Hello together, I parked yesterday (slowly and gently), but came with the right back to the curb, what I looked at the tire afterwards (that happened to me years ago). Now I actually discovered a notch. It can be good that it was already in there before. I bought the car in the summer and the winter tires were there. Since I had it done only a week ago, it could have been in there before. Anyway, Ic h once attached two photos. My question would only be if I should change the tire. Probably nobody came here to make a binding statement. I drive to the workshop again next week to screw. There they should look at this again. Thanks and greetings, Hansi

Uncertainty in tyre condition
Hello, I’m new here as a forum member, but I’ve been reading the interesting postings here for a long time. So far I hadn’t signed up, because I simply didn’t have to contribute anything 🙂 I’m more of a car layman, even if I’ve been walking my Rosa Lappen for over 20 years 🙂 The reason why I’m here is that I’m interested in your opinion. The facts are this: my bottom line is a Seat Mii and he’s driving all year round. 165/70/R14. The slats are 6 years old and have about 40,000 km down. In September I was in the not quite cheap inspection, the car had no complaints from the workshop. Last Saturday I happened to look at the tires (due to snow sweeps) and then I first frightened myself about the condition of the tires. In sight I took these and saw no reason for it. I trusted the workshop, that everything is ok. I would The profile in itself still looks sufficient, but this surface structure, small cracks are probably the decisive criterion for a complete new set. The pictures are not just of a tire. Thank you in advance for your opinions!! Tommy out of pot

Bridgestone Potenza RE050A or RE002 adrenaline, which one is more sporty?
I always land at a Potenza. So the trip Pilot sport3 was just so lala, the tire was too average for the short durability. The Conti sportcontact2 was not able to suffer and the Goodyear Eagle F1 ruined the driving behaviour of the BMW (too much understeering). I already know the RE050a. Durability mau (Treadwear 140), but for that he glued like chewing gum and also endured heat and stress without falling into shreds. I would take it again, but more than 10,000km durability on the drive axle this time would be class Den Potenza S001 I also had and it really held twice as long (Treadwear280) as the RE050a, but for that small losses in cold and generally 10…20% little grip in dryness. There was something missing of the bite. Of the profile are S001 and RE050a very similar (negative part), have attached a picture. Where now the RE002 adrenaline lands. Let’s look at the data. Treadwear 220, i.e. between RE050a and S001 It should offer a good 50% more durability than the 050a. The profile has a less negative part than the two tires of the photo, which again speaks for dry grip and something against aquaplaning. Maybe nuances, but it is the youngest in the bundle. Maybe it offers the grip of the RE050a with improved durability? Long speech short sense, who knows both or a comparison in any forum or trade sheet? On the Bridgestone page are all 3 “equal-good”, the marketing shovel uses nothing. Also emails could be answered only insufficiently. Thank you!

Enter rims without an expert report
Hello, I’m new here in the forum and need your help. I had already read various amounts on my topic here in the forum, but the matching was not there. The following problem: I bought these rims (picture) new or used without tyres. The rims have no ABE or expert opinions in a written form. The type designation or / and the manufacturer of the rims are not known. At the rim front is next to the valve the number: 1045 In the F The following names are punched: 22×9 1/2 J (22×9,5J) VIA 1050 KG Italy 250713 (I am not sure about this, because uncleanly punched) The rims have the hole wreath size: 5 x 130 and are to be driven from next summer with the tyres 295/35 Y or larger or similar tyres on the Porsche Cayenne. As I have read here in the forum, an entry of the rims is not possible only with these data. Hours long GOOGLEN has not brought me any further ! Dah I now turn to you. I would like to get these sweeps registered with the appropriate tyres. How should I proceed ? Is there any possibility ? Does anyone know these rims ? Does someone have an expert report or comparison report ? In advance thank you for your help

Problems when buying rims – dealer or workshop fault?
Good day, I ordered new rims (no complete wheels) from wheelscompany, which were delivered directly to a workshop that was supposed to mount them. Today I received a call from the car master, where I was informed that a rim has a dull impact on the outside and therefore cannot be mounted on my new vehicle for guarantee reasons. Likewise, I was sent pictures of the damage to the rim. On the pictures it is also evident that from the The workshop of the tyres has already been mounted on the rim. As a result, I initiated a reklemation at Wheelscompany. I was informed by wheelscompany that in principle there was a transport damage at the rim, but this cannot be claimed, since the rim was already installed (i.e. the tires on it) on the part of the workshop. The damage was visible from the beginning and should have been recognized by the workshop before the assembly. to make ot for a new rim at a reduced price. Since I can not estimate who is now responsible for the damaged rim, I would like to ask you for your assessment. With best regards Lulomann

Tyre purchase 225 40 18
Hello, I need 2 new tyres of the size 225/40-18 92Y now! Now the question is which should I take, have received some offers, unfortunately I don’t know what to take. Until Dato Hankook S1evo were on it. I was actually very satisfied with it, only since my car at the VA is probably a tire eater these were fast down, especially on the inside flanks. Otherwise the real top in terms of volume, consumption and grip. The new tyres should not exactly the so I have some offers to choose from, which are also about the same price: Hankook V12evo Kumho KU39 (profile looks similar to the S1 evo, covert but certainly high, right??) Fulda Exelero (I personally like the profile net) Dunlop Sport Maxx (Is that about the old profile, which becomes so loud with the time and saw teeth ??)Barum (model I don’t know are probably from DOT 2010) So which is probably the best on a box car (Touran, Caddy, Vw ..) Take or recommend ??? Thank you

Summer tyres F31 Touring recommendations
Servus, since the spring is coming so slowly but surely I wanted to inquire about your opinion for summer tires. I have already posted it in the F31 forum many more experts among you: I don’t know exactly when the first test will come out much. do you have better information? My car: F31 318d Touring Summer tires current: Goodyear EfficientGrip 255/40 R18 95Y Runflat Driving style is normal. Important for me are fuel consumption and durability. I’ve actually left Runflat for studies and opinions. But I’m open to a great runflat tire for this model! Is there any new models in the starting holes I should put on? My Fav: Goodyear Eagle 3 Thank you for all the answers. Greetings from Lower Franconia

Rims messed up – scrap, or worth anything else?
Good evening, dear Motor Talk Community! I always thought I was not a fuss and would leave certain tasks to experts. But today I shot a total bird.. It’s about my rims of ZPerformance, the zp4.1. After I scratched the front rim on the curb a bit last year when I parked, I wanted to have the complete set powder-coated for this summer. However, the typeplates/names had to be dropped from the rim before. Be These are fixed by notch nails, each shield 2 nails. My plan was just to drill these, cut shields away, M3 threads in and after coating order a new set of rim shields in the ZP shop and just to attach them by M3 lens head screws. Instead, I totally hung up 2 rims, because I broke away with both the M3 thread drill and is now stuck. However, the first rim worked well. And I didn’t touch the fourth at all, since I I already curse myself for my stupidity. Now I don’t really know what to start with the set of rims. The tire is almost new, was driven for 3 months last summer. Do you think someone buys the complete set including rubber on ebay classifieds, or are the rims just for the scrap yard? Would I be happy about serious answers, because for my stupidity I am already more than enough

Isn’t it better to have wide tires in snow?
Hello, I think about 1 year ago the car picture made a test on this topic. The result was, except for Aquaplaning the wide tire is better. Now I have with my Mondeo the Michelin Alpin A4 with about 6mm profile in 235 45 r18 and I got stuck this winter already 3 times. Yesterday again on the mountain. My mother with her 215 Dunlop (also a Mondeo) with 5! mm profile passed me shortly afterwards. Also nobody in my family has such problems and I the le Winter did not last either. Are now smaller tires as one once believed better?

Cause of tyre damage
Hi, everybody, I apparently drove 50km with a flat rear tire today without realizing it. I didn’t think it could be done, but until I had to steer a bit obliquely to drive straight ahead, I didn’t notice anything. Well, my question. The damage is on the left rear wheel. So a curb is eliminated. Can anyone tell me what this damage means? The length of the crack is about 1cm. Does that look like a knife? Actually, I would say The cut of a knife is straighter, but it suggests that I drove another 50km? Thank you.
