  • Michelin or Goodyear Summer Tires

Halo people, need new summer tires in spring. I have read through many tests and have now two in my selection. The Michelin Primacy 3 and the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2. Can’t really decide now and would be happy about your tips or experience values. The tires have the size 225/45 R17 91W and are mounted on aluminium rims. They come to a Golf 5 Variant 1.4 TSI (140hp). Driving behavior is normal (of course also sometimes fast), approx. 12000 K M on summer tires, 80% city/country and 20% BAB. I know that I have to cut down somewhere, but still value running quietness, abrasion and braking behaviour (aquaplaning) on wetness. Would be nice if you could help me with my decision.

  • Tire repair like this?

Moin, have a short question. Had two summer tires (index up to 210km/h I think, mother drives but maximum country road) brought to the workshop for repair. One had a nail, the other a screw. The seller meant “is no problem you can pull in a mushroom”. I thought “ok, can not go wrong” … I picked them up now (40 euros for both wheels) and wanted to ask you if this is okay. Because it looks to me rather as if they only have one such thing there. “Self-help kit” were used. In my opinion, the tyres were not pulled off either, but they are still too dirty, they were not weighed either. The patching and the tire rubber are slightly melted. > Here better photos < Is it really vulcanized after all? Unfortunately, I have never seen anything for comparison. Now my question: You have to cut that off again with a sharp knife, don't you think? On your own this never drives off properly. Since the Löc are exactly in the grooves: Cut flush to the profile or just a little further down? Now, of course, eats so and not really to change and they are mounted like that. But still wanted to hear your opinion ...

  • Needed papers for rims – who knows ratlita.eu ?

Hello together. I hope it’s not Forenwiedrig to name the homepage of this company. Briefly to the Storry. I bought through a private person rims which however do not contain papers. Due to the packaging I found that these rims are manufactured or distributed through the company which is behind www.ratlita.eu. Since I will probably not have much pleasure with the TÜV without papers, now my question. If someone knows the company, someone has these rims or w It’s where I have the opportunity to get the papers for the rims. At the company itself I have already asked, but am not too optimistic that I will get something. The rims are an Audi S-Line replica. Here’s a more or less meaningful picture Do I have a chance for a (single) acceptance through the data pressed into the rims alone? What sums are we talking about with a (single) acceptance? The following values are pressed in: 19 x 8.5 JJ and ET 40, and also 690 Kg (max. load capacity) Would be happy if anyone could help me.

  • Tires flattened on a few days and then long again not

Hello, two tires about a year old (vehicle is an Audi A3 2.0 TDI 12/2003 with original factory rims) are in the morning on some days completely without air; sometimes the one, sometimes the other, sometimes both. Sometimes a month or even two months is nothing, then again one or twice a week. Was so in the winter but also now in the summer. No nail, crack, scraping by curb contact or similar to discover. Very strange; I don’t know what’s going on : ( Thanks for a few useful tips!

  • How to measure rims in the wheel box?

Hi, with my polo next week the new wheel / rim kombi has to register. Would like to check again. that there is no problem with the examiner. How fair I right rims opposite wheel box? The rim horn is not allowed to look over the wheel box, 50 degrees is clear from above, that also fits with me. But have also read 30 degrees of rims away from rims? Does this mean simply slightly sloping with the water scale? Since with me the rag box to the ground peel he will stand there and there the mature sowiso over, I do not know how far (from above) the wheel / rim must be covered.

  • change from winter tyres to summer tyres.

Hi, I’m an optimist and I want to have my summer tires mounted again on the weekend. I measured the tyre profile of the summer tires today and became thoughtful. I have front R and back L just over 5mm. Front L and back R just under 4mm (at the side a little less). All tires are of the same brand. Can I mount the old front R and back L on one axle and the two 4mm back or should I replace the 4mm? What’s your opinion?

  • Tyres run from each other’s profile

Hello, I have 2 different tires on the car behind Bridgestone and front the Dunlop SP Sport Fastresponse . At the back the running direction on it is so now to my problem: On the front tire stands right and left “outside” on it only runs the profile differently to each other! Since I have the on it stands my steering wheel slightly crooked and my consumption has increased by 0.7 liters. How do I not get through what is wrong? The workshop dismantled them and according to their Besch rubbing(creath on the tires) were at the front right and left once Bridgestone and once Dunlop mounted (at the back the same) so different tires per axle. Greetings

  • Help on vacation – tires broken?

Hi I’m trying to be brief but I really need help. I have no idea of cars, let alone of the tyres. I’m on vacation with the car on the North Sea. Just before the trip started I checked and filled up the tyre pressure of my ups (were missing 0.1-0.3 bar for all four tyres). Yesterday evening after 5 days a lot drive, the alarm showed that the tyre pressure was not right anymore. So I down at the next tank and checked. 3 all right. Only number 4 (back right) showed only 0.9. I inflated him without thinking big on the given 2,1 again and drove 60km further. I arrived at the hotel then still once Googleled and get it now totally with the fear to do. Then then this morning again checked and he was again only on 1,2. Now I sit in the ship to Helgoland and eigtl should go tomorrow with full packed trunk again over the highway home. Tonight and tomorrow the car Werkst had been closed here and I don’t know what to do now, have just really shot to drive the car home so, is not in it. But must also tonight 3km from the harbour into the house zzrück. What should I do I really have no idea about that. Maybe I should mention that I hit a high curb with this rear wheel 2 weeks ago when I turned right into a road, but you could not see any visible damage and since then have also I didn’t see or see any damage or any other damage that he looked flat. The tire looked full. Also, the car doesn’t pull out of the track or jerks in any way. Am really stunned what I should do?

  • Which all-year tire for Golf Plus without sawtooth?

Hello, I’m looking for new all-year tyres for a Ver Golf Plus from 12/2008. Please don’t give a dicussion about the disadvantages of GJR.. With our driving performance and in the city nothing else is possible for us..! Except of course only to take winter tyres, but that’s another discussion. 😉 Our Golf Plus has now original 34,000Km down and it’s still (ex works) Goodyear Vector mounted.. Believe that should be 205 55 R16. With the driving behavior of the tires I was always satisfied, no for some time now I have the problem that the vector is getting louder and louder. Probably grrr–SÄGEZAHN –grrr. But the profile is still good, I have changed at the front and back.., only got worse.. Profile is still 6mm and 7mm .. But this noise background is annoying.. Does it hurt in my soul to want to replace tires with 7mm profile, but I don’t know how to help myself.. So it should become an all-year tire again.. But which ones do I want to replace with 7mm profile. Is there GJR, where one can assume no problems to get with sawtooth? Comfortable roll off would then be the freestyle.. Or do I have to expect to get sawtooth again with all GJR today? Actually, I always said the next tire will be a vector again.. I now threw this opinion overboard.. What then? A tyre dealer recommended to me the Kumho KH21.. Can someone say something about sawtooth formation? Pleasant secondary defect, it is not soo expensive. . If the things have all saw teeth anyway I no longer buy the best / most expensive.. If the already with 6/7 mm profile have to be exchanged I look for something cheaper.. Maybe here someone can say something about saw teeth and all year round tires. Which one can recommend there? Or do all the problem saw tooth? I would be very grateful for tips and recommendations! Thanks and greetings from the far north. Jens
