  • Which 225/40 R18 winter tyres for Golf IV, few suggestions

Hello, currently driving GoodYear Ultragrip 7, from 2010 in size 205/50 R16. They are too loud to me… have a comparison to the Audi A3 8V, which has Dunlop Winter 3D in size 205/50 R17. Supposedly the Ultragrip 8 should be quieter… Have taken the following tires into focus: Conti WinterContact 850 Dunlop 3D/4D Pirelli Sottozero III All 3 have no V profile and are not track-bound. Who has experience with the above tyres? Would it be nice if one or another Golf IV driver s I would report… because the same tire on Auto A behaves differently than on Auto B

  • Transit swims extremely with winter tires (195/70R15C)

Hello. For some time now I have been driving with a Ford Transit (2011) for a freight forwarder, with the tire dimensions 195 / 70 R15 C. Now I had driven the vehicle until last week with summer tires. Thus one could drive for a transporter quite sporty, and on the BAB the top speed (approx. 160km /h) without problems take advantage. Now the transit got brand new winter tires of the brand Uniroyal missed with the same size as the summer tires. However, the Transi floats The car swims extremely, in my opinion, with slight steering movements as you have to do from time to time (overtaking / dodging on the BAB) even the ESP goes on! Is this normal that this is such a difference? I had not experienced anything like this in any vehicle up to now and I already have many dangers. Thanks in advance. MFG

  • Help! Get compett tires without accessories

Hello to Allen suchen Rat, habe mir 1 week ago 4 complete tires ordered, however no accessories received. The local tyre dealer and also a mechanic explained to me that they can not mount the rims, because ‘rings’, which have to be mounted on the inside of the rims, and the right screws are missing. The seller (reifendirekt.de / gommediretta.it) tells me today he did not have these parts at all, could not order them at all and I would have to buy those where otherwise. He tells me that he can’t order me the accessories and he doesn’t know where to get something special, because the rings have to be exactly for the rims and my car model. Now my question: can the seller do something like that, I had exactly specified my car model when ordering (invoice in annex) maturedirectly doesn’t want to know much about a return, communication with them is very bad, partly no answer and contradictory indication en (must unfortunately turn to the Italian support there from South Tyrol) Rims: DOTZ Tupac 8.00 x 18 (LK 5/120, ET 35) Car: BMW 320D Touring 390L 120kW 1995ccm, diesel Thanks for any help andreas

  • Winter tires are dangerous

Winter tyres have about 15 m more braking distance than summer tyres from tempo 100 kmh. Means: one stands, the other is still at pace 30. In the Rhineland there was no snow this year. In wet and dry road the winter tyres are much worse and have a higher wear and consumption. Who drives the things until Easter is common dangerous and drives with a hard brake of the front man with summer tyres fully into the car. In 95% of all situations in winter loses the winter tire in the Rhineland. On the other few days I can also ride with the public. So who does the winter tire bring what (drivers excluded from CAP)?

  • Federal Government must agree according to TÜV-individual reports??!?

Hello guys, I have a case here with a middle-aged Jeep Wrangler. The owner bought Good Year tyres that look like the old tyres. Unfortunately, the Good Year did not exist in the size as in the FzG bill. So let the TÜV and an expert report for 57 EUR. The car is registered in Hessen. There the TÜV and the registration office tells him that he still has to go to the federal government. The government has to agree. That costs 39.50 EUR. Only then can he mature. I’ve never heard of this with the approval of the federal government? Do you know such a thing? Is that a speciality of Hesse? Or because the wrangler is a jeep? Or is that normal? Gruss W.

  • Other tires on it than in the vehicle license?

Moin, I drive a Golf 7 from 2012 which still has its first tires on it and now has almost 25tkm on the clock. It’s GJR. With now almost 7 years I would like to change them. On top are currently 205/55 R16 91V (Goodyear Vector 4Seasons), but in the vehicle license is 205/50 R17 93V. I have the car now almost 1 year. The dealer told me that this is still the first tire. The tires are from KW 40 in 2012. That would get there. Can that be? Why is there something in the bill? other? Why would someone buy 16 inch rims when 17 is in appearance? Plan to drive the car from Hamburg to Frankfurt next week, so I’m also unsure if it’s good to put on new tires beforehand or rather drive the old ones. What could happen?

  • Summer tires after 1 year and 4000km

Hello, Today our sportage was in the workshop, because for some time quite strong vibrations can be felt. Conclusion of the workshop: Tires are not round. They changed them from rear to front, which should have brought an improvement. The vibrations are less strong. To my question whether it would have been done for the workshop, he answered I should drive like this and see if it bothers me. Otherwise you have to look how to arrange. Tomorrow they want me a P Reis call for possibly 4 new tires. My question: can it be that tires that ran at first without any problems at once become unround? Storage over the winter can be excluded because they were stored lying down. It seems strange to me that tires become unround over the time. hankook ventus s1 evo2 suv k117a 245/45 r19 98w which are one year old and have about 4000km down, thank you

  • Seiberling tires

“Oh man, there’s another low-priced tyre offered by his dealer as a >Top offer and wants to make a nice speech here.” Well, it’s a little different. Constantly looking for new tyres with decent performance, good price and no reputation, a model of the brand Seiberling was proposed to me when I entered the internet again. I first thought of another fantasy name of a Chinese tire a la Gerutti, Trazano or Runwa y. But it seems to be a sub-brand of Bridgestone, with which the “third segment” is to be operated after the core brand and firestone. Accordingly, at least the profile also reminds of Firestone tires. Short questions: Does anyone have such tyres? Have you ever heard of it? Have a nice weekend!

  • Atypical rim scraper

Hello, Can anyone tell me that the scratch could have come on the rim (see photo)? I’ve been trying to find possible causes on google all day long, but don’t get closer to it. Damage to rims are typically on the outer edge or at the furthest roughest spot, in this case however the scratch is very central. I also can’t remember driving against anything. Thank you!
