  • Alfa 156 – Madness or nobility?

After being a quiet reader in this forum for a long time and reading a lot of good tips, I decided to post something. In general, I am very satisfied with my Alfa 156, never had any problems and agree with almost all the positive opinions. There is no other car that looks so beautiful, that makes so much fun (Selespeed) and is so reliable! However, I now have the 80,000 inspection and the following prices were run by an Alfa workshop. t: Inspection approx. EUR 350 timing belts approx. EUR 750-800 brakes approx. 400-450 If you still get the question whether the exhaust is still in order, you therefore start from the maximum prices (EUR 1600). I realize that things have to be done, but at the price I get to ponder… Do you really have to pay so much to keep your car in fire? And do you have to do this at an Alfa workshop? Madness or nobility? About tips and your views w I would be very grateful!

  • Alfa 148/ 149 and 159 GTA

I would like to ask if someone knows something more precise, when the 148 or 149 comes… Besides there should be a 159 GTA with V6 Biturbo or even V8… I have heard/read the rumor with the Biturbo several times, and that it should be created in collaboration with Volvo. The V8 should come from the Maserati, and should be the same, which was installed in the 8c competizione! Does anyone have more detailed information?

  • I’m disillusioned…

yesterday I was happy on the AMI2005 in leipzig and immediately ran into hall5. to alfa romeo. and with a joyful glance I stand in front of the 159th a dream. from the front and from the back. wahnsinn. I wanted to ask where I have to sign. but then I look at everything more closely. since I start at the rear doors. not only that the ingenious grip of 156 is gone – no, they have to the place also a mega-hazardous, not fitting, standing off In addition to the fact that the models showed about all processing defects. the split dimensions were terrible. my joyous laugh then went away in the interior. ugly. and I say it again. ugly. especially the middle console. fat, thick, wide. no elegance. especially the 3 air intakes. huge. the round instruments go down completely. everything seems clumsy, like roughly carved. where is the style and then the lever for blinker, light, temp omat on the steering wheel. I thought I was sitting in an opel. terrible. I was really disappointed. I first went to the good old 156 and sat down there. then I felt better again. and I wanted to buy myself a 159. but outside HUI inside PFUI. no, I don’t want that. so. that had to be out!

  • Getting new cars?

Have now for 10 days a new 156 sw 2.4 JTD 20v. Really very nice ! Wanted to know your opinion or experience, how to drive a new car. I wanted to now so up to approx. 1000 km the engine some time to play in. Despite the manufacturing tolerances, I think that the pistons and cylinders have to fit in first. Drive therefore therefore at most 160 and max. 4000 revolutions. Furthermore I drive alternately city, country, highway. I switch as much as possible in the speed range of 1000-4000. From 1000 km I wanted to slowly increase to top speed. What do you mean?

  • Help: I don’t know if I should buy a diesel or a petrol truck?

Hi Forum, my wife and I have decided to get a 156 sports car. It should become a used car, but not too old, best after the last facelift. But I fluctuate daily between the decision whether to become a diesel or a gasoline car. We drive about 20-25Tkm a year. So maybe the diesel could already count on it. However, it is of course a few Euros more expensive in the purchase. Besides, I don’t know what the legal situation in terms of particle filtration is. I’m an absulute newcomer to Alfa. I’ve had a touring of 3 cars so far, but the design just did it to my wife and me. That’s why I’m asking you for your advice. Which engine would you recommend? Diesel or petrol? And which one in particular? We’d like to drive the car for a few years. So it would be good if it’s reliable and durable. A steam hammer doesn’t necessarily have to do it. be. Rather a compromise of economy and longevity. Thank you!

  • Brake discs and linings of EBAY

Ebay offers really cheap discs and brake pads. It is always spoken of original equipment quality. Has someone experience with these cheap offers. Must say that the original discs from Alfa also not very long and especially in cold condition tend to scratch. For my Alfa 156 SW 2,4JTD I just have an offer for both front discs incl. pads for 99.-€. Thanks for your tips.
