Hello, I had a rather broad and excited discussion in the pub yesterday evening about wheel nuts and wheel screws. Primarily it was about the distinction and the distribution of both “fixes”. It actually started because my buddy thought he had to buy new wheel nuts. Then another said it was wheel screws. I agreed because the “things” have just an external thread and no internal thread. So far so good, there is a problem. Then the conversation went in the direction, when what and why. None of us could immediately call a current car, where there are nuts instead of the screws. So the question is, are wheel nuts still used in modern vehicles today or only screws? Would be happy about a positive answer, then I do not have to order the next beer but the buddy

Nordic winter tyres now also in D
Nokian will apparently also offer its Nordic winter tyres in snow-rich regions in Germany and Central Europe in the future. An interesting idea, I think. Let’s see if this offer is accepted. In direct tests with snow and ice, these tyres cut off much better than even very high-quality winter tyres, which are designed for Central Europe. On the other hand, these tyres are naturally not so strong in mild weather conditions. Nevertheless: for Black Forest, Alps and Harz at least a thoughtful idea to also offer such winter tyres. However, there is a risk that the assortment could become quite confusing for us customers. http://www.nokiantyres.de/media-release-de?… From the Nokian press release: ‘New Nokian Hakkapelitta winter tyres for the toughest winter conditions Nokian also presents new winter tyres for the toughest winter conditions: The new generation of Nokian Hakkapelitta winter tyres – the best In Scandinavia, Nokian Hakkapelitta winter tires are highly appreciated, because they are optimized for strict Nordic winters. In Germany, they are best driven in areas with lots of snow, ice and snow and are now also available there at the tyre service. The new Nokian Hakkapelitta R2 defeats even the most extreme winter conditions. With diamondthearten millions of crystals in the rubber mixture, he bites himself into snow and ice. rste, most comfortable and reliable Nokian winter tire without spikes is also the greenest with super low rolling resistance, low fuel consumption and high mileage.’

Changing tires after storage from the workshop?
Hello together, I moved and therefore took the tires to a nourishing workshop. Who now tell me my winter tires are from 2002 and need to be changed urgently. I bought my car together with new winter tires in 2008. Can this really be that the dealer turned on me there so old tires (at purchase 6 years)? We never noticed it so far (different workshops in between)? I actually didn’t think that my old W but I can’t really think of a way to switch them, maybe by mistake. I can’t prove that, of course. How would you do that? I’ll ask tomorrow if it was an accident. Is it theoretically possible to get such old tyres (6 years) sold as new? It’s a dealer of Opel. Thank you and my best regards.

Mounted wheels don’t fit new car
Hello, so I’m facing the following problem: My winter bikes (completely) stored at the tyre dealer no longer fit my new car. What now? I’m afraid that the nice people will charge me a lot of money for the disposal when I register. Therefore, I ask myself, should I not register? Or rather be fair? Does anyone have experience with this?

(hole circle 4x100 or 4x105?) in each case I will have to enter such rims? Wheel adapter/lock not permanently durable?
Servus! Was the last time at the tyre dealer to have the winter tires mounted. The fitter told me that I should replace the rim lock (the wheel screw for which this adapter is needed) with a normal screw. He would have experienced many cases in which this lock was turned round and the screw could not be opened any more. I wanted to ask if you have heard similar things? I actually assumed that this special screw and the Adapters should already be able to deactivate it…

Question on rim and ABE and optics
Hello, I need winter tyres or aluminium wheels for my new Alhambra and have a few questions. Lt. COC I can put the following rim 6.5×16 ET 33 on it. The selection of “honey” rims on the internet with the size is unfortunately limited. Now I have come across the following rim: MAM D2 in size 7.5Jx16H2 ET 37 The rim is a TÜV/ABE report according to §22 StVZO where my vehicle is listed. Is that enough now, or do I still have to go to TÜV again and have additional spare parts. The rim is 4mm further in the wheel box and is 10mm wider. So I have a kind of widening of the track by 6mm. If I now make the same tire on it, the bead that protects the rim is smaller or the risk of curb damage increases. Do I see this right? For a short answer or corresponding links already many thanks in advance !

Tyre talk
I’m going to open up a new topic for off-topic discussions, in which things can be talked about that don’t fit with the individual threads. (If this isn’t wanted by the moderation, that’s okay for me too – but these off-topic debates are always in the individual relevant threads.) I’m starting. I probably need some new winter tires this year and have asked for the prices at individual tyre dealers today. for buying stationary, but what some sellers tell you is a bit borderline. Some quotes from one of the phone calls: ‘Semperit is really good on snow, that is an Austrian company after all.’ Demand whether they are not just a brand of Continental: ‘No, they are independent.’ But I should nevertheless take Conti, because Semperit only rides well in the curves. ??? ‘Nokian I can’t recommend for winter tyres, that’s a cheap heart eller like Goodride, to use at most for summer tyres.’ ???? Another dealer told me that Nokian was a brand like platinum tires, qualitatively but clearly worse. Is that mere ignorance, or do sellers try to direct one to certain products? I have to say, however, that two of the four phone calls also went very well and constructively. Another good result is that I will probably actually come relatively cheap to good tyres. Price differences also in the individual chains (Vergölst, Euromaster) are partly surprisingly large.

Does it make sense to mount tunnel tyres on a normal car in winter?
To make it more concrete: I have a Volvo V70. Living a bit outside and can expect to have to drive on uncleaned roads in winter. I don’t care about a little increased fuel consumption or increased driving noise. I drive most of the distances under 15km, only three times a month a distance over 200km. I have found a tunnel tire that fits with my vehicle with a teorethically. It also has a M&S identifier. However, I can do little with the different hardness levels. n start (so clearly theoretically I can think of something, but what really makes it… no idea…) Or is it nonsense to mount such tires on a normal car in general? Is there even too much snow in the wheel boxes under circumstances? Edit: Actually I wanted to ask for this mature:http://www.bear-speed-parts.de/malatesta-m35-19560-r15.html the first mentioned (which is now under here) was actually intended as an alternative…http://www.bear-speed-part s.de/…/malatesta-polaris-19565-15.html

Ideal tyre width for rim width 8″ and 8.5″?
Halo, next year it should be new 19″ rims for my BMW. What I definitely want to avoid is that the rim “looks out” over the tire. This is not only optically unsightly, but also a real danger for the rim (bord stones). Speak from experience. I suspect that one can still take good for the 8″ 225, but for the 8.5″ it should certainly take 235. Unfortunately there are hardly 19″ the 8″ wide. 235 tyres are actually too wide for me. I also want to What do you think? Greeting Michael
