  • Retrofits at the 9-3 Anni

We drive a (suck**en) 9-3 SE Anniversary BJ/EZ 2002. It has to be remodeled now 🙂 and will learn Step1 from Hirsch. Further, I would like to make the following upgrades, for which I am looking for daily suitable(!) solutions. I have read a lot, but I have not become really smart: a) Upgrade with a hands-free device for a Nokia 6310i (which I can see if Tel 1/2) is pre-equipped?) b) The sound system needs to be improved and an additional CD-wake d) Has anyone ever had positive experiences with a sliding roof retrofit (e.g.Webasto)? e) Is there also a good low laying around 15mm/20mm without the tires grinding and the car in the TG? f) Search mesh grill black (incorporation difficult?) g) Change of the gear lever (hand switch) a problem? I know many questions, but I am confident. Please remember, since ss I have no own workshop facilities. stelo …who soon has the Saab for himself!

  • CarPC instead of SAAB computer and CD

Hello! Since I want to install a CarPC in my SAAB, the question arises: can the SAAB computer be completely expanded, and the functions can be displayed via the display of the CarPC? In theory there are two possibilities: 1.) keep the computer, and only the messages, or values instead of the SAAB display, can be displayed on the new 7/8″ monitor, 2.) also expand the computer, and the functions can be controlled, measured and displayed via the CarPC. The questions arise from this. l 1: how do you connect the SAAB computer to the monitor, or in case 2: is there a program under Windows or Linux that calculates and displays the values that the SAAB computer does? (Consumption, average consumption, and all that is displayed.) Has anyone already done such a thing, or heard of such a thing? Ew. even solution proposals are ready? It would be nice if you could put the whole CarPC in the armatire board, and if both CD, as well as SID and computer can be expanded, There’s room enough for the CarPC.

  • Diagnosis of cylinder head gasket

Hello, despite the minimum 82,000 km our Sabb Cabrio, Bj 2001 now has a problem – the cooling water disappears. Otherwise it is appropriate nothing to notice – only that the corresponding message always appears in the display. After 4 days driving across the city – me many traffic lights) since the diagnosis almost 2l new liquid got. But after a short time the display shines again. Therefore urgently and quickly what has to happen … Lack of brand workshop i In the area I have always had a few small gypsies done at ATU, which I found perfect. Now they have given me this diagnosis, but can not carry out the repair, because only parts have to come directly from Saab – and certain special tools are not available. Now I have read several times that it could also be the screws from the head … but I have to say that on the front area and right (if you are standing in front of the open bonnet) Olsuppe can also be seen, d he runs up under the block. Not so that you can see any spots when parking – but nevertheless probably no Lapalia. Therefore my question into the forum, whether someone has an info, what I could possibly check (with the scrubs – does that come into question at all?) and where in the area Potsdam or near Berlin a good and price-fair workshop can be found? Thanks for your information and help Frank

  • Newbie at Saab, 9-3 as a winter car ?!

Hello all, I have never driven a Saab and therefore hardly any idea about it. However, I am now interested in a 9-3er, motorization eig. no matter, I want to use the car as a winter car and put the current convertible in the garage in the winter. Can you tell me if the particular car is a reasonable car for my purposes ?! I drive highway, city, country mixed, however in the total 6 months where I then want to drive it in winter no more like 8,000 km. sweg is short distance (8km easy). What does it look like with reliability, repairs, rust etc.. I choose one of about 98 or 99 with under 125,000 km. As said, PS are not so important to me. What should be taken into account in particular ? Automatic transmission recommended ? Thanks already ! Greeting KIK

  • Backups Noname or brand?

Hello together, apart from the fact that I only find no-name fuses and I want to carry which as a replacement in the car, such no-name fuses 100 pcs. for 8€ are useful or better on brand articles:https://www.amazon.es/…/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?… If every couple of years the fuse 40A for the engine cooling fan (slow speed) fails regularly, what could be the cause of this? see also: https://kfz-sicherungen.com/saab/9-3-gm2900.html#sell fuses-2 Is the Plastic box possibly the (known?) vulnerability (wg. wear possible) ? Last question: a damaged fuse is neither detected by the SID nor is it reported by the OBD China reader, right? Will one then check it, individually take out and visual inspection or need it a test device for this?

  • Gasoline instead of diesel fuelled

Hello dear forum members, have now the tiger in the tank! Could slap my face, but out of all frustration over a private problem, when refueling did not pay attention and now the salad! Car ran without a problem still about 800 m, I turned it off, wanted to start again after ten minutes and already the problems started. Has hardly jumped on ran extremely rough, and after about 100 m was ended. Since first a light went on to me, check the tank receipt from the vending machine and see, I made crap! M a question to you: 1. Is the engine completely over? 2. What does the repair Bzw. exchange cost? 3. Does it make sense to try it yourself whether with tank drains and properly refuel ev, the problem is done? 4. If so, where do I have to start? I am grateful for every comment, and yes , you may also laugh!!!!

  • Saab 9-3 Anniversary – gasoline or diesel??

Hello Saabistas, I’ve been watching the Saab threads for a long time, but I’m here for the first time to post a topic. Therefore: Hello Saab fans and thanks for the many infos I’ve been able to get out of the threads so far. In short: I’ve been driving a Saab 900i 16v BJ 1990, from which I’ve never wanted to break up, but which is supposed to leave my property these days and make room for another vehicle. -5 Kombi brought, however, I have now arrived at the little brother 9-3, because a 9-5 in the city actually makes little sense. Now I am faced with a short-term decision between two 9-3 Anniversary, one a diesel BJ at the end of 2001, the other a petrol BJ in mid 2002. Equipment side, mileage and condition both the same. Apart from a apparently higher running noise of the diesel I have found so far little comparison information. n insightful ADAC test on diesel, but little about the petroler. So where are further differences and which is ultimately the recommended one? Did someone ever make the same decision and then decide for one reason or another for petrolers, respectively diesel? With me the decision is for Wednesday. Would I be happy if I could get some food for the decision-making. Thank you, Klaucy

  • Access petrol pump

Hello everyone, after I died a few days ago with the petrol pump, and I had to find out that for the purpose of replacing this pump you have to remove the tank, the result was clear: that was my last Saab. How can you make such a tremendous design mistake? Either it was intentional or simple idioty. Both are not good for the reputation of this brand. You can’t assemble such a thing more crazy. As far as it is so bad. However, ch raised the back seat to measure whether the pump has any juice at all, the chinlade fell on my chest: there is a hole there. Unfortunately, this hole has been cut 10 cm too far to the right. If it were in the right place, you could replace the pump from the interior. Are there any more delusional errors in the world? Probably hardly. With every x-any car, there is a lid above the petrol pump, over which you can then comfortably over the interior Even with the 9000s and if I am not crazy at the 900-I this is solved so. Well. Horrible. Now I have thought, with the Dremel simply to expand the hole so that I can get there also from above. Is this a good idea, or do I overlook something important? My next car will at least then become a W124. There is no such a pathetic, unbearable and stupid bullshit. I look forward to further tips on the topic of greetings from HH

  • Cooler always runs (almost)!

Moin has already tried the SUFU but found nothing suitable. So, my convertible 9-3 bj. 2002/3 has problems with the radiator fan – it runs “a wolf” 😉 The car has automatic air conditioning and only a relay for the fan. After the engine control started the error showed itself: coolant temperature sensor defective. This changed. Error deleted (no Tech2) – error is no longer shown. Nevertheless, the cooling fan starts immediately after engine start and does not go out – independently of Klimautomatik an oder aus. Speaking of, the “unmotivated” running of the fan had the car already long before the sensor exchange. Actually no problem (the engine overheats so not so) but a bit annoying and yesterday there were problems with the AU because the car hardly came to operating temperature. Can it be that a fault erasure is not enough and the cooling fan circuit still needs to be calibrated and it needs a Tech2 for that? Or is there somewhere else a sensor that is to be changed? Thank you for tips

  • Start problems after long journey

Hello together, I have a problem with my Saab 900 S, built in 1992, and hope that someone might have an idea what it might be. Basically, the car always starts without problems, whether it has outside -5°C or has stood for several days. The problem only occurs under a certain condition: If I have driven a longer distance (e.g. highway) and the car has then stopped for 4–5 hours, it does not start any more. The starter spins quite normally, but the mo tor feels “dead” as if the ignition is not coming. But pushing helps – then it starts immediately! Another detail: The tachometer moves slightly during the start attempt, but stays low. If this is relevant: the battery is fine, and the starter has been renewed recently. Has anyone ever had a similar problem or an idea, which I should test first? I am grateful for every tip! Many greetings
