Test drive!!!!!!!!
Last week, when I went to the Alfa dealer (we don’t want to name names) and asked after a test drive with a Gt 1.9jtd, I came to the answer: “In this weather anyway not!” To my question if he was not sold in winter I was allowed to stand!!!!!!! Is that really normal so I have so slowly the feeling that all are somewhat unfriendly.Good for defense I have to say that a buddy of mine was left at Audi times with the reason “he can e the car does not afford anyway” but so in general what experiences do you have with car dealers?????????????

alfa 166 3.0 or BMW 2.8
Hello, Alfa forum! am absolutely new here – no wonder my first alfa may be imminent. and as long as I didn’t buy it, wanted to ask a few questions if I should do it at all. I don’t want to ask anything in general I just introduce my situation: it should be: an alfa 166 3.0 V6 24V with about 140,000km Bj ’99. whether the running power is too much? driving I do very little – about 15,000 a year but still I have to worry about the consumption – because these 15,000 are pure stad tkilometres (berlin) – and the 166 3.0 has a “dry” call even in this forum. if I buy it then with my competent money, i.e. if there is something serious in 3 days (and the dealer is suddenly insolvent) – I’m fired up. should I take this risk with the alfa? another point that makes me thoughtful is the automatic transmission-has it really only 4 gears? how does it affect BAB-drives? where is the consumption or V-MAX? or is it total qu atsch and it is not noticeable whether there are now 4 or 5 gears? only for the Bj 99 or 2000 it seems to me to be no longer on the road with a 4-speed transmission. and as last: as alternative comes a bmw 523 with 170ps or 528 automatic with 192ps. Bj 96-97. in. maybe someone could compare these cars? what would you recommend? for your answers I would be very grateful. volchik

Help with purchase decision Alfa 147 GTA and …
I would like to change the brand after 15 years of Renault. Leon Cupra R, Mini Cooper JCW, Golf GTI and Alfa 147 GTA would be considered as new cars. As you can see quite different cars with different concepts, but – roughly speaking – in similar price ranges. Each car has its charms for me: During the Cupra from the outside for me still nothing of its stylistic appeal lost With its 225 hp engine, the Mini Cooper JCW has a good price/performance ratio, but inside it has a little patina, the appeal of its outer and inner (despite some plastic application) charm lies in its hidden power, as a wolf in sheep’s fur. The GTI offers the test reports, probably a successful combination of agility, relatively high-quality interior, sporty comfort at a fair price. no less with a more than pleasing exterior like interior (engine, ambience), whereby the six-cylinder engine with a cylinder capacity of 3.2 liters and 250 hp should stand out most from its competitors. Up to now I could only drive the Cupra R. Test drives with the other candidates unfortunately hardly possible until the purchase. Since I normally drive the car only privately, fuel costs do not play the dominant role, whereby of course fixed and variable The lower costs are not completely insignificant, therefore the Alfa is already in its cost structure on the edge of the limit set by me. In the end, driving pleasure, even fun (as long as you can still enjoy it) plays a not insignificant role in the decision-making process. It would be nice if one or the other would drive one of these cars and could arouse a spark of enthusiasm for it. Because of course, I have to decide and I also know that the Decision in the end will be a more emotional like Rationale. In advance already thank you.

156 and paint damage
Hello together. I had a spectacular accident with my 2 year old 156 Alfa in January. I drove at 140 in the 3rd lane one from left back left into the side. Well, afterwards the rear broke out, the car turned 180° and then I rolled over 3 lanes against the direction of travel towards the middle guardrail (in professional traffic!). Was then also quite great to stand at the guardrail, to look against the traffic and to wait for the police. Was really a miracle the Well, the car was close to the total damage, but I finally had it repaired for 11500 euros, which I now have to complain about. Well, both back doors are new, both bumpers, right side completely painted and bulged. Not to mention frame work. One thing I have to say: in Alfa you drive really safe! Okay, now I have a new door on the back left and now an idiot has already scratched me and a dent in it. It was quite obvious to me, I was even with the police. The car was still standing next to mine. Okay, they say, because you can prove it badly, you can do little. Someone should have seen it. But now to the question: I have the black-metallic varnish and have the impression that the one is very susceptible to scratches. Have you had similar experiences? I am always very careful and park the car as much as possible, that no dope spoils it. Greetings, Ro I’m PS: What are the ways to get scratches removed cheaply? Have you seen anything on TV about self-employed people who do something good, only where can you find them?

Bon Giorno a tutti!
So, I found my way through my girlfriend to Alfa… My girlfriend wants to get her own car soon, because she is too big and too sluggish for me. Since we visited my family in Italy for the first time, 200% is certain for her that she wants to drive Alfa. Every time she sees an Alfa on the road, her eyes begin to shine and the desire to own an Alfa becomes stronger and stronger with her. But the problem now is that the 147 GTA is too small for her. S he wants a car, which has good equipment, i.e. leather, xenon, best selespeed, and is about the size of the 156. My question is now, since I find Alfa also more beautiful than my current Mercedes, how strong the passage of an Alfa with 250 hp is. In my car (mercedes E-Class) you can notice no acceleration and no biting. I know that Alfa is an Italian car and therefore also the engine is quite toxic, but what could you compare it with? in Alfa with 250 hp with e.g. with an RX-8? Would be very grateful for your help. THX in advance. MfG

156 2.0 with 225tkm ?
Hello together while browsing the Internet I got a 156 (year 99, 155 HP) which looks quite interesting, especially the price MFK and exhaust test (so called TÜV and AU in Switzerland) are new (this January), moreover allegedly accident-free and 8 times tired, but just with 225000 km. Now I wanted to ask you if you can still buy such a car or if you would categorically advise against it (this has nothing to do with mistrust towards Alfa, I would also have a Toyota Oh yes, the timing belt has been changed at 186000 km. The price (is an auction) is at the moment at 2000 CHF, i.e. about 1250 EUR, but may be even higher… I would appreciate some tips and opinions! Greeting James B.

Timing belts torn
Yesterday it happened. Yesterday evening I refueled then on the highway. Had almost 80 on the Tache there I ran out of engine. I thought I had wrong fuel. Today it turned out: timing belts torn. At 90000 km a new engine and new transmission came in, all inspections were made. last month I had let in 4 new winter tires and the brake discs and coverings. About 2 weeks ago new air mass meters. It is about The 2.4 JTD .EZ 2001. In recent months almost 1000 € invested and now that. Can’t be true, isn’t it?? Whether the repair is worth it I don’t know anymore… sad greetings
