  • level in forum

hello! the level in the forum leaves more and more to be desired. more and more postings are dealing with child stuff like “my is more beautiful than yours” or anything else. this has to do with “MOTOR talk” nix more. maximum with “KIDDIES contest”. I would be happy if the mods (as hard as this job is, I don’t want to be stuck in their skin) really get through a bit harder and not only close this or that thread but also beinhart ENTFEREN and the creators respectively those who are just stupid e messages send off a PN and call them to reason. no one is interested in discussing various colors and only off-topic quarrels reduce the quality of the existing informatinen almost to zero. I’ve almost lost my desire and tend more and more to send my opinions or help positions only by PN. questions I haven’t asked any more for a long time…. conclusion: please put the children and the pointless posters for a zteit lang v or the door! best greetings, jochen

  • closed threads

I protest against the constant closing of threads in the “Security” forum when ubc or madcruiser demand this, because they run out of arguments. Speed kills better tyres in the rear Besides, I don’t want to see threads in the “Security” forum about heatable rear lights or links when buying cars, but about safety.

  • Virtual Memorial

For the current occasion (rrspeeedy, see the corresponding thread in the Bikertreff) I wanted to place a virtual memorial for deceased MTler in the room. I know, on foreign forums may not be linked, but in the Banditforum (everyone will find it that way) there is such a thing. A section “Our deceased bandits”, in which nobody, except the admin has a writing right, where (with picture, as far as available) is briefly told who he/she was and why he/she died. The solution dor I find it extremely successful and would be pleased if there were also such a “corner” of silent remembrance on MT.

  • Registration with vehicle type

Hello dear MT workshop and happy holidays to have had! I notice in various brand/type forums that you always have to pull your vehicle type, the motorization etc out of the nose like a prayer mill. No one who wants to help is here master in the crystal ball reading. Don’t have to use motor and gear shortcuts. Why can’t you make it a mandatory field that you have to specify when registering e.g. in an estimated 50% of problem descriptions by Neure gistrierte says “I noticed the problem x or y with me. What can that be?” Then comes the next entry “What kind of model with what motorization?” The people who are busy and often present in the forums have probably saved this somewhere as a text can. Would that be a possibility? Would the forum work be enormously easier! Thanks for thinking about it!

  • New search cannot be switched off.

As already written in the subject, the search function can no longer be changed to the old version. In principle, this would not be a big deal, but unfortunately, the display of the search result is mainly for many hits under the priority “Relevance” unusable and under “according to date” not chronological. The “old search” works if in the user profiles for “Show all posts by username” is searched, for many search results much more useful. System configuration: Apple MacBook Pro, Intel Core i7, Mac OSX OS X 10.8.4 used browsers: Safari Version 6.0.5 (8536.30.1), Firefox 22.0, Google Chrome Version 28.0.1500.71, Opera 12.16

  • Student surveys

I think it would make sense to inform the respective target group that there is something. As an example of this topic. If motor talk supports such a thing, there should probably be a hint in all VW areas that affect current models. Otherwise, the target group hardly gets any of it. How this can be technically implemented, I can not assess. But I w w should just throw the thought into the room.

  • Terms of use

I think that MT should undergo a small revision of the terms of use. Recently, some user names appear, which are apparently intended to lead to a confusion with old users, in one case even the same image was selected temporarily. In other forums, such “half-clones” are deleted immediately and, if another and older account can be assigned to this login, it gets in the same turn a warning.

  • MT only supports IE 7.0+ correctly?

Hi, what I noticed for the X-th time is simple: The page display in Mozilla FireFox is mostly “hooked” !!! In order to be able to use the website properly, you are forced to use the MS-IE7.x This is not only annoying, but DISKRIMINIREND to the MT users who use the “Mozilla FireFox” … Best regards, wbf325i

  • Motor talk is not a motor talk!

Hello, if I read the Internet address Motortalk.de, then I imagine something, where you get information about the engine and clutch, gearbox and so on. Unfortunately, there is not a forum here by it about engines in general, or clutch in general etc! If I have a clutch question now, where should I create a topic then that I get as many answers as possible? If no special car brand or anything else concerns, have I had bad luck?! Someday there are some general forums! Thank you! MfG Smilo
