very nice and would stand for a constructive and serious exchange of information if this unfortunate phrase ‘geiz is geil’ did not fall. thank you!
