  • 159 1.9 vs. 320i

Today read in the new AB. The Alfa lost in all points. -Processing in the E90s better, -acceleration in the BMW also better (although the Alfa 10 PS has more, but the NMs come 900 u/m later). -driving behaviour of the BMW better -Alfa no longer has the horny probe… -The Alfa, although longer and wider than the E90s,has less space in the back.Comfortably that the AB tester did not mention the bone hard and totally uncomfortable rear seats of the E90s… The only positive was that he had the Design praised (beauty etc), but could not score any points for it… And a few other things that I don’t think of right now.If anyone is interested, I can look up and post again. I have to say honestly, although the E90 is good for me,and I know the new 320i almost by heart, because a good friend of mine has one, I could not see any clear advantages compared to my 156 BJ 2000.In the opposite, my driving is even more sporty and the steering is a lot different from my 156 BJ 2000. This even my buddy admitted after a long hesitation.. And more comfortable it is also inside, probably at the leather seats. So if the 156 is already like this, how can a 159, who should be even better, cut off so’ bad ‘? Or one fears repressions on the part of BMW at the AB??? hmm mfg

  • Consumption 156 2.0 TS

Moin people, my 156 2.0 TS sucks “newerdings” (relatively, because I don’t have the car that long) relatively much, about 14l in the city with civilian driving i.e. mostly under 4000 giri. I mean to remember that I was at 11l at the beginning, that’s about 2 months ago. cars otherwise run smoothly, pulls good, 225 km/h peak according to tacho etc. candles and zr are new, although the latter probably has little to do with sprite consumption … lufi should still be ok because before 8,000 km changed. I drive only about 8-10 km in the city, i.e. the hurling will not really warm. can this be because ?? mille grazie already ! gruss from the high north andré

  • 147 engines >115 hp

Hello! I would like to know your opinion about the following: I currently have a 1.8l Golf IV with 125 hp. The car is certainly not a rocket under 3000 rpm but the fun starts only from 3000 rpm. (Variable camshaft and 5 valves) In everyday operation (with summer tires, under the week short distance on the WE middle track) it needs about 7.5l to 8l. Let’s assume that I would be interested in one 147. Then it would have to be a motor in any case m It’s at least 115 hp. I’ve already driven the small diesel and the 140 hp diesel engine. Very nice… 😉 But how about the petrol engines? Especially this 1.6l (not the Eco.) and this 2.0 litre with 150 hp. Are the arduous thirsty? Do the oil consume (like the Golf IV 2.0l 115 hp, 1l to 1000 KM) Any other diseases like water pumps, timing belts and such a stupid sense? Motor electronics? Do I have to pay attention to any intervals when buying used (80TKM +/- 20TKM) Does the Selespeed something or are the switch breaks too long? Generally, what is the manual switch transmission for the petrol engines? Does it work just as well as with the diesel? Turn to the 150 HP petrol engine, seat heating, middle armrest (I don’t want to miss anymore) maybe also leather. ThX Pi16 (which is now stoned by the golfers in his company… )

  • Alfa 159 – Interim report 2000 km

Hi, I have now driven almost 2,000 km with my 159 and give an interim report. Because the first Threat is already quite long, I opened up a new one here. I hope that doesn’t bother. 1. According to my opinion, the engine has already gained agility significantly. The car is purely subjectively faster than at the beginning. I have not stopped any times. 2. Consumption is now at around 9 l / 100 km on the highway at speeds of up to 210 km/h according to Tacho. Sunday 90 km of road driving and came to a consumption of 6 l / 100 km – all information according to the on-board computer. I have not had the time to offset the tank receipt – and also not to take photos. But get this after, if there is a little more time. 3. The gears can be switched considerably softer by now, than at the beginning. My dealer had also told me so. 4. Luggage compartment can be used very well despite the high loading edge. The 156 was for us because of the small Koff 5. Operation: I have no problems with the steering stick lever. Tempomat can be switched on easily and after a braking manoeuvre can also start again. Up to now, I have never confused the lever with the turn signal. 6. Instruments are very easy to read. I cannot complain about irritating reflections in the windscreen. Ventilation flap for the right side window is something reflected when I reach the right side window. 7. There was a first defect: a seal in the high-pressure pump for the Xenon headlights leaked. It is replaced tomorrow morning. The Alfa pointed me to the problem precaution by pointing out low liquid level windscreen washing system. My workshop had taken in the car right Saturday morning, examined. The small seal came today. Manufacturer of the pump is said to be Bosch, says my dealer – Alfa can be this defect 8. Seats are very comfortable, even on longer distances. Feel very comfortable at the wheel even after a longer ride – 430 km last Sunday – despite an instant herniated disc. Side stop is absolutely good. 9. Winter tyres and rims should arrive in a week. Keep my fingers crossed!

  • “True pays off”

Hello! Yesterday with the post office I received a “Treuegutschein” over 250€, which I can use if I decide until 30.4. for a 159er. Wanted to ask if one of you has already had experience with the use of this note. In particular I am interested whether this note is to be understood as such a kind of “fixed discount” (which would not be useful, since I am already beyond this amount at the current state of my negotiations) or whether this note is zusäzlic h can be used for the purchase for possible already negotiated discounts – quasi like cash. Thanks for your opinions!

  • Timing belts

Hello together, I have read here often that it is better to change the timing belts every 80 000 km. Is this to do with all Alfa ́s or someone already has experience with a higher running performance. I drive a 166 2.0 l Bj.99 and have now 86 000 km on it. Should you buy the dental equipment as original part or can it be a replica? Can this also make free workshops or should you prefer Alfa?

  • Q2 system in GTA??

hello, have read in the ams the report about the new Q2 system which is installed in the early years in 147 and GT 1,9mjtd, and according to the report the 147 Q2 is not recognizable again. ask me why alfa only now comes with such a system?? a torsen lock differential is not a world first, and ask me what such a differential would bring in a 147/156 GTA or in the GT 3,2? of course a Q4 system is better for the distribution of power, but one should not forget the weight of the Q4 (r and 70kg see 159 3,2Q4), and the Q2 weighs say and write 1kg incredible or?? let’s look at it maybe a later installation is possible or do I lie totally beside it with my idea??? greeting pas.156

  • Test report Alfa 159 SW 2.4

The car now has 1200 km on it: what stands out is the very high-quality workmanship of the car. There you do not have to shy away the comparison with Audi in the least. A lot of technical games, a real BMW cockpit (as BMW has given up), hard but direct chassis, nice seats but with too little side support, quite large turbo hole (softare update comes shortly), extremely great 5 yl. Sound for a diesel, consumption 9.5 liters (only urban traffic until now), climate good, but by Switching a bit of hidden switches, big boot but with a very small hatch, strong light (better than the BMW ́s before), unfortunately always slipping floor mats (will have to come up with something). The 159 looks absolutely good (more valuable than my last 20000 Euro more expensive BMW). An absolutely round car with a lot of great design. I was always BMW fan, that’s over now. They don’t make what I want visually anymore.

  • Alfa 159 Sportwagon

Hello, is someone driving this car?. We are still looking for a new one by the end of January we have to decide. We are still driving the A4 Avant 1.9 TDI at the moment and are quite satisfied with the engine. He has a cut-through consumption of 7.1 liters inside and we are also driving 90% in the city, so sometimes once a month motorway comes in question also only a diesel. Can you tell me something about the new diesel engines in the 159er, which would i hr recommend ?. We will probably also make a test drive the car should then have a Qtronic see if it will be a 1.9 or 2.4 JTDM. Do the 150 hp or should you rather grab the 200 ?. I hope you can help me further.

  • I’m completely perplexed

What do you think about it? I’m ready for the oil change on 156,BJ 1997,120hp,140TKM. At the moment I have 0W40 in it, the lowest oil consumption (mobile) for a long time, about 2 years ago Castrol 10W60 Just I come from an ALfa/Fiat/Lancia screwdriver (free workshop) and he said I can’t drive the 0W40 at all, the engine couldn’t do that, since I have one of the first (“massive oil consumption”, “everything closes”, “can’t shut down the machine” Those were the sets of him, then he has at the side of the mot or some oil smeared (minimum, the car is already 10 years old) and said that comes from it.I should drive 10w40 under some circumstances 10w60, nothing else.. since I am not the screwdriver among the drivers I don’t know what to do either, he actually has no bad reputation at mor in the area or there are not many alternatives if you drive Alfa here.I know, oil is such a topic, but thought through the countless threads here that I drive 10w60 or 0w40 in peace Maybe someone knows a piece of advice, thank you.
