  • Felt crooked

This morning I brought my rims and tires to the workshop so that they could finally be reared. All new parts. In the afternoon I got the call that a rim is totally crooked. Now I wonder how something like this can happen. They were completely new and were always transported in the cardboard box. Now I can go there tomorrow, pick them up and slap the ATU guys on the counter. I’m curious if they turn themselves in stupid. Even if they don’t, I’m sure I’ll be able to w Is it possible to find out whether the new rim is ok or do I have to go back to the workshop? Is there always a few km for driving. Can you ask ATU for the costs incurred, such as the (unnecessary) workshop costs? Actually I make a big deal around the shop, but in this case the offer was too good. Well.

  • New summer tyres

Hello, I need some help in finding new summer flaps for my Ibiza FR 2.0 TDI! I’ve run out of original equipment tires (Bridgestone Potenza RE50 A) and the parts are sawing ORDERLY. You can choose from the following tyres: – Bridgestone Potenza RE50 A (the same one I’ve had so far) – Goodyear Efficient Grip – Dunlop SP Sport Maxx – Continental PremiumContact 2 What are your experiences? o Rim protection means that the tire is slightly above the rim. Doesn’t that look like shit? Thank you for your help ) PS: Tyre size 215/40 R17

  • ADAC summer tire test 2013 Math Master at work!

Hello together, I have taken a closer look at the summer tyre test 2013 by ADAC, because I need new summer tyres again. I noticed that the grades of the sub-ranges are no longer directly visible. You have to click on the tyres in the overview to get to the ADAC rating of the sub-ranges. I noticed. All “good” graded tyres were calculated exactly according to this method (page shows explanation. However, on the ADAC page itself is also so visible ) -> Link calculation method to get to the overall grade. As I said the overall grade of the “good” found was correct after purchase. Rounding exactly. All tires that were rated with satisfactory or worse… well, I should say that those who have calculated probably had other numbers or unlisted additional bases available. In the picture attachment an example where at least the overall grade was still satisfactory. Here the source for the tire ADAC Nexen N8000 Here the If you were to recalculate the whole test, based on the correct formula and the grades listed by ADAC, the rating list would look different. I don’t mean to say that ADAC does really make good tyres bad or the other way around. The order of the test results already only the overall scores would be different. The table would look a bit more friendly and the over comments/opinions/explanations/criticism would be softer greeting GBN

  • Tyre change with or without rims?

Hello guys. I have a 2012 SLK 55 AMG and am currently thinking about whether I should get complete bikes for the winter or rather just the tyres (i.e. two times a year tires down from the rims and back on them). Now some will say: Sure, complete wheels, is much easier etc.. The problem is that the rims for the AMG are very expensive and I therefore consider whether there is not a reasonable alternative solution. By the way, steel rims can be forgotten, there are I was last at the Mercedes dealer, he made me a “special offer” for complete bikes: limp 3000€. There I get 3-4 tire sets for! In addition, I find that the offered rims do not necessarily fit so well with my car optically (felt light grey, car white with black accents, well). At the moment I have black rims and find them great, only such rims would cost me 350€ + tires. Then I also have myself with various tyre dealers on the topic of Kompl There is the problem, that it is very difficult to come to suitable rims, since the AMG is already a rather rare car. And even if you find suitable rims, the question arises to me: Is it really reliable on these rims? After all, the car is able to build up a huge torque and drives 280 km/h max. There you do not want to risk a break or otherwise in the middle of the highway. Therefore I would like to ask the experts among you if it is wise to It would always be only with one set of rims to drive and to always get the tires new, balanced out etc.. How strong are the tires damaged? I heard, some people do that. Greetings Andy

  • Gambit wheels from Schmidt

Happy Christmas in the round, since at the moment all shops and the TÜV are closed the following question here in the MT to you: I am interested in Gambit rims from Schmidt. In the search on their web-site the following wheel/tire combination is shown for my vehicle: VA: 8,5Jx20H2 ET 38, with 245/35R20 tyres. HA: 10Jx20H2 ET 50, with 275/30R20 tyres. The tyres correspond to the standard tyres. Now I could take over from a familiar favorable: Gambit Fel set in VA: 10Jx20H2 ET 25, with 265/35R20 tyres HA: 10Jx20H2 ET 50, with 295/30R20 tyres What do you think: could this combination also go on my vehicle? Of course I would only realize this with TÜV registration. Since I can only clarify this in a few days, my question to you in advance. Another question: The Gambit rims are available in black and silver. Are the rims basically suitable for winter use? There is nothing on the website. Thank you

  • Question on tyre repair

Hello, unfortunately it caught me and I drove with a nail into the tires, fortunately very clean in the middle of the tread. So I drove briefly to the friendly dealer and he wanted to look. 10 minutes (!!!) later he came back to me and said it would be repaired. I think, yes great and driving cheerfully from Hof. Somehow I found the repair right quickly and Googled once. There are different procedures of repair. So I heu Is it possible that a Kia Optima GT, V-Max according to the papers 235 km/h, the tyre is one with the identification Y, up to 300 km/h. Is such a reliable thing? Had read that such a thing was only an emergency solution and that the tyre had to be replaced immediately…?!?

  • Goodyear Eagle F1 asym. 3 or Michelin PSS for M5 E39

I’m looking for new summer tires in size 245/40 R18 and 275/35R18. At the back would also go 285 or maybe even 295 as the fenders are pulled. Last year the car drove still 285/30 R19. I bought again styling 65 original rims, the rear are probably not so wide that 285 or 295 are recommended. Goodyear Eagle F1 asym 3: – less dry Grip + approx. 680Fr. + better when wet + longer durability + usable rim protection + good test results (behind SC5, before Dunlop and Pirelli) Michelin PSS – less grip when wet – approx.800Fr. + more dry Grip + supposedly the holy grail of the sports tires + supposedly wider than other summer tires The car is my summer car, it probably comes in a better chassis and a VMax distance. The car is used as a fun car. What would you recommend to me? What are your recommendations?

  • An interesting article on microplastic abrasion of car tires

I was astonished, so cars would have to become smaller, lighter and less powerful…. Greetings, the. Bazihttps://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/…/

  • Tips for the first rim purchase

Hey, I’m driving a used Opel Astra J 1.4 Turbo 140PS BJ:2011. Now for the summer session I want to buy visually appealing rims+tires. Whether new or used, I don’t care, but at least here in the area I don’t find any suitable ones. Therefore, I tend to buy new ones because the selection is simply bigger. Budget is so 800eu. But where do you buy new complete bikes? On the Internet, at the local dealer (Borbet is around the corner with me) or at such large companies w ie ATU? I can also get the assembly myself if necessary. Should you consider anything else during the purchase, except that the rims naturally fit? I want to get 17` with 225/45 or 215/45. Can you recommend tyres for my car? Would be grateful for any help. Also a useful link or something!
