  • How do I get an ABE – for motor talk newcomers

Hello, due to the lively demand for ABE/certificates for a wide variety of rims, here is a small instruction for problem handling: 1. Open browser 2. Choose any search engine: google.de, google.com, yahoo.de, bing.de,…. 3. Entering “Manufacturer” or “Manufacturer + rim name” 4. Search on the first result page for the rim manufacturer 5. With some luck you will find the report if not, the following: 6. Note the manufacturer’s address 7. Call at the opening time, ni x Email – People usually don’t bite and also not through the phone if no satisfactory result was achieved, the following procedure: 8. Known tyre dealers, who also sell rims, such as Premio, contact, they can usually help if still unsuccessful: 9. The dubious type box, from which one has bought the rims for good money and the ABE demand! if type too strong: 10. Members at motor talk ask for help and drive together to the type and force ABE, de nn this is still more promising than to hope for an ABE here (probability in the promill range – 0,xx%)11. The thank you button is at the bottom right! No claim to completeness. So that the “instruction” always remains nice high up and well visible, occasionally write an answer. Hopefully I can spare some nerves!!!!!!! Best regards

  • Search for good axle trackfinders, Space Erlangen

Hello together, I’m looking for a good axle tracker in the Erlangen area. So one who really takes the time for this and where after the measurement the steering wheel is actually standing straight and the car is driving straight ahead. Had already tested two in the past, however, I have the impression that nobody really takes the time. V. a., to straighten the steering wheel. Would also like to watch … Ride an Audi RS5, but that doesn’t matter. Who knows a good one? Thank you for your help. Greetings Matthias

  • Kumho Ecsta HS51 Autobild Test winner for BMW F31 318dA Reardrive

Hi! I’m looking for new summer tyres and see that these Kumho Ecsta HS51 should be the best according to the car picture. Have 205/16/60 on it and see that in a webshop in Croatia there is extremely cheap for 50 Euro the 205/16/55. Can they be mounted even if these 5mm are smaller? Has anyone already driven this Kuhmo Ecsta HS51? Thank you Slashchat

  • Piped sound All-year tires

Hello, I’ve had a new Ford Focus Vignale with 235/40 18 full-year tires for a few days now. Model Kleber Quadraxer 2. So from 50-60 km/h always hears a whistling / howling noise. I was therefore at my dealer. We did a test drive. After that the car was on the lift. The workshop master said the noise would come from these thin rubber threads on the treads. If the worn out (have now driven more than 400 km) I should come back. With the cars before auc h GJR but never this noise. But were also other tire marks and whether there were these threads on it I don’t know anymore. So can the noise actually come from the tires? Thank you very much.

  • same tire on one axle?

Hello, I just drove a screw into a good Fulda winter tire at the front right. The tyre dealer said now I also have to replace the left one, because according to the law on an axle must be the same tire. (should cost 100 euros).

  • Dunlop Winter Sports 3D Stollen Outbursts, normal?

Hello I have been driving for about 1500 km on my golf 5 GTI Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D bought by the local tyre dealer, Dot is 0109 ok. Before Pirellis were on it, which unfortunately had left, compared with the Pirellis the Dunlops are significantly quieter. The tire size is 205/50 R17 On the last tour around the car I noticed that the vodee tire has slight stollen outbursts, although the wheels have never turned. Dunlop I have not yet written about the problem n. My question: Is such tunnel eruptions (3 pieces) normal? I cleaned the tyre a little bit so that it can be recognized better. Profile depth 7.6 mm, measured with digital messled slide

  • Import tyres? Not suitable for German motorway? Dunlop Sport Maxx

Hello guys, I’m looking for a good tire for my DB 600, which is only driven in summer and in dry weather. I came across an extremely cheap offer of a big internet dealer: Dunlop Sport Maxx in 255/45 R18, which is price-wise in the ranks of the Chinese. What makes me stutzig: Dunlop officially does not run this tire in this size in Germany, asked. And the other Internet shops did not offer it either. Older than 2 years he can not The reason for my skepticism is that something like that happened to me at the time on my BMW. It was also Dunlop with a funny name, somehow SP Sport 6000 E or something. The tire was made in South Africa. It ran perfectly, but on the highway so from about 180 he started to become incredibly loud. It rattered like on a sand road. The dealer took it back immediately and I got a SP 01 made in Germany. I guess the tire w ar for this reason not sold in Germany by Dunlop. Speed index was W, but I guess, sometimes, that tires sold abroad, can withstand these speeds, but then get extremely bad running characteristics. One will probably optimize them due to the speed restrictions to a maximum of 130 or 150. My question: do the manufacturers offer special models because of the high speeds in this country? Probably it is better to not sell the tires to buy, isn’t it?

  • Tires disengage from rim in curve, HELP incl. video

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 ca. 3 Bar Front Wheels 225/40/ZR18 @ Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric ca. 2,8 Bar The front tires are about half of the wear, the rear wheels are completely new, but another model (successful model). I had the feeling that in the curves the tires are detached from the rim and just push themselves under the rim at side load, then the DSC has regulated. The problem still exists, so today a video was made. You can see clearly how the tyre pushes under the rim or even hears it, about after 35 seconds. The tyres have no running direction and at the front it can be that the wheels were mounted the other way around, i.e. side replacement. But I changed them already before the crossbar conversion and now still the problem. What is the problem? Different wear of the front – and rear tyres? Different model and thus different profile? Side-verse mounting of the front wheels? Watch best in HD!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksagYIZoSlk Ask for your advice!
