Hello people, as in the retrofit thread (http://www.motor-talk.de/showthread.php?… and others), many complain about the chassis of the 9-3. Thanks to Kater and 93tid we now know that a lot of different chassis were installed in the 9-3 (springs + dampers) – the spring code (to be found in the engine compartment on the sign with the chassis number) gives information about it. I thought it would be helpful if we just put together the different codes and vehicle data here. n see if there are systematic differences, e.g. between Anniversary Petroler and Diesel. I am not so dissatisfied with my chassis and would install H&R springs primarily because of the optics. So here are the relevant data of my car: Spring code: AY-BE-G-B-T-X Model year: 2002 Engine: 2,2TiD Design: Coupe rims: delivered with 17″ I think this is the most important or what could still play a role? Is at least already noticed that I have other springs on the Vod I’m curious what you’ve got to offer

Shock absorber absorber ROSSED
Hello, I wanted to report here what happened to me last week. I drive with my car and hear at the front right a shuffling sound.I thought that the shock absorber is defective because it is still the first. After I then raised the car at home with the jack, I saw the sound: the shock absorber sits in a tube inside the spring leg.It is held in this tube by a mother. Now underneath this mother the pipe is rusted and the damper hangs Now my question: Who has experienced similar things and how did SAAB behave? Despite the high mileage (213,000km) my dealer has applied for a bulwark and after first telephone calls with Rüsselsheim there is even hope. How can something like this happen. They give 6 years guarantee against rusting and after 5 years the chassis falls apart. I will set up a picture in the next few days and keep you informed. One more comment: I had been in Graz two days before the damage by car (960km journey distance) and then I was frightened when the damage occurred. Greetings from Lower Rhine Hans SAAB 9-3 2.2 TiD Mj.00 213,000 km

2.2 TiD: impact damage at 120tkm
Hello Saab community, it caught my ’99s 9-3 TiD: Sudden clacking in the cylinder head, diagnosis shock damage. What is surprising to me is that this happens already at 120tkm, although the car is only moving gently + long distance, oil change all 10tkm. My question: If I have the shocks changed properly, it is to be feared that further damage occurs promptly, i.e. increased risk of damage? Or is the engine still good for 300tkm? Maybe I have to auc h just debit under the heading bad luck. The used car warranty runs only a few months, therefore my slight restlessness. Thank you for reply! Greetings Xyacht

Track broadening
Track broadening 9-3, year 2001 After complaining about the driving behaviour with 17″ rims, I think about whether I keep the 16″-Anniversary rims at my 9-3 TiD Anniversary for the first time and mount a track broadening (the rims are unfortunately a bit narrow…). At Ebay, H&R-30mm tracks are regularly offered for approx. 99,-€. Has anyone already gained experience with them? Do you see the difference at all? Is there any other advance or night? Thank you.

Search Saab part number Viggen brake discs
Hello, I ordered 4 brake discs for my Viggen at my glorious Saab center last week. When I wanted to pick them up this morning, I of course looked into the cardboard box (I’m just a burnt child) and found out: There are no slots – so there are no Viggen brake discs. Could someone here tell me the part number of the correct discs (with slits)? Thank you! Gruss, Philip

The grievous theme 17″ and the press-in depth
Hello, since I want to install now 17″ I have actually searched for a lot in the forum. Unfortunately not found anything suitable. Tires should be 215-45R17 91Y Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3. The Saab 17″ rims are already registered with me in the bill with 7×17 ET42 or 45 (Double 3 Spoke and Edition Felge) and 7.5×17 ET 42 (5 Spoke Viggen Felge) Now there are however very nice 7.5×17 rims e.g. from OZ, but they have an ET of 35, which is still 12mm further to the outside, than the Saab Felg Has someone mounted something like this and can say whether it goes without modifications on the wheel houses (especially front, because there is somehow more space in the back). An 8×17 can be forgotten with a 215 Refen anyway, there the rim is over over the tire outer edge ….. About Tips I would be happy Thank you.

Workshop costs
Hello dear Saabgemeinde, I have been driving a 900 SE convertible V6 for 3 weeks now. Since the Fz. ran about 96000 km and had no Saab service in the last 2 years, I ordered today in the local Bosch workshop the following: Change timing belts (incl. tensioning rollers) Change timing belts (incl. tensioning rollers) Change air conditioning cleaning and filling oil change incl. filter Gear oil change Change brake fluid Change brake linings rear Change pollen filter Change air filter il spark plugs change disc wiper blades change “lubrication service” to cover, doors, hoods… The estimate is incl. Ust. to approx. 980 Euro. The ACC blower (it still runs thanks to your help) is checked again. A new one from Hella costs 115 Euro plus Ust. I mean, a fair price. Greeting Robert11 P.S. Have I forgotten something important? P.P.S. Already the predecessor fz., a 9000er Bj.91 was waiting here.

Saab 9.3 2.2L TD makes black clouds motor light burns
Hello Saab friends, I have a problem with my Saab Bj.99 2.2 TD. I drove quite fast the other day on the highway, and about 180 there was a small bang and the power had fallen by 50%, as well as significant black clouds in the re-gas gave behind me the sight impaired. Now my neighbor told me that possibly the air quantity meter could be defect, said exchanged, now the black clouds are almost gone but the performance is still bad. At the cold start it goes c a 2 min normal but then the moto lamp lights up. Is it possibly the diesel filter? And how can I change it, or what does it cost in the workshop. I am grateful about every advice.

Summer ice creams: V or W – are there any differences?
Hello together, since my summer tires are definitely hniüber I just ordered from atu new ones. now 215/45 ZR 17 W 87 are on it. I drive eni 93er cabrio with hirsch performance, built year 2000. but since I would not drive more than 240 I decided for the v variant. thus I save 20 euro. so far I drive rather comfortably, i.e. maximum 180. now I have thought that the 20euro to save is talk, if it would be better to raise the w again. therefore to r security menie question: are there further, important differences between the letters up to the higher speed? or would I have real disadvantages when selling again? thank you very much, i. p.s.: ordered the uniroyal rains sport2. my driving performance is around 6000km/year. ordered at atu because the mature is flat, I don’t get the bike and atu is only 1000m away from my house. I still want to risk this with the plate mature. reifen.com was 9km away.

Buy Saab 93 Cabrio
I have to say that whenever I see one on the road, I have to turn around after that. The 93 convertible is still one of the top cabrios for me. Especially the rear and the leather headrests. I think I’m going to go straight to a .b if I only consecrate the convertible further. Sorry, earlier contributions are up to 8 years old “Asbach-Uralt”. In the 80s a neighbor had a Saab Turbo? I think. Since the I have never lost sight of the 93. From the private environment only two who drive Saabs know. One the new convertible and the other the combi of it. I find the old body much better. And still wants to drive the old body until there is no good in a few years. By the way, I am interested in the smallest with 150hp engine. Here in Switzerland there are some top needed / full equipment. I would like to learn a lot from you trolls, which is more useful; 0. Wech 1. What are the usual defects, what you have to pay attention to. 1. Automat – manual circuit. How high is the consumption. 2. Gives problems with the respective transmissions. 3. Maintenance intervals like. Timing belts water pump etc. 4. Service costs like oil etc. 5. How reliable is the e-deck. 6. For me the audio system is very important: the AS3 CD, this is the top version. I expect a top sound when driving on an open deck. I would be very grateful to you for your help. PS: By the way I am 35 and bachelor and the 93 convertible will be my 1st Saab. Greetings LordNikon99
