  • How do I register RS4 replica rims if I don’t have a TüV ???

Hello people, need your help urgently… Come from Luxembourg and have RS4 replica rims. Now I have the following problem: I don’t have a TüV, but I need to register it.. can I get the report to any TüV position in Germany?? Or how does that work exactly?? And if so, how much does the report cost? Need it for a GOLF4 from 2001. I searched the whole Internet however without a hit. I think you have to have a new report.. The other problem is that I find no manufacturer on the rims just so NUmmern and GERMANY. Here are the other data for the rims : TAH 3112 PCD 100 7.5 x 17H2 ET 35 H/H 57 P 20 GERMANY This is pressed into the rims. Thank you.

  • New summer tyres 235/40/R18?

Moin, I recently bought a Passat Variant R-Line BJ 2012 with 18 inch Mallory rims. Unfortunately, I am so not satisfied with the installed summer tires. 3x Continental SportContact 5 (from 2012 / approx. 35,000km) 1x Pirelli P Zero Nero GT front left (from 2017 / almost full profile / probably replaced due to a broken Contis). I am disturbed that on one axle 2 different tires are installed and that the Contis rear are extremely loud (probably sawtooth imagery). ng). What is the best way? Renewed all 4 tyres? Here I loved Hankook Ventus V12 Evo 2 K120, because C/A/70db buy 3x Pirelli P Zero Nero GT and drive one further? 1x Pirelli P Zero Nero GT and 2x Hankook Ventus V12 Evo 2 K120? Greetings from the far north.

  • What do you think of these “snow socks”? 🙂

These “snowsocks” as they are called, does any of you have these? So I don’t know…like it is that it works but…I can’t imagine the long one! Is probably only meant as an emergency aid or…? i.e. if you don’t get any more forwards on a slope you pull these “socks” quickly over the tires, so as a starting aid I think, and not to drive 100 kilometers with it

  • SLK 200: Wheel size WInter and summer

Good day, this week I bought a used SLK 200 (2/ 2014). Currently he has 17″ LMR with summer tires. Would like to drive the SLK also in winter and am in the process of ordering according to rims+tires. In the vehicle license 18″ with 225/40 and 245/35 are registered, but 17″ and also 16″ are also allowed according to the COC list. I have now three options: 1) 17″ summer tires leave so + 17″ LMR+Buy winter tires 2) 17″ summer tires leave so + 16″ LMR+Buy winter tires 3) 17″ Somme Have tires peel off and put on winter tyres + 18″ order again (for summer) Regardless of the price (whether 17″ or 18″ is marginal): what makes more sense in terms of driving comfort / safety? Have read several times for winter rather take smaller sizes (would mean option 2). On the other hand: 18″ with appropriate tyres should mean “more fun” in summer, or am I mistaken? Thank you for your efforts 😉

  • WR from Hankook or Continental – which one is better?

Hello, my Bridgestone WR are from 2011 and at about 6mm. At the moment I drive about 1000 km a month (Bundesstraße). Due to the age and because they have found quite loud this year, I play with the idea to miss my Smart new WR. VA: 155/60R15 HA: 175/55R15 My tyre center recommended the following tyres: – Hankook I’Cept rs2 (WR incl. reassembly, old tire disposal, wounds) for 290€ – Continental Wintercontact TS 800 FR (WR incl. reassembly, old tire disposal, wounds) for 390€ The tyre center said both brands were equally good. It is important to me that the WR is good in wet weather, because snow is rather the exception in the Rhineland. Overfreezing wet weather occurs more often. What experiences have you had with Hankook and Conti WR? Are both equally good in wet weather or is the Conti better? Thank you!

  • 5 years old completely new mature.

Hello guys, I just found out that I need new winter tires. Have looked for something online and already seen interesting. Need tires 215 70 R16, have found which ones have a DOT number 2012, the brand is Nokian, the tires are unused and are sold for 200 euro (4 pcs.). Same, but produced 16 or 17 cost around the 360-380 euro. The price difference is already quite large, but am not sure if it is worth buying the cheaper (older) ones. could still be used and about how long. Would be bad if I had to buy new ones again after 1-2 winter I would be happy about some opinions. Thank you in advance and have a nice weekend at all!

  • W202 / Tires / General questions

Servus people, This winter is my first winter with a rideable kit and I have some questions that I could not answer by struggling googling either. I recently had a small collision with the curb –> winter tires and steel rims to throw away. I now need a new rim with winter tires. Let’s get to the point: I have currently mounted the following on the rest of the wheels (have this information from the rear tyre right): steel rims 15 inches + Hankook 195/65/ R15 91V M+S Luckily had reserve wheel in the trunk (steel rim with winter tires) but the gentleman said of the breakdown help, I can not leave it mounted since the tire is for the left side) Now to the questions: How do I distinguish a left from a right tire? Can I mix different manufacturers on the front axle? Can I use tyres with different speed indices on the front axle. Opinions: –> According to the workshop, a new tire costs + rim* Mounting 150€ On the internet someone sells a steel rim + winter tire for 3O€ (CONTINENTAL WINTERREIFEN 195/65/R15/91T) Unfortunately, there is nothing more detailed in the description (except that it was a never used replacement in the trunk) What would you do? I am grateful for all the answers!

  • Do I need a new tyre dealer?

Hello all, I had to replace a rim with tyres (front right) at the end of the last winter season due to accident, therefore on the complete front axle new tyres and a rim new. The other axle still had a good 6 mm, so I didn’t touch them. Last week I had my winter tires put on again and since then I have noticeably louder driving noises (yes, I know the winter tires are usually louder, but never so strong). Especially if i I also had the feeling that they didn’t run completely round and therefore I went to the dealer again and wanted to have them balanced out again. He then meant that it wouldn’t be necessary, because that probably comes from the fact that the “older” tyres have now brought forward and the “newer” ones have put on the rear axle because “behind the better tyres”. I always thought it would be better to have the newer ones in front? (PS. Have Quattro Drive) He then said that this would happen over time… Does his statement fit or should I have the axles exchanged again and then look for another dealer? Thank you & Greeting Christian

  • Too little tire pressure, but not noticed?

Hello, I have registered here after frequent reading. I am Max , 20 years old, come from Minden (Westphalia) and currently drive a MX-5 of 99′. I was earlier at the gas station to check the air pressure. The device has on three wheels indicated 1,9 bar, except back left . 0,3 bar … Cann’t be that you see / notice … other tires 1,9. valve on corrosion or anything else… connector right pressed on the metal valve.. To my fr age it may be because of the relatively hard side walls of the tires (205ers with small cross-section on a 9J rim..) , since they are so stretched maybe that I don’t notice that? You have to notice that, I’m really not a layman now..as a car’s driver…
