Hallows together. Since the beginning of July 04 I can also count myself among the Saab owners. I bought an Aero (04.2002) with about 4400km as a demonstration car. Current mileage 12800. Sunday evening, message from the info display; refilling cooling water. My thought was; hm already now?!? I wanted to make sure how much water is needed when driving home and parking. Now comes the hammer; yawning teaching in the system!!!! The TCS (ADAC) meant it was around the water pump which The garage meant the same thing and changed it, with the explanation, defective due to damage to the condition. Now my question to you: – Can this really be?? – Is this a well-known Saab problem (water pump) ? The repair amount is about 500 SFr. (330EUR) The workshop is now trying to take part of the amount at Saab on kulanz, which I hope very much. I assume that this is a slip of my Saabinchen. Gruss, Oli

Saab 93 154 PS and Hirschmann. Big problem
3 weeks ago, I bought a Saab 93 Bj. 2000 with 154 Ps and Hirschmann tuning on 222 HP, with 58000 km. Unfortunately, I have a huge problem with the vehicle. From the third gear when I get right on the gas, it falls into a power hole at exactly 3200 revolutions. It is not a normal turbo hole but a really massive dropout. It slows down for a short time and does not deliver any performance. After this dropout it moves properly. So as I said it is neither in the he I had the car here with my Saab dealer who unfortunately has no idea what’s going on with it and is desperately looking for a mistake. The master here probably also knows less about the Hirsch tuning sentence. My private email is -edit, wvn – private mail address removed – I am happy about all the posts here. many thanks in advance.

!Brake lamp on in curves
Salut municipality for a few days it is more and more common with my Saabinchen that the Brake lamp lights up during bends (circular etc.) and the red exclamation mark. Also after it still Ding-Dong. At straight drive the light only goes on when I brake strongly. So I looked at the stand of the brake fluid first. So stands between Min and Max. Fits. Cover I also screwed up and shaked. The float also does not hang. the liquid was quite dirty. But was changed at the last service (May 2004). Then I made a visual inspection of the front documents. The external documents still look good, there is still material on it. I can look bad at the inner ones. Also the brake discs look good. Can it be that the inner brake pads are covered faster than the outer ones??? That would be rather uncool, would mean that the brake pulls on one side. ung?? Can I check something or do I have to go back to the nice guys in St.Gallen??

Alternator defective?
Dear Saab experts, my 93 TID from 2001 has the following problem: If I go off the gas at higher speeds and just let it roll, then my complete fixture lighting and the dipped light will become darker. Until I give a bit of gas again. For example, if I just let it roll out from 140 to 100 on the track. I had it checked by the workshop. With the result: your alternator is defective (once it loads, sometimes it doesn’t). We should exchange it urgently! e alternator in exchange should cost approx. 650 €, so first of all a kulanzfrage asked… so far no feedback yet. A friend said to the Sympton now: This could also be the coals of the alternator and that can be exchanged at a Bosch (it is probably one). That would probably be a lot cheaper, than to dive the whole thing. At the pharmacy price… Does anyone know the problem here? Could it really be the coals? Have now 85T KM down and just left the Protection out (so ́n crap). I am grateful for any help. Greetings Axel

…and tires again…
A nice evening on all sides!, I know that the topic has been chewed through here several times, but still risk opening up a new thread: after about 90,000km the tires (I guess it’s still the tracks) will need to be replaced so slowly…. At the moment the Michelin Pilot Primacy (205/50 R16 87W) are on it (doesn’t know if HP or not)… what I’m looking for are universal tires (dry/wet) in the same size, with a very good wear behavior, since ic h already about 60tkm a year drive (most of the time highway) and have no desire to change the tires every half year. Running quietness would also be important… otherwise… I’m looking forward to your suggestions…. what would continue to be decisive for a further selection restriction? (Price of course excluded…) Is the rim protective strip really important? Does the what? Thank you in advance and many greetings Andrey PS: the car is a 9-3 LPT Anni with Annis ALUs… MY02

Fasting Belts reactivate + Expand air-conditioning sensor fans
Hello dear people. am a very fresh saab driver (purchased used yesterday). decision fell on a 900er 2.0 turbo and so far everything is technically in best order, optically smaller defects. my previous owner probably had the same problem as this master and had the belt reminder deactivated. but now I want to know how to fix it again. apparently there is something brimmed, since the belt lamp lights up at the start check. someone ne idea? the second would be that the air he (habe klimaautomatic), who pushes the air to the sensor, probably has a small defect, so he grinds. also read that sometimes a prize wd-40 causes wonders and if not, you can also switch. unfortunately, however, nobody tells me where exactly that sits, or how I get all this up?!? doesn’t want to destroy anything. one last small question still : the light switch for standing or driving light, is the light illuminated? with me it is dark… thank you already lg

Vibrations on the front axle
Hello together, the Anniversary is making me a bit perplexed. The following has been done over the last year: So at 118tkm, I believe, both front crossbars have been exchanged, as clear noises were heard. After that everything was fine again, until again slight “cracking noises” from the front axle were heard (mainly with slight ground waves briefly in a row). Check of all front axle parts did not produce any results, nothing defective. Then came vibrations (with steering wheel) I suspected the tyres, since the first set of summer tyres! But since still good profile, I had to balance again, no improvement, but the mechanic found that the shock absorber screws (central screw on the “Dom” were too loose. So the shaking was tightened and away! As a reason for the crackling noises the cathedral bearings were diagnosed, should then be made. At meanwhile 133tkm there were 2 new tyres in front.. . and… now the vibrations are back again… Now I had the cathedral bearings made right away, which unfortunately did not bring anything about with the vibrations and from time to time it still cracks! Tyres change from front to back (different manufacturers, not scolding, there was no more…) to exclude them, but also brought nothing. Who still has an idea? Have already read the contributions to the drive shafts, only with me vibrates also without acceleration and sometimes more and sometimes who iger…?? So always here with good tips, so that the car is completely fun again! Greetings audax

Questions about 9-3 Viggen
Hello, have seen a Saab 9-3 that has aroused my interest in this car. So I have a few questions about the 9-3 Viggen, which experts can answer here safely quickly and easily. First of all, thank you so much. Did the Viggens only exist in certain colors? Or otherwise: Were there colors in which only the Viggen was available? I think of a striking blue, it could have been lightning blue. By what external characteristics does the Viggen differ from an Aero, which There are still differences? What about the Viggen S on it? What makes it different from a normal Viggen? Finally, the question about the 9-3 Troll: Is it a performance-enhancing variant of the Viggen? What are the distinguishing features (technically/optically) there?

Can someone give me tips where/how to get a cheaper solution. Oh yes, my 9.3er has up to now 324 000 km on his slender cross. Harry

Front Axle Knack-Knack
For some time now I had an annoying cracking/dicking in front right. Was not really locationable. As it got stronger today and we are going on tour on Friday, I looked up quickly. It turned out that fine stones were lying in the groove of the crossbar and had done full work around the rubber from the bar support. The upper rubber was a little gnawing and the bar support could work a little. In addition, the ball head of the rod support at the top of the Stabi is suspiciously smooth. I think I was changed at about 80,000 km – and is of course due again. I then made a short test drive earlier. Hubbly track and the serpentine track at the end of the village – almost nothing more to hear. Now I’m going to get probably order Powerflex replacement at Speedparts in Sweden. I’m really tired of building inferior parts.
