  • Conversion of the Alfa Forum

Dear Alfisti, Alfa Romeo has made a new start last year. We want to do this here in the forum. As you have already noticed, the first step was a new forum for Stelvio and Giulia. The second one follows in the next few days and will initially cause some confusion. The following structure will be implemented. Alfa Romeo 145, 146, 147, 155, 156, 164, 166, GT Forum 164, 167, 930, 932, 936, 937, 1988-2010Alfa Romeo 159, Brera, Giulietta, Mito Forum 939, 940, 955, from 2005Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Giulia Forum 949, 952, from 2016Alfa Romeo 4c, 8c, GTV, Spider Forum 115, 916, 960, 961, from 1966 As you can see, many models and thus the related topics will be changed between the first two forums. This will cost the moderators and forum godparents some time. Some topics will therefore first be transferred to the forum.

  • How expensive in maintenance?

Hello, I wanted to ask here how high the maintenance/reperature costs are for a used Alfa Romeo. I’m looking for a nice Alfa for max. 500€ I also read that these are very expensive in maintenance or are very susceptible to smaller repratures. Is that right? Thanks already in advance for the help Lg

  • My next car, Alfa, Jaguar, Mercedes or Bmw?

Hello guys. I want to buy a young used car. Candidates are it, as written above, Alfa Romeo Giulia with 2.0 Turbo and 200 HP, Jaguar XE as well as mi 2.0 gasoline or stop with the Diesel, Bmw 420i or 420d and Mercedes C class (all models from C200) I’m just thrilled like the Alfa looks. And it’s a rarity on our streets, which is also a plus point for me. Just like the Jaguar. I as a young guy (25) know also that these 2 brands did not necessarily stand for Kvalitet. Has there been anything done? I just don’t want to buy such a, for me expensive device and then be only in the workshop? What would you decide if your budget were up to 23 000 eur? LG

  • 159 1.9 jtdm versus 159 2.4 jtdm allrad

Hi, I wanted to hear your opinion: Is it worth a change from 159 1.9 jtdm to 2.4 jtdm with four-wheel drive? The big diesel with four-wheel drive is coming out soon and my dealer has made me at first glance quite a good offer when I change. I suspect he gets a few of the new models of Alfa pressed up and looks in advance for potential customers, because the demand for all-wheel drive in northern Germany should not be so great. On the paper, the 2.4 despite all-wheel drive is of course much more splashy than my current 1.9 – 8.6 compared to 9.8 sec. from 0 to 100. End speed 226 compared to 210 km/h. But for that the all-wheel drive should drive up the consumption. I charge 1.5 to 2 liters more at 100 km. At 30,000 km a year, that would be up to 680 euros depending on the price development. The question is, the all-wheel drive already brings more pleasure and safety, to outweigh these costs. I also ask because a friend of me recently has to return his previous Audi 4 with front wheel drive.

  • Purchase 156 2.0JTS Progressive

Hello, I need your tip, actually I love my BMW 320i from 99′ with 85TKM, but I have seen a 156 2.0JTS with 166hp from 2002 with 23TKM 1st hand checkbook very clean. Alfa I know very well from earlier times, because they were always such a little Mimosenhaft, may be that they are more stable today!? I like the car very well and is the only alternative to the BMW 3er, for me. Since I can get the whole for approx. 2000€, it makes even more attractive, what do I have to pay attention to in the 156er, although at the running performance it has just hit, if at all. Why can you guess me? Greetings Fiorello

  • 159 Sport Wagon, 1.9 diesel

One way forward – as in the Sig. to recognize, I did not have an Alfa (except once as a rental car had a 156 sports car – very chic!!) . But hope nevertheless to be able to post something here. 1. The 159 sports car washed me yesterday and drove me in scharz metallic over the way. I have to say, it not only struck me, but several passersby. Such a chic car… If I did not need the place of my Pampersbomber, would it be only design-technically worth considering. 2. There is with the 159er yes Diesel with 120 and 150 hp with each 1.9 liter displacement. is this the same machine, as it is installed with Opel and Fiat????

  • Updated survey: How satisfied were you with your Alfa Romeo in 2014?

As in previous years, we would like to know how you got through the previous year with your mobile kit. Were you satisfied or were there worries and troubles with your vehicle or the manufacturer’s service?Even though you might have already voted in December: In some forums the survey was broken. Because all MOTOR-TALKers should have the same chance to express their opinion, we decided to close the survey in general and start it again now. What’s new: How satisfied were you with your Alfa Romeo in 2014? Vote in the survey and express praise or criticism as a comment. We have a direct connection with many manufacturers and they read on MOTOR-TALK. That’s why your opinion definitely comes exactly where it should land: at Alfa Romeo.

  • Question about phaser/sensor

tach people, I have been reading with motortalk for a long time. today I had to register to get rid of some questions to the specialist world. my 147er now has about 80 tkm on the clock. for about half a year I occasionally got the noise when starting as if there is no oil up there. after 2-3 seconds it’s gone and everything is normal. I used to wear this to an alfa spec. he meant without opening the hood “is clearly called the phase sensor or also -displayer.” we thought that although the kilometers until the tooth belt change are not yet reached, the 60 months are easily over. I know what the part looks like and where it is installed and that the tooth straps have to be put down anyway. I just don’t know how it comes to the noise and how can you still recognize that this part is in the “phase control sky”. the consumption is actually in the normal range between 9 and 10 liters in the city. would be no problem to exchange it if it doesn’t cost you like it ́n ́.

  • 3.2-V6 now also available in Opel Antara

Hi! So far, the 3.2l version of the GM Global V6 engine manufactured in USA, Australia, Japan, Brazil and South Korea was only available at Alfa in the 3.2l derivation. The 3.2l version is now also available in the Opel Antara/Chevrolet Captiva/Daewoo Captiva, but with a different design: less maximum power at the expense of a more uniform torque development. Otherwise, it was always called, especially for Alfa, the stroke of the engine has been shortened to achieve a displacement reduction from 3.6 to 3.2l and a higher rotation capacity… MFG
