  • Car pulls to the left after tyre change

Hello everyone, I have last week together with my father last week the summer tires mounted on my SLK 230. Since then he pulls noticeably to the left and doesn’t drive as lively (could I imagine too). Since I don’t know so much and my father know more, but rather a “as long as he runs” mentality, I would like to turn to you. Tyre pressure fits, I checked several times. The winter tires (in which he drove super) are all four 205/60/R15 91T (https://imgur.com/a/SAiCCgE) are also relatively new according to my father, but I don’t have the exact date at hand. The summer tyres are in front 205/55 ZR 16W and in the rear 225/50 ZR 16W (https://imgur.com/a/mfwAL1D) and also relatively old, believe 2012. Profile is still there, however, as far as I can judge. After some googles I think it could be either because it wasn’t selected (which would be expressed by a fluttering rather than a pulling, od he doesn’t?), at the difference in the size of the tyres (in addition, none of the 8 tyres corresponds to the size of 205/55R16 91V specified in the vehicle license; but the car can also wear other shoes to my knowledge?) or at an incorrect track/axis/similar (but wouldn’t that be noticeable with the winter tyres?). As you can see, I have many theories, but unfortunately no expertise regarding cars. What do you think about it? Is it just time for new summer tyres or is it due to something different? rem? Rejoice me about your input. LG Philipp

  • Roll-off aid…

Hello, I had 205/55 r16. Now I drive in the summer 235/40 r18 and in the winter the 205/55 r16. In the car is now 205/55r16 and 1985mm roll circumference stored. Now my problem with these online computers… I have 3 stk and they say different… If I say from 205/55 r16 to 235/40 r18 say 2 no and 1 yes. So if I turn this from 235/40 r18 to 205/55 r16 say 2 yes and 1 no. With screenshots… I hope to help, thank you already

  • Difference in profile depth of four-wheel vehicle > 1 mm not good, or hysteria?

I drive an Audi Quattro. During the dismantling of the summer bikes in autumn last year, I had between 4.5 and 5.0 mm in the front and between 6.0 and 6.5 mm in the rear. Unfortunately, I had a nail in the rear side of the tyre. The tyre had to be replaced. When I was assembled a few weeks ago, I changed the rear wheels forward and the front wheels backwards. The car runs perfectly and without any influence on the steering wheel. I imagine that there is a slight, speed-dependent surrene on the front axle. However, I can’t detect a defect on one of the tyres. Therefore, I wrote today to the tyre manufacturer, who answered promptly. He explained that there should be no differences in the profile depth of more than 1 mm on an all-wheel drive vehicle. With all tyres among themselves! And that the noises I perceived from the uneven profile depths So after a season I always have 1 to 2 mm difference between the tyres of the front axle to the rear axle. Since there was never any such perceptions in this regard, I can’t understand the explanation of the tyre manufacturer within a vehicle axle. Would a defective tyre always mean the replacement of one or even three more tyres?

  • Rim damage after winter use

Hello, I upload a few pictures here. On my rims is a kind of protective layer on it (a kind of foil) At least that’s what it looks like. As this has naturally been opened by rim scrambles on the curb etc. in the places, I assume that by the fact that the rims have been used for the first time in winter, salt etc. came into the open places, and they are now dirty there. Do you know the problem? Is my assumption correct? Is it expensive to repair such rims I don’t think it’s original bmw wheels, even if the emblem is on it. MfG Pika pika

  • TireFit does not cure

Hello, since I no longer wanted to trust the standard TireFit, I bought a spare wheel. Now I wanted to find out – just out of curiosity – how the TireFit behaves in the tire and whether the rim really sucks as terribly as described here often. Also here was recently pointed out that TireFit hardens to large lumps and then the tire becomes very unbalance, why then you can only drive Vmax 80 km/h. So I have the stuff in a bottle tipped and observed; consistency and appearance like white latex paint, but slightly smells of ammonia. But nothing happens, even with an open bottle and constant shaking. For 2 days the stuff is still as liquid as before in the original container. Does anyone have an explanation? The TireFit was delivered with the new car in 2016.

  • Rims not registered – penalty ?

Good morning dear Motor Talk Forum, despite a detailed google search I did not get a specific answer to my question so I have to contact you now. I have ordered new summer tyres for my car because the current summer tyres or rims are not registered and also have no KBA number or similar. The delivery needs however still a whole two weeks and I would like to change my tyres so that the winter tyres do not wear out so much and because the rims on of course, the summer tyres look much better. Of course, I can have the bad luck and be stopped in these two weeks (I live in the country and was checked only once in my almost two years but the danger still exists). My first question is now how high is the penalty on unregistered rims and will it prolong my probation period? On the internet I find 50€ penalty as well as a point, but is it also extended my probation period (it is only 3 months) ? The more interesting question is but what “example” would you use? I drive a Hyundai Coupe which is generally a bit “dunted”. But it is all entered and is of course carried along. If the police eats what is with the rims you would rather say “They are series (o. a. – the rims don’t look very “specially”) or should I try with “The rims are registration-free?” Does any of you have experience with such controls or can of his n Telling experiences? I thank you already in advance for your help.

  • Track plates SCC cracks

Hi, yesterday I cleaned my track plates for the summer season, I had to find out unfortunately that the two rear 20 mm plates have cracks, one more, the other less. It is the screw-on variant of the company SCC. The front 15mm plates are impeccable. The plates are cs 3 years old, perhaps also four. Unfortunately did not have the bill any more. May such something happen? Before it was not so to be seen only after cleaning, According to workshop for I have contacted the plates were always attracted with the right torque, the master said he had at that time specially informed himself. • What is this tire ??

Hello motor-talk municipality: I have a problem and maybe you can help me: I would urgently need to know which tyres were on the Citroen C5 III 2.0, 140 ps, Limo EZ: 04.2008 bought by me in January 2011. I don’t have the car anymore and I don’t know which tyres were on it when I bought them (as a used tyre). I think it was all-weather tyres. It’s very important for me, because I could handle these tyres in a back-to-back way (panel disc-OP). ochche, somewhat younger (EZ 11.2008) model also in summer with winter tires, as these are more comfortable of suspension behavior. But have not a good feeling to drive in summer with winter flaps. I add 2 pictures on which you can easily recognize the profile. On the 2nd picture I read, if I enlarge it with photo program Picasa in front something like Good…..?? Are maybe Goodyear… but have not found any with the profile so far at the internal. Unfortunately you can only get pictures up to 1 MB upload, so that you probably can’t see the letters on the tire. Would be nice if someone could help me. In advance already many thanks!!! Greetings monsi

  • Question to tyre dealers

Hello together, 2 months ago I founded my tyre trade as a secondary trade. Now I noticed that some tyres on various platforms are cheaper in the retail price than I buy them for EC at various wholesale platforms. The same with rims. Of course, the amount of purchase also plays a role. How can that be? Does someone have a tip where you can buy the tyres cheaper or achieve a better margin? Also about private news.

  • Summer tires (velvet size?

Moin people I’ve been looking for summer tyres since the vehicle I’ve only got winter tyres. Now I ask myself what makes sense here? I want to put it a bit deeper, but not extreme. Should it just look stylish, that’s it. What do you think, the 18″ or have to or should it be 19″? What about width etc? I honestly got a clue about this topic and ask about it. It’s going to be an Audi A4 2.7 Bj 2010 Kombi in black. I thought about buying the tyres at reifen.com, or the tyres only at reifendirect. What do you think? I don’t want to spend like 1000 EURO anymore.
