  • Wheel nuts

Is this a special feature for aluminium rims, if yes why? Does this have something to do with metal joints (Alu of the rim – steel of the wheel bolt) ? Is there a focus on a particular wheel or a certain car brand ?

  • Impact wrench

Hi, I know it’s the wrong forum but I found a tool forum here net, because I want to change the impact screw but to mature ^^ I thought it might fit in here. There’s a Güde compressor type 300/10/50 with a 50 liter boiler / 10 bar / suction power 250 liters if I remember right, but could look in the garage. Now I would like to give my DAD a blow screw for Christmas so that he has a small toy. a favorable recommendation from you? it is needed just 4 times a year and not every day! But he just has to get along with the small compressor and can also solve a screw. I hope you have an insider tip for me.

  • Do these rims/tires fit?

Hello guys, my brother bought a car from Private about 1.5-2 months ago. There was a set of hardly used wheels with winter tires. He also recently mounted the wheels with winter tires, apparently without any problems. But now he has found that the specifications of the rims differ from those in the vehicle papers. In the papers the following tyres/wheels are listed: 175/65 R14 82 QM+S 5.5JX14H2O37.5 175/65 R14 82 S 5.5JX14H2O37.5 195/45 R16 80 S 6.5JX16H2O41.5 19 5/60 R15 88 S 6JX15H2O47.5 Winter bikes have the following information: 175/70 R14 84 T 5.5JX14H2ET39 I guess the tyre fits itself. But is this a problem at all, that the press-in depth of the rim is 1.5 mm more than the specified 37.5 mm – is it smaller than the possible 41.5 bzb. 47,5 mm? Is this technically permissible or can a damage occur here? Just because he has not noticed any problems (will look even more closely), I don’t know what to advise him. technical is not a problem, so is the approval allowed to mount different wheels in this way? Or would in this case have to have some kind of test report or would it have to be approved by the TÜV? Thank you

  • Too high air pressure sawtooth profile?

Hello, in advance, I think I drive 80% BAB and have increased the tyre pressure a little bit and have 2,8 and 2,9 bar in the front. I notice the consumption already a lot if I have the 2,2 bar of the vehicle or mine on it. I got this tip a few years ago, 2002 was I think, in a driving safety training. Now it was that 2 years ago my tyres became very loud and I already speculated it on a wheel bearing damage, but then I was told that it was a sawtooth pro I took it that way and was logical for me. Then there were a few new ones, they were due anyway and at the back I had to bite in the sour amp and pick up so new ones. After 2 years the whole thing started again, but this time the car went away 😉 Now an acquaintance has been on the BAB again last year, about 35t km also with about the same pressures as me and this sawtooth has formed. Sounds like a trecker already. Now the tyre dealer said it would come from the too high air pressure and not from the, I say driving way. Maybe one of you can help me… Greeting Gregor

  • a little ominous… fat nail was allegedly not seen during storage

Moin, my girlfriend had an incredible experience yesterday when changing winter socks to summer socks in the branch of a large tyre chain for my terms! She arrived at the agreed date in the branch. The customer service employee immediately informed her that a tyre should have been replaced because a thick, long nail was in it. Unfortunately, this would have been overlooked during the storage in October 07 (?!?). Now it would have been noticeable when the tyre was unloaded. One would have found the nail stuck in the tire during the check, classified the resulting damage as irreparable and immediately raised a new one, one did not want to leave it long waiting! Isn’t it nice, right? The tire with the body Delicti was presented to my friend as proof dramaturgically, dramaturgically probably because it was a nail of about 4mm diameter which also stood out at least 3cm, so my Girlfriend. There was simply no other way to act, the tire had to be replaced immediately and without prior consultation. Especially annoying, the tire had just 5Tkm behind it. The story she told me in the evening. Since this story seemed a bit ominous to me, I went to the shop today and asked the clerk why the tire was not repaired, how it could be that such a fat nail was not detected during storage. Antw location: This could happen once that such a nail is overlooked, the tires are not checked when dismantled and stored. Repair was not possible, the nail destroyed the carcass irreparably (how is it then that the air escaped only during the 6 month storage time?), a repair would also be inadmissible with H-tires. Unfortunately, I could not have seen the tire anymore, which would have disappeared already in the container and there would certainly be a Meng e further tires are on top of it Obviously they clean quite a bit on a (almost) whole working day, certainly there were some other similarly stored cases….. Well, looking for a certain tire in a container was too stupid for me. What do you think about the story, already experienced something similar? Greeting diddy

  • Summer tires mounted without centring

Hello, I put my summer tires on it on the weekend. With track plates at the front 5mm and at the back 7mm. At the front everything fits wonderfully. At the back the discs fit on it but the diameter of the wheel was too large. So I mounted the wheels without centrie rings, and today during the ride I found something eating. Can this really lie on the rings, because the discs and wheel lie on plan and are secured with 5 screws, or I have an imbalance in the tire or F Elge. gruss Marco

  • mature/rad-dimension alu, which size allowed? and how?

hello people. have absolutely no idea in the area. and please answer my question regarding the Austrian right. I bought with my used car, 4 tyres with enzo alu rims. enzo-rad type h 15″. the tyres mounted on it are 195/60/15″. on my car, however, can only mature with 175/70R14 (acc. to registration) be mounted. I can now not use the tyres because they are too wide, OR? (i.e. my previous owner has made this legal again). I do to be able to mount them anyway and how much does that cost? many thanks for your help uj ps: car data: subaru impreza BJ00 type/variant: GC/GF, kombi, 1,6 (70kw)

  • Who has experience with vulcanizing tires? How safe are they?

Who of you has experience with vulcanised tires? I saw yesterday morning that I have a screw in the tire, after my steering wheel on the federal road was a bit restless. At the destination after about 12km I saw the air loss, off to the tank and pressed after. I drove this track with about 1,3bar before. The tire man said only from 0.5bar it becomes dangerous for the tire, but which is probably io and also repairable, because it was only a very short scrube, the qu Asi only got through so far that just so air could escape. From inside actually not to recognize the place. Now the tire was vulcanized, but a little murky is already to me, although I was assured that this is as firm as before! Has there already had jmd experiences with it? When I looked at the tire flank yesterday evening, I saw about a length of about 5cm so a “hair crack”, now I know if this was already there before or from the walk The tire is DOT06 and still has a good 5mm. Photo is still coming. The rubber man said the tire is completely io, one would recognize the damage by tissue scraps inside or something. edit: it is a pirelli pzero nero in 195/45/16 77V There are also the spirits, whether one can vulcanize V tires. The first rubber man we can not say because of adhesion etc, two others said this is not a test at all. The little screw was right in the middle in one of the two rain grooves.

  • Accurate speed measurement for rolling resistance determination?

Hello, I ask the question here in the tyre forum, because I am especially concerned with rolling resistance. By rolling out attempts in the plane you can determine the rolling resistance with a car, and the resistance coefficient cw*A. I would like to do that, only my speedometer, especially for the measurement at low speed is not exactly enough, and I had to find out that my Navi indicates the speed too much time delay. Now I am looking for a way, for the experiments Could you read out the ABS sensors? Has anyone experimented with a bicycle speedometer on the car? Could you borrow exact GPS equipment somewhere? Or does someone else know anything else? Thank you, Frieder
