Hello dear forum I bought my first car at the beginning of this week. It’s become a Toyota Corolla 1.6 2004. However, there are already 10 years old all-weather tires on steel rims on it. These are already slightly porous and generally old. That makes me feel, especially in winter not so sure. I would like to buy new tires. Do you have any tips on whether to buy new all-weather tires. Or do you prefer winter/summer tires and/or aluminium rims? e Tires after price/performance? Unfortunately, don’t know me at all and I am very grateful for every help, every tip you have! With kind regards and nice weekend you still ^.^

Barum Bravuris 3HM 255/35-19
Barum Bravuris 3HM 255/35-19 Wanted to report on my experience with a somewhat cheaper tyre brand. I searched for durable and cost-effective tyres, which do not come from the lowest price segment, and thus a week ago changed to Barum Bravuris 3HM in the size 255/35-19 to original Audi Speedline rims. Our A5 Cabrio with 2.0 TDI 170 hp engine is moved on average between 20 to 25000 km per year. A few thousand of them with 1300Kg trailer load in shape The other way of driving is rather restrained, rarely it is driven on the BAB over 160. On average we commute around 130, with open roof around 100 km/h. Tires were now mounted at 109000 km and the first 500 km have been driven. The first impression is really positive up to now. They run, in my opinion by no means louder than the previously mounted Dunlops. In fuel consumption, the display shows itself, also no change. ch with heavy steering movements on dry road, normal. Everything else will then show up in the course of time. Be sure to report about this here at loose intervals.

The better winter tires up the back?
Since the change on winter tires in autumn, I still have a question on my tongue, which I would like to get rid of now. I got 2 new winter tires at the time. My workshop pulled these up at the back. I was there when the tires were changed and asked why you don’t make the better 2 of the 4 tires on the front. Audi is an A3 8V with 180 hp gasoline and front drive. So no quattro. The mechanic said, that’s what you do now because the rear axle d so that it doesn’t break out. Can you confirm it like that? So I would have raised it myself, because of the better grip on speeding up and braking. From my feeling, the front axle is the more important.

Height strike (here Pirelli P Zero Nero)
Hello, I have new Pirelli P Zero Nero in the dimension 235/45 R17 97W on 8.5×17 Advanti rims. A wheel has a slight (!) height strike visible on the force machine and requires relatively many weights on the outside (65 g, inside 0 g) even after matching. It is also easy to hear when driving and there are slight vibrations to feel. But really only the noise bothers me. My tyre dealer now offers me to buy a new tire and the old one (n If Pirelli acknowledges the error, they would reimburse the new price. Has anyone ever done this before? How kulant are the tire manufacturers here? We are talking about a visible slight height strike as said. What are the permissible tolerances? Greeting Achim

Tire breakdown, how did this happen – monthly flaws?
Hi, my wife had a tire breakdown today. So not a slow loss, but from one second to the other, without any foreign influence. The complete bikes were bought in November 2017, so they are only 5 months old. First she sent me a photo of a small damage to the wheel trim, the rim and the tire and I knew that she was driving over it somewhere. But it’s definitely not like that. Just looked at the tire and that’s what I still have Does it look like the tire on the edge has simply “dissolved” or the rubber has detached itself from the fabric? An expert here who can tell me more about it? Will this of course complain to the online retailer. It is Bridgestone Blizzark tires (the first brand tires of my life…) The “bordstone damage” is in a completely different place on the tire, the wheel trim is not scratched, but pressed in by outside. In my opinion, this damage comes from outside. so that my wife went over a lowered kerb with the plate to stop there. So in my opinion the kerb damage happened only after the actual problem and there the rubber is broken, but there is no hole, there is no air out there. It clearly escaped where to see on the photo. I am grateful for every hint.

DIY tyre repair legal?
Hello! I refer to point 3.1 of this linked document:https://www.accident-berlin.de/…/StVZO_36_Reifenschaeden_Reparatur.pdf Is it now generally legal to repair damage caused by nails/screws up to 6mm diameter from the outside? For example with:https://www.amazon.de/…/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?… I’m talking about standard car tires, tubeless. What about run flat tires? In purely technical terms, I personally don’t see any difference between repairing vo n inside by means of “pilt” or from outside by means of “wurst”. The crux should be the assessment of the damage from inside, which is not possible for DIY repairers. Does anyone here have even more evidenced feed for me? Also gladly judgments, other legal regulations, technical recommendations of independent organizations. Thank you and greeting, HC

Repair tyres
Hello together, I had a screw in a tire and this was repaired by the tyre dealer. I assume that the work was done professionally. The tire was not flat, I noticed it immediately and drove directly to the tyre dealer. It is a V-tire, the car runs measured even slightly over 240. 2 new costs around the 400 loops, so I had to have it repaired first. But I don’t trust the roasting as the car often risks quickly too. n. I would like to hear your opinions on how you would handle it. Profile depth still about 5mm on the axle with the patched tire. Greeting, Pistensau

Tires damaged by too little air – replace
Hello, when I was driving the car yesterday, I noticed after a few kilometers that the car was swimming. So stopped and looked. A tire was pretty flat. With a foot air pump I pumped the tire again and adjusted it again at home with the compressor. However, the tire (probably through the wheel cap / rim) has a damage on the outside (see photo). Can I drive the tire still further or do I have to replace it? The tyres are only 4 weeks old

Tyre flank damaged – still mobile? (pictures in annex)
Hello, I had a rough kerb touch with the bike. Unfortunately, the tyre flank got something off. If I pull the rubber away at the damage spot I can’t see any tissue. I would be interested in your assessment if you can drive with it without hesitation. I don’t have a good feeling at the moment to drive faster with it… Thanks for your opinion. Greeting Eroso
