Different old rims on one axle
Hello guys, I unfortunately drove into my Alufelge VL a bump. Repair, if at all possible, does not pay off (new rim costs 80€). Now my question: Can I now drive two differently old but identical rims on the front axle? The tire is still fine and would just replace the rim. Thanks

Tyres for wet meadow
Hello, I’m new here and new to the four-wheel drive. I bought a 2007 CRV Diesel and need summer tyres. Winter tyres on rims are on it. I’ve already read a lot in the net, but I can’t go any further. Drive about 25,000 km/year and have nothing to do with the terrain. When I read tests of road tyres, the result is always good in the light terrain in the dry. In wet weather conditions. My wish is a road tyre with which I can drive with the trailer into a wet meadow. I think that with normal summer tires the four wheel in wet grass doesn’t get much further than a front drive. Hang now on all-year tires (only for the summer). Is there any good advice from you? If someone still has wheels left, I am happy about an offer. Greetings from the beautiful Allgäu Martin

Tyre flank – crack
Hello, I noticed today that my tyre has a small crack on the back right. Is this crack unproblematic, or rather let it be replaced? Have a tyre warranty from BMW with me. Don’t think it’s damaged but it’s safe. Thanks

When are you gonna do it?

Need new hub lid with VW logo
hi, I need for my alutec storm 17″ wheels, new hub covers from VW. the problem is that the people at VW “allegedly” do not have any details to measure the covers, so I have to order on suspicion which ones at vw and if these do not fit I still have to buy them (so the type at vw).I want to buy these here -> https://lh6.googleisercontent.com/…/Photo052.jpg original vw of course the problem is just the size, outside diameter of my current hub covers is 59-60mm, inside measuring r is 51-52mm (unfortunately have no measuring slider to hand, therefore only measured with a linear) here the whole again as picture:

Original rim or third party – what’s better?
Hello everybody, I’m new here in the forum. After having driven around the last few years primarily at zroadster, I had to exchange my BMW Z4 for a Mercedes GLC due to family growth two months ago. Now I’m currently looking for winter tyres and would have a general question: I hear from many people that they would only buy original rims of the manufacturer. Basically, this doesn’t sound wrong, but they often seem to me a little too bad. What does it actually say against third-party rims? And are there third-party providers with a good price-performance, which can be bought without hesitation? OZ and BBS are known to me and I would not have any doubts about the quality, but the price is usually very high. How are providers like AEZ, Alutec, Uniwheels, Rial or MAM to estimate? Do you get good quality for the money or have to be afraid that the rims at h Is there any speed or full braking around the ears? Thank you very much, Martin.

Tyres rotate with front/back wheel drive: why just so?
Some recommend to replace the wheels of a vehicle gradually, so that they wear more evenly. Here it is not about the sense or nonsense of this practice. If each (direction-free) wheel is to be used in each place, there are essentially two ways to rotate the tyres: (1) You mount the previous front wheels at the rear, and the previous rear wheels at the front, whereby you also switch left and right with the previous *back wheels*. (2) The previous front wheels are mounted in the rear, and the previous rear wheels in the front, whereby the previous *front wheels* are also switched left and right. Now to my question: Schema 1 is recommended for front wheel drive and Schema 2 for rear wheel drive. E.g. here or here. I imagine that the difference between 1 and 2 is only minimal, but there must be some reason that it is recommended in general. Does anyone know why?

Tyres <5 years premature porous
Good morning together I have noticed an unusual phenomenon with my new used summer bikes. The tyres are not yet 5 years old, but look like 10+ years… Such tyres should be replaced safely, but I wonder how such a rapid aging can occur at all? Were they driven hot, too little air, wrong storage?

“GT RADIAL” equivalent to “PIRELLI”?
Hey guys, I got 2 new tires today from the brand “GT RADIAL” and the tire series is called “Champiro 128”. The fitter told me that the brand is as good as “Pirelli”. Is that true? I had never heard of “GT RADIAL” before and could not really make me smart with Google either. I had two “Pirelli” tires before. And the other two are now also “Pirelli”. I know, is now a little bit bit of information, but I just want to know if it’s a good idea. not just a cheap brand or something. MfG Tim
