This morning I had craftsmen who arrived with a DB Sprinter incl. all-weather tires. Our farm entrance climbs on a distance of about 2 m maybe 10 cm. The Sprinter had to brake shortly before the entrance. When starting on snow incl. some ice layer the car did not make this “lift” despite the push of two people despite many attempts. My car is equipped with winter tires. The difference between these two types of tyres is extreme. What has caused our politicians to allow the all-weather tyres to be used as winter tires, remains absolutely treacherous to me after this experience.

Strange noises in right curves
Hello together, recently my car (daihatsu Charade, BJ 1992) gives some funny sounds of itself, but only in right turns on the left front tire. For the first time I noticed, after the car was moved for the first time after almost 3 weeks (in the underground garage), in the first right turn there was a knocking and at the same time grinding noise to hear, the faster I drive, the faster the knocking (as if with a bike constantly grinds the brake, because there (sry, it is hard to describe^^)). After a few minutes the noise was gone, when driving the next day it was suddenly permanently there, not only in curves. I then first checked the tyre pressure and put it in order (were 0.1bar too little), after that the noise was gone for a few minutes, but at some point it started again, this time only in right curves. The matures are only a few months old, at and behind the mature is as far as I can judge nothing loose. In the meantime the noise is there, sometimes not there, sometimes louder, sometimes quieter, usually it still occurs in right curves. I would think of the brake at most, but wouldn’t know why the suddenly should start to grind, moreover, it would have to affect the performance, but it is fully there. Can it be on the tire? If someone has an idea thank you already, greeting yes2911

Complain as long as possible.
Hello together, have a problem, today pulled the tires from my rim. Had to find out that all 4 tires have thrown inside bubbles. Can I now claim the parts after 1.5 years still ? From the outside everything is fine ! Profile is still good, etc. Did also only run 25000 km. Gruss Jens

Low-cost aluminium rims
Hi, so far I always had summer tires on the factory rims and winter tires always on steel rims. That’s why I have no idea about Alu rims. With me now after vehicle purchase (Audi A6 4F 2.7 TDI Avant, tires 225 x 16″ the purchase of winter bikes (tires + rims). I plan per steel rim with 25€ plus wheel cap for 10€. Now I wanted to see if it is possible in a similar price region to get also aluminum rims. Do aluminium rims differ in quality? Or is the price determined by the look? I don’t really care about the look, but aluminum rims would be nice Thanks, Bernd

Rim registration obligation
Hello I bought a new car, the Chevrolet Spark with 82 hp. Now I wanted to buy winter tyres with aluminium wheels. Unfortunately I find nowhere exactly the rim size that I would need. According to the vehicle license I can drive this tyre size: 165/60R15 77T. These should be driven on rim : rim 5,0Jx15 ET 45mm. If I pull these now on larger rims, for which an ABE is available, I still need the permission from the TÜV for the rims? 6J15 4×100 ET43 I’ll be the tire size according to the vehicle license, but the rims are not inside :/ I’ve been looking everywhere on the Internet, but somehow there are so many different statements about it! Would be nice, if you can help me further, am still in the probation period and would like to do nothing wrong about it.

Hole in the back tire, patching possible?
Hi I probably have a hole in the tire at the back left of my boxster S, because it constantly loses air. Now I have heard from a dealer that high-speed tyres (V > 210 km/h) are no longer allowed for patching (23€) but you have to buy a new tire. Now I still have a lot of profile on the tire and would hate to put it away. I don’t actually drive over 200 km/h, but give more gas on country roads :-). There should be tyre dealers near me, d he fix the tires despite different regulations. See there a safety risk, if I let it fix and do not drive faster than 200km/h. For such tires repair is allegedly permissible… xenio

Fix winter tires where?
Moin, I had a nail in my WR and would like to have it patched now, yes I know you can be divided about it, but I just want to. To my shame I have to admit that I always have my tyres changed at ATU, but they told me that you should not have the tire patched, but this had only to do with it so that you buy a new one from them .. and don’t do it at all. my question is now, where can you have a tire patched? I ch come from hamburg, can you simply go to helmet, pit-stop, or something like that? the wools even sell the new ones. who can give me tips? thank you!
