  • Michelin

Hello to everyone! I added new Michelin Pilot Sport 3 (225 45-17) in late autumn and found out with the “early cleaning” of the summer bikes that the good ones are “Made in Brazil”, which has irritated me a bit. Not that I believe that the Brazilians can not also stick tires together but well . . . . In any case I have read here in the forum already something about these special tire identification numbers. Mine are E2 02 6553 / 02 08503 – S DOT 3R(8A) 01VX 34th week 2011 . the info, what can be derived from it, but no longer find. In any case: Has the tire fuzzi supplied me with any import goods of my trust or is it normal that I get Michelins from Brazil here in Germany ???? My last sentence Michelin PS3 was with me from Italy. Greetings for the weekend !

  • Winter tyres: Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D vs. Goodyear Ultra Grip 7 (+)

Hello, since I am looking for new winter tyres, I hope that I can be helped further here… As can be seen in the title, my decision is between the Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D and the Goodyear Ultra Grip 7 and 7+ respectively. Both of these tyres should be good and perform quite well in the tests; Dunlop with “especially recommended” at the ADAC Winter Tyre Test 2007 and the Goodyear at the AMS Winter Tyre Test. Now my question to you: Who can give me something? to the above mentioned tire reports or could they compare already? Important criteria in my decision are rolling noise and rolling resistance (possibly also wear). I would be pleased about your answers! Greetings, playa09 P.S.: the tire dimension is 205/55 R16

  • 0,2 bar extra tyre pressure

Hello, you always leave the tyre pressure to be increased by 0.2 bar above the maximum. Is that actually ok under insurance/traffic law? Isn’t the recommended tyre pressure binding? Lg christiansimon P.S.: What would you say about how much mm a tyre takes advantage of in a season (10.000 km)?

  • Physical question: why wide tires?

Hello together it is often talked about that one can brake and accelerate better with wider tires and drive faster through the curves. I thought about this and can’t quite explain why this should be so, because the formula for the friction force that can be transmitted is FR = [coefficient of friction]*[normal force] and neither the coefficient of friction nor the normal force depend on the rise surface. I can imagine these 3 possibilities at the moment. 1) Wide tires do not improve the braking distance etc. at all, as is always claimed, but simply have less wear and look good 2) It is not the transferable friction force, which represents the essential size for the above mentioned disciplines 3) The above formula is simplified school physics and the force actually calculates more complicated and also depends on the surface (does I think unlikely…) Maybe everything is also wrong, I hope someone has here more de A look through and can enlighten me! Greetings James B.

  • What is the legal situation regarding all-weather tyres (full-year tyres)

Hello municipality My rear tyres are more due than due. Due to my lowering, my vehicle looks somewhat neutered in winter when I mount the 195’ger steel rims. Therefore, my thinking prefers to invest in really good all-year tyres and continues to use the M68 rims in winter. Since I live in the north of Germany, I have max. 10-20 days a year snow and this is also usually only one day and only in very small quantities. Can someone on the S Chnelle say whether the all-weather tyres are accepted due to the new laws, or are insurance-technically only the winter tyres in case of insurance use “allowed”. Should all-year-round tyres be possible in use – has someone had good experience with a variety? If I don’t change the tyres/wheels anymore, it can also be a good and thus expensive product. Thank you already for your answers.

  • Recommendation regarding winter tyres vs. summer tyres

Hello, I’m in the Zwickmühle and don’t know yet how to solve this best. I have to go to Stralsund to the Bundeswehr on Monday (03.09.). That’s about 477km from me that I’m going to drive by car. Now I have the problem that I logically still have the summer tires on it. Well, the winter is almost at the door, will definitely break in when I’m up there and when it’s so far I don’t have the money to drive home by car. and back up again to make winter tires because you don’t get any more miles of money for the rides at home on the weekends but train tickets. What would you recommend me? Now already make winter tires on it even though it is very early and with it drive up? And if now gets really hot again from Monday? mfg

  • Tyres

I’d like to know what kind of tyres you’re riding and how happy you are with it. Drive Dunlop Sp Sport 9000, dry super, when wet I’m always afraid. If someone could say something about the Goodyear Eagle F1, I’d be very happy.

  • Which rims do you drive on your Audi’s?

Hey people, I’ve been having an S4 B7 avant for about 2 months! Now I bought a Kw thread and now all I need is the right 20 inch… That’s also my question, what are you all driving for sweeps? Mfg Jackson

  • Tyre brand free selection ??

Hi, dear Leut… My question to you. I have on my Vectra 8.5×17 inch rims with Uniroyal Rainsport2 215-45-17 81W tires on it. Now I have noticed today that the rear tires have driven off because of the lowering inside. I would like to change them tomorrow. I am not happy with these tires either. They are too loud. As far as I know, you can pull the mark on it any way. Make identical tires on it per axle. Now my real question: Do I have to have the same brand dr on pull ? Or is it allowed me to pull every brand on it ? The size must stay the same !? Please for advice Thank you
