  • New Aero driver introduces himself

Hello, I’m new here in the forum, I bought a 2000er 9-5er Aero Kombi a good 4 months ago; I’ve driven 5000km (now 120Tkm) and quite satisfied with the part; car has been maintained up to 75000 normal stapled, then sieve control and all 10T km new oil; ignition cassette and air mass meters are new; I plan to check again at 125T km; so until now I’m really happy, engine runs clean, consumption with lots of city 10l, oil consumption minimal; only until now fix lbaren Manko: teilw. Ruckeln at constant 140km/h – but also only there; will the throttle cap be (SID shows no fault); how long does it last? or is an exchange already advisable? Does a little….; do the parts really only last up to max 120T km?; what about turbo – does it have to be replaced? (By the way absolutely no heater!) I would be very happy about your answers. Hewson

  • Oil the X-te

Is it true that, when changing from mineral to fully synthetic oil (mobile 1), there is a risk that combustion residues in the engine will dissolve uncontrollably, clog the oil sieve and cause engine damage, so that an engine that is about 100,000 km fuelled with mineral engine oil should no longer be switched to synthetic oil? Is it true that when switching to fully synthetic oil, there is a risk that the engine will be replaced with synthetic oil. I really don’t know myself at all and would like to switch my Saab to Mobile 1, but I don’t know what kind of oil was in it so far. Should the conversion really solve coal residues, wouldn’t that be really good, would it?

  • Fusch with the driver foot mat, with the combi “hutablage” and with the rear wiper – quality problems!

Now I have the second Saab 9-5 Kombi (first registration from 04/2003) and both times the floor mat is wrongly installed for the driver. At the first Saab I thought it was a coincidence but now with the new (12/2006) the same crap: the fixing knobs, so that the floor mat does not slip away, are so attached that the mat always lies crooked in it (front to the middle). That has to be noticed by someone during the production or the pennants. Also missing with the “hat” storage in the cabin a possibility where m In the “new” it is quite bright and constantly I have to remove any thumb prints because the fingers cannot be clean enough that it doesn’t happen. For this, the trunk now has an electrical act, which, if you press the opener button i.d. driver door (and of course also in the FB) makes the warning flash lamps shine several times. In the FB I can still understand that but what should the with the manual opener? What does the rear window wiper look like with you? With my “new one” the disc is not wiped at the top because the wiper is not there – and the wiper blade is not there. With my “old one” this was never a problem at all and there was never the wiper blade renewed because always OK. When I compared the wiper, I saw that both are different (below the axis the “old one” has a round cover). Looks very half-hearted. – No one’s thinking about Saab anymore?

  • Blinker in front jumped out

He had a 95 2.3 deer. So far he was totally satisfied with Saab and his dealer. In both cases the marriage seems to have been divorced. But it didn’t just have to do with the turn signal. He had lost the left front turn signal on the highway (brain was never broken, so there was no one left). Of course he danced back and forth on the cable and made everything worse for him in the front. According to the dealer with him the 23rd case and already a repeat case. Iller (not cheaper) the turn signals to pay and the painting work to initiate than a recall action. Who has already lost the turn signals of you during the trip?

  • 2 Aero questions about TCS and automatic

Hello, I’m looking for an aero at the moment and I’ve tested 2 in the meantime: both BJ 2000, both about 130Tkm on the speedometer. The first was a combination and was rather aggressive to drive (as expected). During acceleration, 1st and 2nd gear pedal on the ground, the TCS indicator light lit up again and again, one noticed that the car brings enormous power to the front wheels. The second car (limousine) lacked this impression, and when accelerating, there was also no TCS to be seen, and subject iv he wasn’t quite sooooo hot either. Which Phaenomen is normal? Could it mean that something could not be okay with the 2nd car? Another question for those who have experience with both switches and automatics: Is the (feeled) difference very large? I know, is probably more personal injury than anything else…but I ask because I found an interesting used 9.5 Aero automatic (2002), but unfortunately no possibility that car before a possible purchase test drive (i.e. make a test drive and then immediately buy or not buy). With automatic I have basically already experience, but was never really convinced until now. Thanks and mfg grani

  • Who can advise me on buying???

Hello guys I want to get a SAAB but I’m not sure how it looks with the quality of the same. The model I’ve seen is quite cheap to have. Can anyone help me???? Are these good reliable cars? Greetings Achu

  • 2.2 TiD Cold start problems

Good evening to the gentlemen, I needed your advice. Our 2.2TiD recently starts very badly in cold condition, only starts after about five to seven seconds organs. The diesel filter, the leak oil pipes and the plastic distributor pieces, the traverse seals, all vacuum hoses have already been exchanged. I have visited the workshop again today, which has now found out that there is no glow at all. There should be a starting glow and an afterglow apart from the annealing, the Workshop has not been able to diagnose any of these. Of course, there is no stored error code, glow plugs pick up current when you connect it externally. Also the feedback signal of the incandescent control unit arrives at the PSG16, can be read out with the Tech2. Did any of you have a similar problem with the incandescent system? Thank you

  • What happened: First all warning lights glow, then nothing goes on

Saab-community, and especially highly esteemed hangover! Unbelievable but true: Whenever I break a lance for Saab or my 9-5 with year 2003 (if this model is possible) something happens to me. This week I had written Luxi that my car has nothing except the “normal defects” and today the following happens to me: During the journey with speed 30 (traffic-relieved zone) the Navi goes off for a short time (1-2 sec.), after that again, only then all warning lamps shine (Airbag o ff, ABS etc.). As a computer man I am surprised but think to know the solution: start engine off and again. But nothing there, instead of starting I hear front left from the bonnet only a metallic crack. The probably naive attempt to help with starter cable also fails (especially since the car already has power). In the key turn shows the on-board computer check “OK”. I hope you can tell me what thing is. Thank you in advance and the best greetings from Munich

  • Automatic transmission announces the friendship

It was clear to me that the automatic transmission in the 9-5 is not too good to talk about proper torque, but if you get it yourself, you can hardly believe it. The symptoms are not even so bad with me, but I think that’s still coming. A friend carries a 9-5 Aero and I have something that was a 2.0t, but now has about twice the power. The Aero is similar, and both cars bring at least 440 Nm. For a few weeks we both observe that When switching from “N” to “D” or “R”, the gearbox takes about a second of time before it can be felt (not hoerbar) and grabs with a jerk. The Aero has it now actually constantly, my car increasingly frequent. While driving, the gearboxes then switch quite normally, i.e. not somehow rough. Naturally, we all know that the gearboxes are not designed for this power and that it has to come earlier or later so. So we do not need to discuss this here. There is also no complaint about the repair, which is probably not quite cheap. What interests me is the question whether it is done with the replacement of the valve housing (Art. No. 5449780), as we were told here, or whether the symptoms suggest that more needs to be exchanged. What is the possibility of the complete gearbox? Or is there even a more favorable solution? I assume that a repair and even a complete gearbox replacement will not last a long time. If we continue to add such torques to the gearbox, what is it like to convert a 9-5 from automatic to manual transmission? With the old 900s and also with the 9000 it was possible to do so, but how does it depend electronically in the 9-5?

  • Saab 9-5 2.2 TID vs. Volvo V70

Hello all Saab drivers, I am currently driving a Volvo V70 2.5 T with 200 hp in full equipment. I drive in the year between 25 – 30 Tsd km. Unfortunately, the consumption is about 12 l. I look at the moment for an equivalent diesel vehicle. To the choice stands the above vehicle in a very poor equipment (Linar). 125000 run km. for 12000 thalers. Now the decision is quite difficult for me, since I would miss a large part of the equipment already. Have you an idea if ma or is the price so hot that you should hit it? Or turn to something else like a passat? Maybe a short note. By car a caravan 1200 kg is to be pulled. (on vacation) Thank you for your help. Wamis
