  • Do I really need winter tires?

I live in Spain, Palencia, Castilien at the moment and after 2 years. The weather here is about like this (for comparison, Mannheim) ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————- Otherwise it is up to -12o cold, in January almost every day minusteperature and 5o-10o a day; ice rain is not known here. I drive only 5 km to work. If it snows roads are cleaned only after long hours, and then they are often felt, most because trucks do not keep the driving ban. Video . Last year I had a few problems (close I do not want to stay at home and drive, even if it is really cold and snows, 200 km to the Fam ilie), so that I wanted to do something for this year. My signum had to go, and I decided for a Volvo XC70, Ocean Race Edition. The tires are Pirelli Scorpion Zero Assimmetrico on 17. rims. Last year I decided to buy winter tires, but now I have my doubts and wanted to ask only here whether you think the winter tires are necessary or useful for this cold but low snow climate, or that a 4×4 car with “some” terrain suitable tires Everything is relative, but with your opinion, as you generally have much more experience with winter tires and snow, I can make a better decision.

  • When changing tyres from front to rear?

Hello, dear Mitcaddyists, I have a question about the wear and tear of the tyres. My Caddy Maxi has been running since March 2008 with mileage 75000 km, I have DUNLOP SP SPORT 07 summer tyres 205/55 R 16 94H with max. load 670 kg. Front 5 and rear 6 mm. When changing in 2009, the VW workshop did not change the rear tyres forward. When changing in 2010, I now insisted on changing from rear to front. Now I have loud rolling noises of the former rear tyre, which now mounts in front. According to information from the workshop, frequent driving in empty condition builds up a bridge on the inside of the rear tyres, which leads to these loud rolling noises on the front axle. Can anyone confirm this from the forum? Do the tyres have to be changed from the rear to the front or do they always have to stay behind or in front? Would be nice if someone could write something to me.

  • Influence of rim size on driving performance

Hello to the forum, for years it is known that larger rims have an influence on the driving performance. But how high is this really? This interested me so that I have started a small comparison.VideolinkI. General conditions 1. Measuring device was measured my attempt with a Racelogic Performance Box, a GPS-based measuring system that is thus also used by magazines & co. 2. Vehicle & Co hazards was measured with a Mercedes E500 W212, a V8 BiTurbo with 408hp and 600Nm. Of course, loading, distance, temperatures, settings, fuel etc. were kept as identical as possible and measured with both wheel sizes within one hour. II. Result 1. Measurement values The mass of the wheels was first recorded on a household car.The 18″ sports pack wheels of the E-Class W212 are comparatively light with 21.6kg! Significantly heavier the 19″ wheels of the SL R231 with up to 26kg. On the clock immediately 7% worse acceleration values -and the whole The faster you drive, the clearer the difference becomes. 2. Subjective Also from the feeling the car with 18″ is much more splashy. It speaks much faster and even the switching processes work even more fluffy! It is thought that the box weighs easily 100kg less.

  • RAV4 grim theme Run Flat and winter bikes

Toyota is ridiculing itself this winter. You don’t have to discuss the for and again the grim topic of their Run Flat system at RAV4, but that they are not even able to deliver winter bikes for it now, shoots the bird off somewhere. After I was told by 2 dealers that the Toyota this year did not offer winter bikes in the standard tire size for my car, I got the following mail today from Toyota Germany: Quote:Good day Mr. XXXX, thank you for Your e-mail. Referring to your request, we regret to inform you that for logistical reasons, TOYOTA Deutschland GmbH no longer offers an 18-inch winter complete wheel. Currently, we offer for the RAV4 2.2 D-CAT Executive as a winter complete wheel a tire size 235/60 R16H on original rim size 7J x 16 (including tyre pressure sensor and without emergency running characteristics). Therefore, in case of a tyre breakdown at a danger point (for example Autob ahn) a spare wheel or a tire repair set are carried. More information is available to our TOYOTA dealers. We hope that we could contribute with our lines to the clarification and wish you always good ride. Best regards, your TOYOTA Deutschland GmbH XXXXXXX customer servicequotation end That means in plain language… –> There are no Toyota winter bikes in the standard tire size with the actually standard Run Flat System –> Also di e offered 16″ wheels have no run flat, spare wheel or repair kit must be carried simply a joke the whole, you decide for a safety system (about which for and again please do not discuss ) and then must completely do without it in winter. THANK YOU TOYOTA !!! for this beautiful …… Greetings Afralu

  • Audi A8 was paint damage at the vehicle conditioner – all four rims afterwards

Hi guys, I have problems with the Barracuda rims of my Audi A8 BJ 2003. And that was the vehicle from the last Thursday morning until the following Friday evening with a vehicle conditioner. There I completely cleaned the vehicle, carried out leather care and had paint polish all over it. When I picked up the vehicle from there last week, I was totally thrilled: the complete paint flashed and shone in the sun like a new car. Inside the vehicle also saw how new a Today, at work, a colleague said: “Tell me, do you know that your four rims are covered with paint?” I first thought about how the paint goes off. So I went down to the vehicle and almost hit me: On all four rims the paint is spacious. Before I brought the vehicle to the vehicle conditioner, it was definitely not like that. I even have a photo from the wheel at the rear left, so from just before. You can see, when you zoom in, that all i n order is with the rim. Unfortunately, the previous photo is shot sideways, because at the time I actually photographed the carrosserie because of what else, but the rim is also randomly on the photo. There, despite the bad angle of view with zoom, you can see that everything was fine with the rim. Here are some previous/after photos: Before rim back right: Click me afterwards rim back right: Click me After rim front right: Click me The car was mainly there because of the car series polish, which is why I noticed it only today. Can that be that they built shit while cleaning it? How can this come about? Is it possible that the car was not the same as the car, because I was always happy with the rims and because I didn’t bring the vehicle to the vehicle.

  • Problem with stored rims

I got the following rim back from my tire storage. Looks like there’s something burned in it. Do you get rid of something like that again? If yes, with what? Thank you for tips! Steffen

  • After using a breakdown spray tire over?

Got a question, my husband has a flat foot on his car. He bought a spray, Holt’s tire pilot, which is filled in the tires to drive to the next tire handle. There he was told that if the milk is in the tire, the tire would not be repaired any more. On the can, however, it was written that the tire can be repaired afterwards. What’s right now? Does the tyre dealer want to sell him a new tire, or is the tire actually no longer available? also? Greeting rena48

  • Tyre splitter

Good morning people, yesterday I had a rather annoying tire breakdown, I was on the highway the whole tires “zerfleddert” . I noticed for a long time nothing, in the morning in the hectic the tires did not check, 5 km to the highway (Tempo 30-70) and then again roughly 8 km to the highway. After about 5-6 km on the highway I noticed a right dribble, but I mistakenly pushed it to a track adjustment. Shortly afterwards the car became very loud and funny, I thought it was I came out of the engine compartment and wanted to drive the next one out, because it got louder and louder I was then on the right and saw that the tire was gone. Now the tires were already a little older (7 years), but we had no signs of porosity when changing 4 weeks ago, the tread of the tire is not damaged, so no nail or something, the flank was just totally smashed. Now we have due to an incident the bad guess that the tire was stabbed overnight e and I didn’t realize that. Do you think this is possible or would you have noticed something much earlier?

moin moin bin bin bei der Suche nach einem winterreifen für meine volvo v50 mehrstückt über den “imperial snowdragon 3” stolkt, with scarcely 80€ he is one of the cheapest and according to “label” he has in the driving behaviour on snow/nasty class “C” (of a-g) … find however no test report about the mature, which makes me very stubborn! my problem is that I currently have only 18 inch to hand and I do not have a lot of choice in the size range, so the 225/40s are ripe which I have a Genuinely not for the winter wanted to take at the moment first choice, 195ers unfortunately do not fit on it and all other sizes are rather inaccessible and therefore cost directly good 40% more already someone experiences or maybe even a test report that I have overlooked ready? am very grateful for any tips and linsk! ps: http://www.motor-talk.de/…/…5-65-stahlfelge-lk-5×108-t4259401.html

  • a tyre defective – from how much mm profile depth difference does it make sense to replace both?

Hello, is it already in the title, a tire is irreparably damaged. Am I now considering whether I can replace only one or the same one. What do you think? How much mm difference on an axle are no longer meaningful? Thank you
