Hi guys, I drive an Audi A3 and buy myself a pair of new summer tyres the week. Currently I have tyres up to 240 km/h on it (speed index) I’ve heard: The lower the speed index, the lower the wear. Is that true? If so, I would buy some with a lower index. Up to 190 km/h, I never drive faster anyway. May I have tyres with a different speed index from the front? thank you and say hi chris

Workshops don’t want to raise old tires – Reifenmafia?
In my basement I had stored tires for a long time, which are 20 years old in the meantime, but hardly ran off and have no cracks or the like. I wanted to have them raised now – the workshop refuses however. The “tire specialist” explains quite furiously, it is forbidden to drive such old tires, so one would not get a HU badge and would risk a parking ticket. And the tires could “rupt” already when inflating, or on the highway etc. He as a workshop is in the liability. Isn’t it true – demand from experts (DEKRA, ADAC) shows that there is no limitation of the age of tyres (except trailers). And that tires have a steel belt for a long time, which makes it difficult to “place” should also be known 😉 And the liability for such work has basically the holder – at least if he brought the tyres or other parts himself. So what is the reason for such behavior? One should think that the workshops at this And other workshops do the same. Apparently there’s a real deal – and they think they’re better at driving if you fool the customers – by selling more new tyres? Who has had similar experiences? What can you do about this “maferia”?

Hankook, Barum or Conti?
Hello dear forum community, since my current slats have to be removed as soon as possible, I am looking for new shoes for my CLK 320 Coupe, Bj 2000. One way forward, when buying were 18 to 225 Wanli rims mounted. Experiences are all more than NEGATIV. Such tires are clearly forbidden. Would like to buy the Ronal LZ 1 pcs. In 7.5×17 ET 35 in crystal silver. (16 to small?). I got a little bit informed and thus came to the following tires. 1) Hankook Ventus V12 Evo in 225/45 R17 2) Hankook Ventus S1 Evo also in 225/45 R17 or 3) Continental Sport Contact 3 also in 225/45 R17. Alternatively as 4) Barum Bravuris in the same size. The tire should be durable, have good grip in wet and quiet. Which shoes should fit best in my profile. Ride also a lot of highway. Which should I do most kilometers with (Conti or Hankook?)? Thanks for your support LG

Tires inside partially worn out…different opinions: renewal yes/no
Good morning together, as I noticed louder rolling noises and slight vibrations/unbalance (the faster the ride, the smaller it is to remember), at my Passat B7 I was at the tyre dealer to have the wheels (19″ Talladega rims with Hankook Evo2 225/35) diagonally replaced (balances didn’t work out). There it was found that the tires were “down” and new ones had to come. In fact, the tyres – at least in the back – are partly on the inside. e (not all around) left, see photo. Since we will go to Italy in one month and will easily make 3500 km, I am unsure. – tyre dealer says: tires promptly new – car master of my trust says: finish season, next new – acquaintance with lots of car experience says: the rear new, the front next season. What do you say? The tires still have 4 mm profile. The tires are three years old, drive now the fourth season. The first season (2016) on a Golf 6 GT I, since 2017 on a passat B7 variant. The passat has been lowered with feathers since mid-March. Achsvermessung took place. I am very grateful for your opinions. I would like to order tires as soon as possible if it has to be.

Golf 5 Variant 2.0 TDI, best tires for the car?
Servus, with my golf the tires are already due, since the balancing of aluminium rims is not in relation to the useful value of the tires, I have to renew already. (Sportline with H&R 35mm) Actually a balanced certainly remedy would, but 18.50 per tire only for balancing is too much money if you put that in relation to the profile depth. In addition, the tires from 2012 and after 7 years and 100,000km of mileage are also allowed down. The flanks are also not t more the most beautiful. Now to my question, which tire in the dimension 225 45 r17 is your experience after the most balanced tires for the car? Or are there better tire sizes? How are the experiences with all-weather tires? Of course I can choose tire tests, but user experiences are more dear to me… I used to drive summer and winter tires always (225 45 17 Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymetric 2 in summer and Semperit Speed Grip 2 in 205 55 16 in winter), however, the winter tires are also and therefore to change the thinking on a year-round tire… If I have read a suitable thread, please don’t be angry… And thank you for every helpful post

Summer tyres (light running tyres)
Moin Moin, I need your help. I took over another vehicle where the summer tires are age-old (9 and 11 years old). Now I’m looking for new ones. On the last two vehicles I had the Michelin Energy Safer and the Goodyear EfficientGrip. But since this is something that I bought this one I would like to use your knowledge and your experiences which tyres are still so recommended. At the moment I fluctuated between Since I am not only in the city but also a lot over land and on the ABunderwegs it depends on the following. – Longevity – fuel consumption – good adhesion – no NoName tires Therefore good tyres are also important to me. Desired service life if possible gladly around the 100000km. Vehicle is a Opel Astra Caravan H 1.8. Tyre size is 205/55 R16 91H. From Michel in Energy Safer plus I have seen that it is also available with the speed index V for the same price and even the energy label is better there. Would the tyre otherwise have disadvantages compared to the same with the speed index H? What is the difference between the EfficientGrip and the EfficenGrip Performance? I would like to thank you for your help.
