  • The headlamps

Hello together… good new year still………………… a few weeks ago I sent here a post, in which I was surprised that my fog lights are covered in rain and high humidity from the inside in the corners.. I got a rather high response to the problem that also other Saab 9-3II drivers “suffer” under the problem. Since I have already had them replaced ( on guarantee ) and the new ones also b I hardly use it anyway, because the light output is very weak. But now it has unfortunately not remained with the fog lights. My two clear glass headlights now also fog from the inside when it rains or a high humidity prevails. It is most extreme at the respective lower corner of the main blinker reflector (to the fender ) and then pulls down over the entire headlight width to the radiator grille. Of course I have no Guarantee more and I’m already thinking a little bit about the apparent Xenon filaments. Normally such a headlight housing should be airtight. And if leaks occur, then certainly not after 2 and a half years. 1. Is it normal that the headlights from the inside fogged? 2. do the headlights have separate seals, which can be exchanged? (The clear glass cover seems to be removable, as those with such flaps on the main light body when you open the hood you see the plastic flaps ) Who has similar problems ?? I thought in 2008 I would have some rest….but that was probably nothing. Greetings The Moose

  • Sound of the Infotainment 300

Unfortunately I have to deal with it again: after the change of the computer my nav goes again, I have searched for another annoyance at the Infotainment 300 and found: the miserable sound !!! I already wonder if something (more precisely: the subwoofer) does not work…? At low volume everything sounds quite good, bassy slightly narrow, but ok. But as soon as I make a little louder (with open roof in road traffic), it becomes a disaster. I have to have the bass almost completely h If I put the fader back (where the subwoofer should sit, or ? Is it controlled by the fader ?) only tinned squawk comes. If I put the fader forward, there are a few basses, but – as described – at volume just above room volume, immediately start to destroy the boxes. Is this also so pathetic with you ? Or is something wrong with my ? greetings, Thomas

  • Bizarre ESP intervention

Dear Saab community Just come back from a little trip into the Alps and there’s nothing for me to control the ESP in every second turn, better to say from the corner exit – on a dry road and without my saabine getting into the sling. What’s that supposed to mean, do you know that too? Is that so-called normal? I noticed a metal tone just before the ESP started, such a short “sound” that seems to come from the area of the steering column. Dubio S. Drive a 9-3 SportCombi 2.0T MY07 and be very happy with my car.

  • Does he have a soot particle filter?? 9-3 Kombi Tdi 150PS Built 2005

Hello, And this is about our Saab 9-3, which we recently bought used. 9-3 Kombi 1,9 tdi 150PS First registration Sept. 2005. In the letter and bill there is nothing of a soot particle filter, as well in the tax notice and thus we pay taxes as if he had no one. However, when buying and even now my father assumed that a particle filter is already standard at the year 2005 ?! Does anyone know if it can also be with year 05 that no particle filter How can you just find out? How does a particle filter look like, or can you even see it when you’re under it? Thanks for the help, Greeting Peter

  • Adieu Saab

Hello @all, The time has come, my Saab is HISTORY. Unfortunately, Saab has nothing in the offer that would suit my needs. Of the size it would have become a Saab 9-5. But I don’t want to buy a vehicle that has been on the market for so long and which is certainly not up to the state of the art compared to the competition. I would like to thank all Saab forum members for the friendly support with my difficult questions. Saab will not be able to When the new 9-5 is presented, I will certainly consider the car. (Until this is the time, the lease of my new vehicle has expired) Thank you and all the best with the moose MfG JürgS

  • Disappointed by fog lights

after I now own the 9-3 half a year, yesterday night was the first situation in which I had to use the fog lights. after switching on I was very disappointed. the illumination especially to the edge of the road is defective and also the floor in front of the vehicle is only insignificantly better illuminated than with the dipped beam. moreover, the position of the key is also failed. in the blind test you can almost not feel it. depending on the position of the seat it will be also hidden from the steering wheel and you have to take the view from the road to press it. The same then applies to the fog lamp. since I praise my old primera with a turning ring on the blink lever opposite my previous vehicles, this is unfortunately a great disappointment!

  • Transfer costs

So, I finally decided to order the Saab 9-3TiD as service vacillators. The various comparisons and calcifications are through, the competing A4 is probably beaten, although I was so far A4 driver. Was just again with the dealer to clarify some details, then the language came on the topic of transfer costs. Unfortunately I have to bear it myself, and what the dealer opened up to me almost let me fall backwards: transfer costs = 650€!!! ts almost lost language, that’s almost 2% of the gross list price, is it still possible? I paid my Audi about the 500DM a few years ago, with my second car (Mitsubishi L200) 300€, and I still managed to get them down. And now that. I have to say honestly that the anticipation of the Saab has quite ravaged me. How are your experiences regarding the Ü-costs, can you do something? MST

  • 9-3 1.8i

This afternoon I visited Hirsch Ruckstuhl (better service than Hirsch SG ) spontaneously to look at the 9-3 SS with suction engine. And what should I say?! I was very impressed with the vehicle, the engine and the customer service! The machine works very, very quietly, and the car has a wonderfully “easily” clutch. But also the gearbox leaves no wishes open in terms of switching comfort. Well, unfortunately, there is little to be found on the web about this variant. I am interested in whether another user has already gained experience with this vehicle.

  • Qualifying choice – Cabrio

Hello, I hope you can help me with this. There are two 9.3 convertibles available, one with the 2.0 engine with 175 hp, the other only with the 1.8 (150 hp), but with Infotainment Plus 150 (Navi). Price is identical, additional equipment is also available. Question to you: more engine or more orientation?

  • Desaster Saab 9-3 2.2TiD year 2004

Hello, I’ve been a Saab driver for 10 years. Always had petrol models. Everything was great. At the beginning of 2004 I bought the new 9-3 2.2 TiD by leasing. Since then Panne is following on breakdown. Here are the highlights: 4 months ago my clutch completely broke (at KM 30,000 – I drive to 90% highway…). Ok –> Warranty case. Yesterday evening I went up at 160 on the highway the engine – nice feeling…, dealer analyses still… Well my Question: Has anyone had a similar bad experience with the new 9-3 2.2 TID?
