For about 2 weeks now my 9-5er Kombi makes me 2.3t headache, since yesterday also stomach ache. But only the previous history: In the contract workshop a defective light bulb on the dipped light front left was detected and replaced during the air conditioning maintenance. The problem with this is that just one day before I had already changed the same lamp! The game always repeated itself every 2-3 days when the engine was lit, always at the front left. This morning I come into the garage and must be surprised that my car does not open at the push of a button. I first thought that the battery of the remote control was empty – wrong. Then I noticed that the LED of the alarm system did not flash. Then I opened the driver’s door manually and then found that the interior lighting was no longer possible. I knew that a battery could weaken after a few years. But that this would happen so suddenly. I don’t even like the interior lighting. Nothing is happening anymore. Everything went wonderful yesterday. I as a layman would now tap on the alternator. Constantly too much electricity and then all at once nothing more is strange. Sounds like the battery hasn’t been charged for a long time. What do the experts think about it? Greetings and thank you in advance!

Another question to smart people:
Hello dear brothers and sisters, do you really have to be particularly “sufferable” as a Saab driver – with regard to reliability and workshop costs? Or do the problems/experiences to be read here everywhere in the tolerable range – pecuniary and mental? Or else: Do you need nerves like wide noodles and a particularly thick purse for this automobile sin? I would like to know how this is the opinion here. With Saab-like greetings Kalle Saabström

Navi test driver asked
Servus Navi owner, have a question. Which Navi to choose. DVD-Fettfinger-Navi or Becker Online-Pro if the new one may become a 9.5 combo. Never had a Navi. Thanks in advance Greeting Günter

Inspection and other costs!
Good evening together, after my heating oil swede now had about 85,000 km with – for me a lot of pleasure – the first bigger things were on… I had the automatic air conditioning check, the brake pads on the front wheels were renewed and the “normal” inspection was carried out. Since I unfortunately did not meet the master anymore due to the late time and nobody could explain the bill to me, I would like to ask you the question. So these points have sponta me times I confess, I lied, it was only 849,48 € 😉 Yes, I know that a special taste is a bit more expensive, but sooo expensive ? The other inspections were about 300 €. Overall, the car makes me so much fun that I am also willing to pay these costs. (Do I have already ;-)) but it is not really cheap, or ? Do you have similar experiences ? Many greetings from the West… d.

Saab 9-5, buy or let?
Hi! I’d like to ask you a question. I’m interested in a Saab 9-5, 2,3l turbo with 170 hp. The car is 12/97, 84,000 km running, has a lot of extras and Saab checkbook. Price is about EUR 14,500. Since I’m a Saab fan since the beginning of my driver’s life, it would appeal to me. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa stands at a Saab dealer and warranty seems to be possible (over a year s. warranty). Would be very happy about your answers! Greetings, Lars

Who “educated” his aero with deer?
Hello dear, in the forum a lot was written about tuning, such as in this thread of ollo95. What I could not find were detailed reports from people who drive a HIRSCH. I got in touch with the Swiss and know that there are the following 2 tuning levels for the 9-5 2.3T (series 220PS/310NM) and the 9-5 Aero (series 250PS/350NM):Step1 280 PS/400 Nm includes a complete intake system, larger charge air cooler, exhaust system from catalyst, adapted softwar e.Step2 305 hp / 420 Nm (automaton 400 Nm) like Step1, in addition with sport catalyst, larger turbocharger and modified petrol pressure regulator. At Step2 the sports suspension and the 4-piston brake must be mounted. I am interested in “reports” from the HIRSCHen about reliable conduction, durability, satisfaction, consumption and wear (tires, clutch etc. …) Those who have pleasure and experience should reach for the spring (or better to the keyboard). Thank you & Greetings Keule69

Shock absorber or wheel suspension defective?
Good evening, I have a problem since recently (cold outside temperatures) I hear a snorting or squeaking (such as rubber on rubber, or old mattress) sound from behind when crossing unevennesses (e.g. channel lid). With increasing outside temperatures or after a long motorway ride it is quieter or not audible anymore. Shock absorbers from outside are dry, no oil outlet can be seen. The original Saab sports suspension has been fitted with level control, mileage around 11 7,000 km. Does anyone know a possible or probable cause?

New 9-5er at the IAA
Hello guys, was at the presentation of the new 9-5er at the IAA. The presentation was modest (compared to e.g. Audi), but stylish. The car has really become a ship. Front typical Saab plane leaning, back like a coupé. As a Saab fan I naturally fell in love, although objectively seen he is certainly not a design highlight. What do you think? I put a few photos (sorry, iphone camera) on it.

Uni-Fit catalysts
Hello municipality, I need your experiences again (if available ) Can someone tell me about experiences with Uni-Fit catalysts?? Ne new plant for my 6ender would beat with only 359€ to Busche (I find quite fair) however I also do not want to buy the cat in the bag and again constantly delete my error memory (see topic from 04.09). Can someone tell me about his experiences?? Already many thanks greetings from the Pütt Martin

Software update for Kenwood Navi
Small experience report on the touchscreen Navi in 9-5 to MY 04: At ebay some FORD-Navi CDs are currently offered with the status 2004/2005. With some luck I shot one for 30EUR and see: Works great! After a reset a new firmware was loaded (if you don’t have to do it, wg. the new TMC version 3 should be important – I had TMC retrofitted). So now the Saab logo is displayed at the start nict more but a KENWOOD logo (doesn’t matter). ler, which I had discovered in the neighborhood, are all fixed. So: a real alternative to the original DVD for 400€.
