  • Change control chain

@ linear cycle when I change the control chain to twist the camshafts so that the pistons do not come against the valves, I would have to be able to pull the new chain with the old one The crankshaft again put on marking the camshafts as well as insert the chain riveted tensioners and control everything thats all?

  • What to do directly with the chassis replacement?

Yellow Konis and H&R feathers are here, the date for the conversion is Thursday. I don’t let Saab do it this time, but my favorite workshop. Therefore, my question, especially about 93tid and hangover: Are there any surprises that can’t be bypassed without Saab special tool? Is there something that can/should/must be done directly at 50Tkm?

  • Vmax difference by tyre format – reason?

Hello guys, since I drove 600km free motorway with winter tires yesterday, I noticed again like every year that my klöterkarre with the winter tires comes emotionally faster at top speed and also a tick more on the tacho. Since I drive in the summer 215/45/17 and in the winter the other extreme namely 185/65/15, I ask myself the question whether this phenomenon results from a lower rolling resistance or a tacho deviation (or is it only Einb ildung)?! According to my hopefully correct calculation, the difference in the diameter from summer to winter tyres is only 0.38cm. Is this enough for a speedometer deviation of approx. 5km/h at +/- 200km/h? Or is it simply due to lower rolling resistance (the consumption with winter tyres seems to be marginally below that with summer tyres)? Well, of course, no really important topic, but maybe someone knows well greeting from Mannheim (outside temperature approx. 10°C) DJD

  • Viggen Tuning

Hello guys, I drive a 98 Viggen and have spent the days on several Saab tuning websites to find some interesting changes for my vehicle, however, have a few questions too! So, at just under 240+ hm/h on the highway it drives me partly really the sweat on the forehead, because the Viggen doesn’t really seem to stick properly on the road, as I would actually dream, the problem: lowering can I forget more or less, Even with the standard height, I often have problems to perceive certain parking spaces here in the city, not to mention the brutal car park climbs, the front spoiler looks quite taken away at the bottom and because of the one or the other curb, it has already happened that the inner wing has been torn down in some places.Does anyone have experience with the Viggen Rescue Kit, instead of lowering it would be an alternative? n out, I looked around at H&R, but I was told that the track spread was rather “Sch***e” for the eye than to have any effect, it should have more negative consequences instead, bleaker straight run etc, what do you mean? That would be only once I think of something else I post later on

  • SID display indistinct

So, now I think my SID is also caught (MY02), although this is a bit different with me. The pixels don’t turn out correctly, but are just partly darker, partly brighter, that also applies to the font left (SPD etc.) and the clock. But now the strange thing: if I push through the different display modes, the error is always watching, only if I have the average speed shown, everything radiates in old freshness. That can then no contact error at the L You’re gonna have to clear me up before I take this thing apart for free.

  • Stand-up heating?

For my 2.2 TiD would cost such an offer 336,- net, i.e. with tax about 390,- the part incl. installation. I think that is a pleasant price, the question is only whether it is worth it. After I am currently unfortunately lantern parker, this would probably be a fine thing in a few weeks already. Does this thing also heat the engine? That would be almost more important to me than a warm interior, seat heating has ic But I’m afraid in winter my ~15km drive to work isn’t really enough to bring it to temperature. What have you done with the heater? P.S. Had a 9-3 convertible 1.8t in the Vector equipment as a rental car today. Inside I find the current 9-3 very nice, also from the front this is really a great car, only from the side and the rear… but it’s great, only the engine was not optimal in my opinion.

  • Garage dimensions / deer tuning vs. car / natural gas

Moin! I’ve been thinking about getting a Saab for quite some time. Now the decision has been made. It’s supposed to be a 9-3 I Aero. After long (!) discussions with my better half, it can also be a 3-door. Now the serious planning phase starts. So have some questions. Maybe someone takes the time to help me here. How about the “garage measure” of the 9-3 (have a narrow garage and now already put my box under problems)? The car should also receive a small support from the deer. Several times it was said that this fits together without any problems. My question would be whether I should make the conversion before the tuning or after it. Since no 500 m of me is a natural gas tank, of course, would offer me a conversion to natural gas. Has someone ever had experience with it (otherwise you always read only about car gas, which is the most important thing for me). s yes can have its reasons…)? Thank you for the answers. Greetings whisky78

  • Viggen 1999

Buying a 99 Viggen Hello first, Well, I’m new here in the forum and also recently I bought a 1999 Viggen. The car is really fun, but in front of it I apparently didn’t know enough about this model. I read a lot about the fact that Saab is generally considered a questionless used vehicle. I was of course even more pleased. But now comes the disillusionment and I read that my model has to fight with engine damage. The different statements mislead me, because I don’t know what is really true about it. it can’t be about 400’000 vehicles faulty?! or yet? how are your experiences? How many kilometers do you already have with your Viggen or the 9-5er, which apparently has the same motorization? What else do I have to pay attention to the 10’000er interval at the service, or what else should I replace everything and how long can I hope to drive without a bigger sc have been at 62000km? Questions about questions of a scared Viggen driver… Hope you know a par clever answers to that and thank you. mfg PS: viggenfactfile I’ve already visited, but I didn’t get smarter…

  • Amplifier installation in 93 – Experiences?

Hello. The audio system from Saab is not the yellow one from the egg. At high power output, the frequency gradient breaks away and basses start to bubble, voices overturn and the driver gets a thick neck. Why do my very good PC speakers have to be much clearer and lighter than the Saab Radio? On the speakers it is no longer possible, they are upgraded (Infinity Reference 6502i front/9603i rear). The tricky should be the Saab Ra. In the lower area I am satisfied with the sound. So I was in the attic earlier and brought down my good old amplifier from my late Bulli. I wanted to see if I could get the physical/covered built-in tomorrow. The mass is 33x26x6.5 cm. Someone has already gained experience here. The amplifier doesn’t fit into the place of the AS3 amplifier. Under the seat maybe? What NI CHT should be: – Mounting on the rear seat. – Mounting in the hollows behind the wheel boxes.

  • finally: Exhaust hood on 2,2 TiD

Hello heating oil fraction! I would like to continue this thread: http://www.motor-talk.de/t743522/f244/s/thread.html to open a new one, since it’s strictly about another topic (but the moderators are also happy to put it together). It’s finally done – the ugly diesel end tube is gone and replaced by a beautiful oval chrome panel! Here are some pictures:http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/3kj-a.jpg http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/3k j-b.jpg http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/3kj-c.jpg http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/3kj-d.jpg What do you think? Wasn’t easy to find the right aperture; I definitely wanted an oval or flat oval, because it fits best in the cut-out in the rear apron. In addition, the connection diameter (60mm) had to fit and the whole should have an ABE. Mounting has done a SAAB Wekstatt, since I had the Intercooler hose replaced there today anyway. Was something. tricky, as the aperture on the upper edge touches the rear apron; we simply heated the original tailpipe and slightly bent down – now it fits perfectly Has resemblance to the original blade of the Petrol-Anniversary, just a little bigger or how does the Petrol-Faction judge it? Now it only remains to wait to see how fast and badly the rear apron smokes (but according to MOK24 it should be kept within limits)… Greetings from sunny Mannheim, DJD
