Recently on the supermarket parking lot I could see a slightly older vehicle (BMW ? Benz ? was no longer clearly detectable -> accessory grave) turning light. The left or right fog lights were switched on alternately when turning in the respective direction. This seems to me to be a quite usable option for older vehicles and also illuminates the respective side quite well. So something should be possible also with the Saab. e.g. light turned on (stand-, Abbl end-, or remote) plus flasher set on the respective side = the corresponding fog lamp is turned on (of course not to blink). Does anyone have a suggestion how to do this ? Or is that possible in the accessory trade (that would then be really useful accessory) ?

9-3 Convertible as a full-fledged fam car?
Hello Saab friends, I play with the idea to buy myself a Saab later. I thought of a 99er 9-3 convertible, but now my question: Is the car to be considered a full-fledged family car? I have a 3 1/2 year old daughter who naturally needs to be in your child’s seat. Is the car winter-proof, how big is the trunk (I couldn’t look at a vehicle yet, because we were just building a house and it’s still a fix idea) or should it become a 9-5 combo, which Is it crazy then to switch to the brand Saab? I don’t have any problems with the Mercedes, but after 2 years another car is due again. Has someone made long-term experiences with both Saabs? What about the turbochargers, whose problems are repeatedly reported here in the forum? Greeting AXO100

H&R feathers in Saab Viggen
Hello, since yesterday I drive my Viggen convertible with built-in H&R springs from the Saab center Saarbrücken. I have already covered more than 100km, city, highway and country road, and am so far very pleasantly surprised: despite optically clear lowering and improved driving behaviour at high motorway speeds, the comfort has hardly suffered… of course, you notice uneven ground, but the Viggen was already quite hard, the difference is so minimal that it is my friend I have to add that the results can probably not be transferred directly to other Saabs, since the Viggen has already a sports suspension, as said from the factory, so the springs and dampers are already harder than e.g. with the SE. So with other Saab models I would basically exchange the dampers. I will deliver pictures soon! Greetings and thanks to ViggenRacing, who advised me well! Philip

Light darkens permanently
Hello, I’ve been having a Saab 93 with 2 liters of softturbo for about 1 year now. I’m actually super satisfied, only 2 small things bother me. 1. My indoor and outdoor lighting always darken something at short notice, when an aggregate starts in the engine room. I’m not quite sure what that is, would the compressor of the air conditioner perhaps say?? The annoying thing is that the aggregate, whatever it is, only runs for about 10 seconds, then again not at short notice, and then just w This goes so far that people ask me why I would always turn up when I stand behind them at the traffic lights. Is this darkening normal? At my Saab workshop I was told it was on my “small” engine, which did not have enough power. But I can’t really imagine it. 2. The driver’s seat squeaks and creaks under my weight (just under 100 kilos). Especially disturbing on uneven roads. Has anyone seen this before? As said car is 1 year old. I am grateful for answers. Greeting Jan

Radio connections and other…
Hello, I also have some questions but also a tip in connection with the radio. But first of all the tip: I got the Toronto MP73 from Blaupunkt (~270€) and am more than enthusiastic. The sound really hits your ears – also with original LS. This is due to the included measurement microphone and the automatic leveling. In addition, there was a suitable adapter for the steering wheel remote control (~70€). Within 2 MINUTES my Nokia hands-free device was on The only downside is the display color: red. Well, you can’t have everything. But now to my questions: 1. I’m looking for, since the old radio did not need a display, the connection of the tap lighting on the radio. Is there the, or do I have to get the one from the Ziggi-lighter? 2. In my display there is the configuration regarding tempogest. Volume control. The h at – as I think – never whipped at the original radio. So did I have no signaling, and if it still works over which contact? 3. The last question concerns the already mentioned slot which serves as a radio blind. Where do I come from? Only at Saab or also at a direct dealer? Have only seen the links to the USA here, and then I prefer to get it directly at Uncle SAAB. Has someone ever tried to light the dashboard light Is this even feasible? Greeting Alex

It rushes & buzzes in the “sound system”
Moin, moin! Quick questions: Have I built up the AS2 (in the 93er five-door) with non-Saab components. Smaller power amplifier at the front (in the middle console) for a 16er compo system at the front. Last time I installed another power amplifier at the rear for new 6x9er in the existing recordings. Since then I have a speed-dependent buzz and noise in the sound image. a) Can this be due to the fact that I have installed chinch and power cables (dumbly) directly next to each other on the passenger side? b) If j a, do the noises also radiate into the front channels (e.g. via the radio)? Does the noise now also sound in the front. c) When I turn off the radio, is there a dull (strange) noise over the rear channels?? Can this be because I have caught a bad mass point?? I have already thought that if I put the chinch cable on the driver’s side, I pull a mass cable right up to the Baterie, then the mass is in any case very clean… Maybe yes also someone a tip for a very good mass point near the back seat??? Did you ever have similar problems, someone knows each other? Thank you for the tips in advance.

Rims Spring Awakening Saab Mailing
Hello for now. I am new here in the forum and now drive my second Saab. Own a 99er 93 fsp cabrio and need a few decision aids regarding new rims. Last week the spring awakening flyer arrived from my dealer, in which the Hirsch 18″ rims are offered as complete wheels (Michelin Pilot Sport tires). Up to now always had the Saab 3 Spoke Double rims in mind, which were with the predecessor Aero as standard. I would also like to know if I can have the spring set from Hirsch (350,- Eur) mounted on my vehicle or if I need the complete suspension… I would like to know if I can have the suspension set from Hirsch (350,- Eur) installed on my vehicle or if I need the complete suspension…

93 Buy Convertible – Info?
Hello, as a non-Saab connoisseur I ask for some information about the Akuf of such – yes, I know, happens again and again, but always to other models. Today we looked at a 99er 93 convertible, 96 KW, has run 64k, leather, KlimaAutom, and much more, should be delivered for 15500.-. Check booklet of the Saab dealer maintained, also got the old number plate and data of the previous owner and could ask there times. A DEKRA test sigel and certificate is also included. Since I don’t know what to do with Saab, I ask for information on what to pay attention to with this car. -Does he have any special weak points that I should check? -How reliable and durable is the automatic transmission? -Sure he is not a racer, but is he able to move with the 96 KW? Is there actually a turbo? -How is it with inspection intervals? When is the next due and when – if available – the Za hnriemen. He is a smoking car, but maybe there are a few tricks on how to get that out to a minimum? Thanks in any case for your information about it. Best regards Frank

Exchange Cooler thermostat
Hi friends, with me, the “check engine” lamp lights up on a long descent. The radiator counter is at the very bottom. In addition, it is constantly too low at cold outside temperatures. I assume that the thermostat is broken. Now I can put a cardboard in front of me – like with the Trabbi. But this is only a help. I would rather pack the evil at the root. Drum my request: Can someone give me a guide on how to exchange the cooler thermostat myself ? Thank you in advance! s-frit

9-3 Aero with built-in pleasure gain
Hello ‘College’, since the beginning of the week proud owner of a 9-3 Aero, EZ 05/2000. So a Newbie. Before Saabs drove only as a rental car – which always resulted in severe separation pain during the return… Although my newer was with 30 tkm for 17.300 EUR (incl. mobile phone installation) certainly not a real schnapps, but given the ABSOLUT MAKELLOSEN condition (the previous owner is born 1918) and the great equipment (automatics, leather, memo seat, metallic, etc.) on all occasions an opportunity I wouldn’t want to miss. I could now still swammer endlessly from watching-entering-gas-giving-well-being-usw., but you all know that better… A lance for the automatic, however, I want to break here: I have never had anything less under the feet than this gentle power package! To absolute perfection, however, I still lack the right sound experience: If I understand that right, my new friend is finished with an AS2 The panel has radio and cassette, there is no sound coming from the loudspeaker panels in the doors. The sound is too flat and too weak for me. The good old cassette is ok, my expensive deck finally has something to do and the CDs stay where they belong. I also find the display about the SID nice and the receiver part is really fine. Now I wonder if you can do something with the amplifier and speaker side: is it possible to get an AS2 up to the AS3? Or is there a b ESSERE Alternatives? And possibly more favorable? I am grateful for all the hints!
