Hi, for the new addition in the fleet, a VW Phaeton with V6 TDI from 2011, must have been winter bikes in autumn. Rims are not yet available, whether original VW or not is relatively irrelevant, but here it should be about the tires. Priority No. 1 is the mileage. The car is not sporty, it must eat kilometers. In winter 15,000-20.000 on often wet highways. Rarely really in the snow. Priority No. 2: It must be a tire of a well-known manufacturer (I avoid knowing t the word “premium manufacturer”. Prügelharte Chinapneus, which hold 200,000 kilometers, but have zero grip, come in no way into question. Questions: – Does anyone have experience with winter tyres in this dimension/weight class? Just come in with it! – Does anyone have experience with the Michelin Pilot Alpin in particular? The Michelins are known as balanced tyres with a slope too high mileage, at least in summer. Does this also apply to winter tyres? – Does it make sense, instead of H-tires possibly V- To take tires because of the somewhat harder rubber compound? Price is not an issue for now. Thanks already, fire free Edit: The winter complete wheels of VW would have been matured with Pirelli Sottozero 3, what do you say to them?

Original Tesla rim (18″) damaged by the rim mounter
Hi dear forum members! I’m new here, I’ve been driving a Tesla Model 3 SR+ since July and I’ll never give up the car again! :-). Since it looks like a bit of Mau with rims from alternative manufacturers at the moment, I decided to have winter tires re-mounted to the original Tesla 18″ rims. And that’s where there were problems. The tyre mounter slipped off with his Montier iron and damaged the rim horn. At the same time, the machine turned a little further. The inner rim horn on the inside of the vehicle / rim inside is affected. This can happen naturally. Now the question arises whether I should be satisfied with a repair of the rim proposed by the fitter at the rock dome. The following things I see as problematic when repairing: Possible color differences to the other rims rim horn may suffer more than 1mm damaged (so lost with approval) winter resistance, varnish can be removed in 2-3 years I would much prefer a new rim. New rim costs 285€ + VAT. How would you act in this situation? Would you respond to his proposal or ask for a new rim? Thank you already in advance! 🙂

Alternative to Sottozero
Hello community, my little Diva needs new winter shoes (socks/rings stay ^^) – front they were as good as down (~2mm), back right a nail had crept in as a blind passenger. Ergo: four times new please. So far I have the Pirelli Sottozero in 205/40 R17 on it and in principle with them also been satisfied… maybe a tick too high wear… but for that super traction m.M.n. Does of you have a good alternative? The nexes are inexpensive (there you get s 1 equals 2 tires and saves 20€!!), but the tests did not do so well, the Sottozero were better. And at the wrong end (especially for safety) you should not save!! Greetings

Question about West Lake tires
Hello, I bought a used car from the VW dealer (Skoda Octavia II Combi). For this new TÜV and AU was agreed. Since the tyres were already quite worn out, these were replaced by new tyres. Now to my problem: Before on the vehicle Bridgesstone Potenza were in the dimension 205-55 R16. As replacement tyres West Lake Radial SP06 were raised. It seems that this tyre is a cheap tyre, via which I can not find much on the Internet. nn (except for shop statements). Yesterday I did not look at the type of tyre exactly. Since I drive very much and quickly on the highway, however, tyres with sufficient safety reserves on dry and wet road are very important to me. I actually expected tyres in original equipment. What do you say and how would you behave in my place to the dealer. Can someone give me helpful information about the manufacturer and the tyre, possibly ogar tire tests to the manufacturer in general and the tire? Thank you. Gruss Dominik

Experience with NEXEN N’Fera SU 4
Hello together, next to the NEXEN N’Fera SU 1, I would like to open my own thread for the NEXEN N’Fera SU 4 and inform you about my first experiences. About Reifensuche.com I ordered for my Mazda 3 BL 2.2 Diesel (185 HP) 4 new NEXEN in size 205/50R17W. The tyres were delivered this Monday and raised on the same day. The tyre profile looks m.M.n. sporty. The profile depth in new condition is approx. 7.5 mm. My first conclusion is “not bad at all!”. The N’Fera SU 4 rolls clean and comfortable. No disturbing noises are transmitted into the passenger compartment, neither when driving over gulli lids or cross joints. But this can also be due to the fact that the Mazda 3 is quite tight and I have become accustomed to the noise scene. This can be different with other types of far goods and other tyre dimensions. Of course I can’t say anything about wear and tear. It’s great weather right now and I’ll drive the tyres in a reasonable way. As soon as I’ve completed more kilometers and experienced various weather conditions, I’ll keep you up to date. You’ll find various photos in the appendix.

CR 90 rims
Hello! I bought used rims for my Omega B, only unfortunately I have no ABE or similar for it, and the manufacturer is no longer available! And since there is no KBE number on the rims I also have no chance at the TÜV. Now I wanted to ask if anyone else has something here for the rims? Would you like to drive the original tires in size 225/55-16! The rims have the dimensions 9×16 ET25 manufacturer and or type is CR 90! Gruss, Carsten

Storage of tyres in a storage container
Hello people, I am a hobby screwdriver and I have to buy for tyres, spare parts and varnish / oils with a storage container. For storage of hazardous substances – I have read on the Internet that you as a private person also need a “dangerous container F90” (cause to worry is that the container is placed directly at the neighboring border and I do not really understand with the neighbors “lawyer”). For example hazardous material container — such a container is price-priced more expensive w he normal storage containers. Does anyone have any experience here whether a normal storage container is sufficient for storage of paint and oil? e.g.: http://lagerkontainerxxl.de/lagercontainer I do not want legal advice, but only an information from the practice.

TWIN BUSCH tools
Hello, I hope someone can help me. I made myself independent with a small tyre trade. I have an old Corghi Montier machine up to 17″, but now I want to get something bigger. The best thing is clearly a Hofmann or Beissbarth machine but for the beginning it’s just too expensive for me. Now I wanted to know if someone has experience with Twin Busch tools – especially Montiermaschinen? Thank you so much

Use time of tires?
Hello together, on our Golf IV are now to mount the summer tires again. Since low km performance still exists sufficient profile. However, the tires are now 6 years old. Is there a meaningful usage time or do the parts age so that you have to buy a new set despite sufficient profile? It greets Armin
