  • Wheel size 195 50 R15 or 185 60 R14

Hello, I bought with my used Polo 1.4 75hp, 195 50 R15 CMS C4 Aluflege. (C4 655 35 59) Now I leave that the Polo has standard only 185 60 R14 rims, what are the advantages and disadvantages of the two sizes? Are there big differences in driving behaviour?

  • Little known brands and curiosities

Tigar Tyres, already owned or even bought? This manufacturer comes from Serbia and as so often a well-known manufacturer, namely Michelin, has to do with it. Every manufacturer of car tires, even if he should have previously produced only tires for donkey carts (extremely formulated and generally), naturally has a UHP in the program: After all an interesting profile design. Quote: Longitudinal and transversal grooves for efficient water evacuation I am not an expert, but as with this the profile water could be drained particularly well, does not reveal itself to me.

  • Recommendation Full-year tire for city car (7 TKM)

Moin, could you give me a recommendation for a new GJR. It is an Audi A1 (2014). So far the original Dunlup SP Sport 01 A/S were on it. Size 215/45 R16 – but there is no more. My car dealer has now made me an offer for the following tires: Goodyear 4Seasons GS for 130,- or Hankook Kinergy 4S H470 for 94,- Actually I tend to Goodyear, but the 150.- more hurt already (currently). Driving profile: practically only city and short distance, approx. 5-8 TKM p .a. Flachland / Rhineland, therefore GJR also make sense. I was very satisfied with the Dunlop so far. Have now about 38 TKM on the hump. They still have the best. 6mm in the front but under 3mm. I assume only 2 tires change (so down in the front, new to the rear) makes no sense here anymore. Which would you recommend – or even a completely different one? Thank you!

  • Me and my summer tire celebrate anniversary – 100,000km of mileage achieved

Hello together, must leave the joy out somewhere. Today SR/WR-removal was announced. As a number collector of course I recorded the profile depths, km-stand and date. The tires were mounted as part of the factory delivery by Opel and typically driven from approx. end of March to the end of October ±. Tires: Conti Ecocontact 5 185/65 R15 88T DOT: 4613 (AFAD D5P7) Made in Portugal Start profile: 6,5mm (average) Rest profile today: 3,2mm (average) –> Specific wear ß: 0,33mm/10tkm To the vehicle: – Corsa D 1.3 CDTI (70kW) – Empty weight: 1278kg – Aluminium rims Driving style/profile: – Mainly medium-range commuters with defensive driving mode (always professional traffic) but sometimes even stop in the leisure area (just under 200). – Average consumption over SR running performance: 4,35l/100km – Average speed over SR running performance: 47,8km/h I would legally still have “air” for about 35tkm with the lowest residual profile …. twas exploit next summer … hmm, I have to sleep over another winter. 2020 would probably be the last summer in my hands.

  • Full-year tyres 245/40 R17

Hello, would like to switch to all-year tyres, but I won’t be able to find my size. In the front I need 225/45 R17. There are several of them, of which I liked the Michelin CrossClimate+ best. In the back I need 245/40 R17. I don’t find any of them. Is there no all-year tyres in this size?

  • Which tyres 195/70 R14 91H

Hello all, I need new summer tyres of the format 195/70 R14 91H for a W123. Especially as H-tires the selection here is very limited. Since cheap tyres are not possible, the following models are in the narrow selection: – Vredestein Sportrac 5 – Uniroyal Rainexpert – Kumho KH 17 – Kumho KH 27 – Toyo Teo Plus More seems to be missing with this speed index on well-known tyres. 0km/year, wearables are therefore almost irrelevant. It would be much more important to me that the tire does not harden too quickly, does not tend too strongly to stand plates and is not too spongey due to the rather high flank. Also it should not roll off too loudly as possible. I am very grateful for all tips! Have a nice weekend!!! MfG Jablonski

  • Damage aluminum rims on the valve seats ?!

Hello together, during the installation of my Winter-Alus I noticed a strange damage to the valves after washing on all 4-wheels. Is there any explanation for this? The remaining sides of the rims look very good all around, only on the valves there are these problems. Could there also possibly have been something wrong with the tyre dealer during the assembly of the RDKS and thus the clear varnish first had been crushed and then the aluminium corrosion used (1.ter and 1. einz a tyre exchange was 2 years ago)? Would you be curious to hear your opinion and have put in some pictures once. Thank you

  • Determine/calculate hole circle using some data from steel rim

Good day . I have some old car rims to sell. My problem is unfortunately only that I have no idea which data are important for the buyer. I found out e.g. this data. 205/55 R16 steel rims 6Jx16h2 et 48 Now I had received from an interested party the question how much the hole circle would be? I have already looked on the rim everywhere but I find nothing that starts with 5x. I only know that the rim has five holes. ?? Therefore my question: can I use this data to calculate 6Jx16h2 et 48 somehow which hole circle diameter do I have? Thank you already in advance

  • Who currently drives retreaded winter tyres?

Hello, I have a question. When I was looking for tyres, I came across an offer from King Meiler HP2 winter tires in the auction house. I was not aware that there are still such things nowadays. I can still remember well in my childhood of scolding men because the running surface had said goodbye again. At that time there was a big tyre dealer in our place and he had a workshop where he had refurbished himself. I mean that this was always a running surface Erneueru These memories I associate with the topic of retreading.. Now the question is who “outet” himself and can tell me his current!! And own experiences with retreaded winter tires. As said up to now … because my experiences with this have also been 35..40 years ago. I think the quality must have become better, in times of ISO standards and product liability a company in Germany can no longer sell so. easy scrap. Thank you
