Which vehicles drive 205/45 R17
Hello I had the tires exchanged in Alwetter tires during the young used purchase and took the original 100km running tires Michelin 205/45 R17 88V Sommer Pilot Sport3 and wants to sell them now. The tyre dealer thinks it is a problematic combination that goes very badly. Now my question: Is there a list in the net in which I enter the size and see which cars that are allowed to drive?

Store tires: In the damp basement or outdoors?
Hello… have two ways to store my tires. Maybe someone can help me find the better place to keep the tires as long as possible. The ideal place to store is, to my knowledge, dry, cool and dark. I have a low cellar that is relatively humid. Have measured the following today: 11° C and 70% rel. Humidity. Are 70% humidity too high to store here tyres? Does the moisture damage the rubber or can only rust the rims? Are 70% In addition, I have a small plank in the open air in a parking lot. Here the tires could lie without direct sunlight, but not completely in the dark, because between the planks on the walls there is approx. 2 cm air. In addition, in the case of rain, spray water can enter through the cracks. And here the tires would be exposed to temperature fluctuations. Which place do you think is suitable for the tires?

Dunlop Sport 225/45 R17 after 2 years only scrap?
Hello, during the dismantling of my summer tires, the tyre dealer has found completely abnormal wear on my Dunlops. For all 4 tires there are clear cracks to be detected, which according to him should occur at least at a tire age of 8-10 years… For me this represents an increased safety risk, therefore I will have to replace the tyres with approval up to 300km/h now after 2 years (DOT 1405) although still 5-6mm residual profile would have been available. Would the tires be mounted by someone else? Shouldn’t you even complain about this at the self-appointed premium manufacturer Dunlop?

Tips Wanted: Detach wheel from wheel hub
Hello, today wanted to change the brakes + discs with my 2001 Mondeo, but had to give up, because I absolutely did not get the rear wheels down -,- After simple hammer strokes had not been enough I started spraying the wheel pins + hub with WD40 (in the hope that it would eat a bit) also through the holes of the steel rims I tried to get behind the rim to the hub WD40. After e I lowered the vehicle weight on the wheels with the hope that something is going on here… After this has done absolutely nothing, I set the wheel nuts easily and wobbled back and forth in the driveway but also that didn’t do anything… Do you still have ideas that I can try?!!!!!! One page has already gone off completely, therefore a workshop visit remains out for the time being, had the problem already the mic h didn’t want to let the workshop go again… MfG Mopedcruiser

New tyres 2x DOT4720/2x DOT4218 directly from the manufacturer
Hello Yesterday new summer tires in 235/45/17 97Y XL had to be raised. When I wanted to collect the tire data like DOT, production location etc. for my app for vehicle expenses after the assembly, I noticed that two of the tires were DOT4720, but two DOT4218. After a short discussion/telephone call from my workshop directly to his supplier, who runs a tyre trade/workshop himself and he changed the “old” for new ones and also without additional costs (The alternative would have been 30 CHF impact per tire. The problem is that I distribute my annual kilometers on 3 vehicles. To do this, then on a set of WR or SR, so that the tires become rather old/harden before they went down. That’s why tyres of newer production were more valuable to me than the price discount) The tyre dealer assured me with confidence that the tires are directly from the manufacturer and could not explain how it “old” from the manufacturer. He had ordered all of these, had no old stock in stock. He ordered and received directly from the manufacturer. Old wisdom, it doesn’t hurt to look at it himself…

Undercut the tyre pressure slightly?
Hi, because of construction sites, I have to take a different work path and drive through a small town. The roads are not very flat there and therefore I would best reduce my tyre pressure. I drive a VW Fox with the standard tyres 165/70 R14 and have V 2.1 and H 2.0 bar on it so the pressure according to manufacturer specifications +0.1 more. Mainly I drive max. 100km/h over short sections. The Fox is clearly not a comfort vehicle, but this track is heavy. I would like to try an underrun of 0.1 bar to 1.9 and 1.8 under the manufacturer’s specifications. At 0.2 you say that the fuel consumption should go up and the tires start to suffer from it. The vehicle is empty and will transport 97% only me. So in short: Fox about a little over 1 ton of weight and tire pressure by 0.1 bar under information. Can you do it, or rather leave it and endure it?

Tired crack error when pulling up or curb?
Hello, since I got a new car, the car dealer looked at my current one because of a possible payment. I bought in January 2021 brand new 245er and had it raised, now the examiner from the car dealer found that the rear left is a crack at the edge (did not notice, probably also become a bit bigger over time) , he asked me immediately if the new idea came up and when I affirmed that he was talking about an M days damage by the company which has raised the new tires. Since I was now this morning the same and what I already knew before says the does not originate from assembly errors but curb damage, he then also tried to explain to me that a damage by assembly would have been then a querriss, no matter what he means. Before I drive now to an expert, I ask here, if someone already has something in the direction? In the appendix is a photo.

Tires torn inside/broken, keeps the air (photos)
I don’t ask if and how far/fast I can still drive with it … I’d rather know how that happened/what can cause such damage Yesterday I drove 200+ with it I noticed only a slight imbalance and I assumed a lack of force weight. Well, more luck than reason … [EDIT] Achso … the data on the tyres: DUNLOP Sport Maxx RT 235/45R18 95Y XL DOT4013 mileage about 30,000km
