Dear Alfa Community, As a newcomer to Alfa Romeo, I have been in this forum for the first time. I have recently had a very well-kept Alfa Romeo 146. The vehicle was built in 1997, had a single previous owner in front of me. He has kept the car from purchase to 2008 regularly in an Alfa Romeo workshop. However, since 2008 the checkbook has been “empty”. When I bought the car 8 weeks ago from our local Fiat dealer, I also have a small Servi The boss, who is himself a Fiat and Alfa fan and knows the model range including engines inside and out, told me that a timing belt change is not necessary yet. I am happy about an honest information from this workshop, and of course I am happy about every money that does not have to be spent. Nevertheless: I am very unsure about the timing belt change, my previous vehicles all had no timing belts. The car with the 1.6 l Twin Spark (120 hp) has now run 131,000 km. At 112,000 km in May 2007, a timing belt change at Alfa Romeo is documented in the service booklet. This is to date 19,000 km or more than 5 1⁄2 years. Question to the 146 experts: When is the next timing belt change due? Thank you for your help!

Alfa 147 – Cooling water boils and some other problems
Hey, I came across this forum while googling and don’t know at the moment if I can lift the necessary repairs or if it’s still worth it. I can’t really “simple” with the workshops and would be very pleased about neutral opinions. Here are the vehicle data in advance: Alfa Romeo 147 2.0 16V T.SPARK, 110 KW, EZ: 2005, kilometers 104,000 Upcoming service work: 1. Timing belt incl. water pump 2. Phase adjuster (I read here from a inexpensive Rep-Kit ) The car “cracks”, probably this “diesel truck”, which I also read about. 3. Front axle, it grapples and squeakes quite badly. However, the shock absorbers were already renewed 3 years ago. 4. Cooling water cooks for a few days after a few kilometers of driving. The service work regarding the wear parts such as timing belts and front axle are so far understandable for me. However, the latest problem with the cooling water causes me great worry. I leave the car since then, because after A few kilometers from the on-board computer alarms and the temperature indicator rises to 130 degrees. The workshop could not take the fear of a “great damage” by telephone, the master mentioned immediately “possibly cylinder head seal and that can become expensive”. So oil is not visible in the water tank. Switching on the heating did not lower the temperature. What could be the cause? Maybe only something “small”? if required. LG Tanja

Hello! I’m just a small step away from buying a used 147 Distinctive. My question now is: how many kilometers does the engine last with normal use? Is at 250,000 tending to end and all the repairs are going on or what can you expect? Many greetings and thanks already for the answer(s)

0 to 100 km/h and 1/4 mile, find the 156 a little tired
Hi all, as I said before, it’s my first Alfa. I like the car, looks good and drives well. Has a good sound and doesn’t consume much. But, I think the 155hp are a bit oversized. Mine’s quite tired with a low speed and not particularly spin-like when pulling up. So in the stand it has a core sound and is also spin-like between 1000 and 5000 rpm in short gas bursts. Now I’m a bit spoiled, but nevertheless I find the Alfa quite sluggish and lame. The factory specification 0 to 100 km/h 8,8sec my time 12,5sec The factory specification 0-400m 16,5 sec. my time 19,0sec. My Alfa has run 95000km which is not necessarily sucked out. Exception? Where could it be? Or general problem? How are your values and experiences? PS: please spare me with this Sufu Sch……., then kick me better. I would like to talk to you and not rummag into any dusty files.

alfa 147 timing change?
Hello people! Timing belt change yes or no? Data about my Alfa: Alfa 147 1.6 Twin Spark Eco Year of manufacture: 10/2005 Performance: 77kW Benzina Kilometer level today: 99.700km Last timing belt change: 10/2008 at 50.800km, then with oil change, WaPu, maintenance Now my question to you: 1) When should I have the timing belt change? 2) What should I do immediately? 3) How much would that cost me in “Vienna”? Thank you already in advance for tips, experiences! mfg checki Edit: I also used the SuFu, but I didn’t get smart about it because the contributions contradicted at ZR change at 60tkm or 5 years or 3 years. I would just like to know from you what is current at the moment, best without contradictions. =)

Alfa 156 2.5 V6 Timing belt change with pump for 549,- Euro at ATU realistic?
Hello, since I bought an Alfa 156 2.5 V6 with which the timing belt has to be made, I have looked around in the normal case I always see prices from 1000,- Euro to 1400,- Euro depending on whether with pump or without etc. But now I have come across something very interesting on the ATU page on the Internet. If I choose my vehicle there and click on the timing belt change tells me the page it would cost me 549.99 with pump without pump even only 429.99 Euro. I really think this is very cheap if not unrealistic, but ATU has such offers for all cars of the package class no matter which. Now the question if I book the online at this price and then drive with the Alfa there to the workshop have to do that at the course also or ? BZW. or can it be that they do that and then in the next one I have to pay double or how does the ? well has shcon who got the information about it. ^^ ^ mfgg

Purchase advice alfa 156
Hi, I’m looking for a purchase advice for an Alfa Romeo 156, I always don’t drive my cars much longer than 1 to 2 years and then I’ll get something new, so far I’ve had almost only Audi models, but now I’ve driven almost every Audi that was built in the 80s and 90s and I don’t like the newer ones and would like to drive something else. I really like the Alfa 156 visually very much and I always wanted to drive one, but I don’t even know about Alfa models at all and know 0 what I have to pay attention to when buying them. I don’t know whether I’m looking for a Limo or a sports car at the moment, I’d like both of them at the moment, I’d like to decide spontaneously depending on what I find myself, but it’s important to me that it’s a model before the Facelift of 2003 because I don’t like the newer optically anymore. I’d like to have either the 2.5 V6 or the 2.4 JTD of course have a dream of the 3.2, but I don’t want to realize it with the budget of almost 3000 Euro.
