  • Alea iacta est!

After having been able to thoroughly test a 93 convertible over a weekend, I decided to order my first new car, a Saab 93 Troll Cabrio last Thursday. Here’s a short profile: Basis: Saab 93 Aero Color: steel grey (outside) beige with contrasting, lean grey inserts (inside) Packages: HP Trollpacket Business Package Premium Top Package Specials: Surround Trim Integrated car phone without Aero rear spoiler 19 inch HP Light metal rims painted in car color If everything works, I will get the convertible before Easter, otherwise I’ll get it in the next week. I’m looking forward to it already and I’m amazed at the flexibility and speed of hilarious jerk chair in Kloten. Of course I’ll keep you up to date here… Grüssle, Matutu

  • Which navigator system??

Hello together, I’m about to order a Saab 9-3 Aero Sportcombi in the near future and now I’m interested in the question of whether I should order a navigation system or not. Maybe someone can tell me experiences about the Saab navigation system – so whether it works reliably and quickly or how it works compared to competitors. Because almost 3000 euros is already a lot of wood if it is not good at the end. What is actually the exact Unterschi ed between infotainment plus 300 and infotainment premium 300? Thank you in advance, ciao Somic

  • Experiences Hirsch-Motortuning Saab 9-3 1.8t (2004)

Since 19.06.04 I am happy owner of a SAAB 9-3 1.8t (year 2004). Before I drove an MG ZS180. When I bought the Saab, I was unsure what kind of motorization it should get. 150hp or 175hp? My salesman said that I should save the extra charge for the 175hp Saab of 2000EURO, because all the two models were a 2L machine. I should then rather invest 1250EURO in the Hirsch tuning and it would then get out 195hp and the Verein now I ask for some practical experiences from you about the Step1 of Hirsch! Consumption, warranty, reliability, difference to the series, insurance, installation, life, fuel, satisfaction etc.??? Thank you and sorry for the many questions. But I wanted to inform myself before. Greeting Mike

  • Performance curve 2.8 V6 – a dream

Hello. On the weekend in a newsletter I saw the performance curve of the new Aero engine (2.8 V6). Between 2000 – 5000 u/min (almost) the maximum torque is available. Min. 340 Nm are available from 1750 – 5500 u/min. This of course also very late the maximum power (P=M x n). The engine should be very wet. The engine is from the paper values THE throw. Audi and Co attracts you warm.. After a long time again an engine WITHOUT Trionic. New the Bosch Motronic 10 is used. The B207 was probably the last Motot with Trionic. This doesn’t have to be negative. These are the savings measures to consolidate Saab within GM. As a reincarnated 4-cylinder fan I could become weak here. This is the 1st Saab with more than competitive V6 gasoline. Gruss Oliver

  • Model year 2006

Does anyone have infromations about what changes to the model year 2006 (it will be changed again in May?)?? In the convertible, the ventilation nozzles are supposed to appear back, the cupholder and the coin compartment in the center console disappear. In the configurator, the Aero Cabrio of the surround trim appears as “serial equipment”. I don’t think the latter, as this is only available for a few colors.

  • only positive!

Now the capter has blown off his 70,000 KM in the 93’s Perf. Cab. Conclusion: (see caption). The car is a real force. Drives smoothly, consumes a little on the performance reckoned (these energy vignettes are real crap), has a chassis that convinced (perf. is different from Aero), offers sufficient space (not only a golf bag), goes also on long distance (the 95’s is relaxed), makes all around fun. I am therefore thoroughly enthusiastic.

  • Aero 2.8 V with EDS tuning

Hello everyone, I drive an Aero 2.8 with EDS tuning, should be the same as from Kroymans. My problem is that the car does not go faster than 245 km/h. I like to believe the torque with 500NM, since the Hirsch tuning was played before. But the 300 HP, I don’t know. Has one of you had similar experiences? Greeting Mark

  • Decision support: 9-3 1.9TiD or 1.8t Biopower?

Hello dear, my 9-5 Aero will return to the dealer in a few days after the end of the lease – now I’m looking for a replacement. After a test drive with an Audi A4 Avant (Quattro, Diesel, Super Seats, gruesome louder and tough TDI engine, ignition key in wrong position) I think that the 9-3 Kombi should become a worthy successor for the next 3 years.9-3 1.9 TiD (150 HP) The cost of tax, insurance, customer service and expected diesel costs (7 L/100km at 15000km p.a.) amount to sic h in 3 years to 14,500 euros.9-3 1.8t BioPower (175 hp) The cost of tax, insurance, customer service and estimated petrol costs (9 L/100km at 15000km per year) is 18,300 euros (Super) in 3 years or 17,000 euros (pure E85 operation at 30% extra consumption ggü. Super). I have an E85 tank nearby – 1litre costs 99 cents. The leasing conditions are almost identical for both vehicles. Thus, there is a clear financial advantage in favour of diesel (which is my favourite at the moment). My driving profile consists of about 70% of routes in between 10 and 15km (road, city) and 30% of at least 40km to 400km (road, highway). My questions Is this unsuitable or even dangerous for the diesel (particle filters are too expensive, consumption disadvantage diesel, as a lot of short distance?) Are there other important aspects that I should consider in my choice? Thank you for inspiring answers. PS: No matter which one of them is my favourite. – another deer – update is recorded (diesel: 175hp, 1.8 biopower: 195hp) Greeting, decision – club

  • Purchase advice 9-3 TID or TTID, Vector or Aero

Moin Moin, I guess it’s time that the old 3.0 bran has to say goodbye to me before he leaves me somewhere. I’ll probably decide for the Saab withdrawal and get me a new one. I already have an acceptable offer. The question is only I take a 9-3 TID or a TTID. Since there are no experiences about the TTID, I always think about my 3.0TID and its problems. Do I have to do that????? Or TID plus deer???? Vector plus a few extras or even the Aero with less extras to choose from. Both of them cost around 41 -42 kilos. What would you take? Does the Aero (sometimes) bring a higher resale value? Thanks for a few tips

  • Ski bag cabrio 93

Hello, I’m new to the forum. I’ve been dealing with the topic of convertible for a long time. I liked the Saab Cabrio and the Mercedes CLK. I also drove both: Saab Vector 175PS and the CLK 200 compressor. I think the Saab is more suitable for everyday use (front wheel drive, cover). The problems with knarzen and crackling make me thoughtful (I know from Chrysler Grandvoyager AWD (11 years) see hard plastic and I don’t know at all at the Mercedes E320 (W210) meanwhile My question as a winter sports fan goes in the direction of a ski bag. There is no solution at all for the installation of a ski bag in the Saab convertible. Unfortunately, the initially praised Cargo Wing is obsolete. Thanks already for your advice. mfG Michael
