  • SID, ignition cassette and touchscreen

Dear friends and fellow sufferers, at about 80 tkm and 4 years of age, the usual problems arise with my 9-5, MJ 2003. Despite the efforts of the search function (honestly) I have not received satisfactory answers to the questions that have been raised. I therefore ask you for help: 1. The SID shows the known pixel errors as soon as the display is warmed up by the operation. Because I certainly can not get the extension and the guarantee for a defrost How cheap is a new SID 1 (€ 176 net?) and what does the client practice at Saab look like? I have picked up somewhere that there are chances of culling with this misconstruction up to 100 tkm. 2. The Navi touch screen (Kenwood) can no longer be properly operated at low/high temperatures. It is as if the screen had slipped under the surface, so that unfortunately also the calibration keys can not be used properly. Does anyone know how kulant Saab behaves here? 3. Although I do not yet have any signs of smoking the DI cassette. But if this happens, more often unburned fuel enters the exhaust system, so that the departure of the Lamda probe in the cat. is the next step. Because I have no nerves to fight this out with Saab in the case of a case, I think to have the ignition cassette replaced precautionally. What is the current price of the new ignition cassette? and the culling behavior of Saab? Thank you for your efforts.

  • After 12 years Audi landed at the Saab 9-5

After almost 13 years of “Audifraktion” (2 X Avant V6 – 1 x Coupe 2.3 Liter V5) and my last 8 weeks of Odysee through the workshops (gear problem at 2.5 TDI) there was an “emotional” short circuit and within 10 minutes I was a Saabfahrer. I am up to now (except for a little muffy smell in the interior) quite impressed by the car. There is nothing to worry about. Every now and then only explanations when people are standing in front of the car and can’t do anything with it. Easy 15 pieces allowed in the district when it comes up 🙂 Greetings from Brandenburg

  • First purchase of a 9-5 station wagon

Hello expert round, actually our family was looking for a Volvo V70. Since the offer in our price range is not huge, we sat at some point also in a 9-5er station wagon. We immediately liked the car. We consider it now as well. I have some questions about the purchase. What to pay attention to, where are Macken? Which engine is particularly good? Can the EURO 3-diesel be converted to EURO 4 (what price)? Are the cars as robust and durable as a Volvo or an Audi (now also in question)? Is there anyone who has experience with car gas (which system would be recommended here)? I would like to thank you in advance for your help!

  • Decision-making aid 9.3 or 9.5 SC

Hello, I plan to buy a new Saab and I am very unsure which one it should become. Since I am on the road a lot of work it should definitely be the 1.9 TiD machine. But I am not sure if I should buy a 9.3 SC or 9.5 SC. Externally I like both vehicles, but from the interior equipment I feel subjectively more comfortable in 9.5. The 9.3 looks clearly “cheap”. In addition, I would expect the quietness and the comfort of the 9th. However, the 5-speed transmission of the 9.5 in fast motorway operation would also have to listen louder than the 6-speed transmission of the 9.3. But does this also make itself noticeable on longer distances at approx. 160 km/h? I hope the one or the other from the forum already has comparative experiences, otherwise I am also grateful for any opinion on this topic. Thanks and greeting Schaminski

  • Confusion

Hello everyone, why am I not getting rid of the vague suspicion of being cheated by garages? At my Aero 2000 the 70 tkm inspection was due. Call to the Saab dealer in Munich for price orientation –> approx. 280,- EUR. The car was brought to the workshop, asked again –> approx. 300,- confirmed. Note on my part that the interior filter has already been changed and therefore should not be taken into consideration. When collecting the invoice was: 295,-. Supposedly the filter costs fas t 100,- plus working time then certainly 100,-. By this amount then the invoice would have to be reduced compared to the estimate? Long speech short sense: How much is so elsewhere for the 70 tkm inspection to pay? Thank you for your information. Somehow I have to calm my misice, although it is supposed to be horny?! saabäro

  • Control chain/balance wave chain

Dear community, (maybe also the hangover is just around the corner…) my 2.3 Lpt model 2000 has now run 135,000. I can’t detect any oil-coking (test tip without oil tub disassembly came from the hangover). Now the chain gets loud. I assume that there is “normal” wear here. (…good at the 9000er it was 210000 in, a colleague got with his 9000er at 140000 ne new). Question: “Only the control chain with spanners renew or is there another program ?. Au f which costs can I be curious ? and what is there in addition to consider ? Repair will then be my friendly (free) Saab-Greek in Ludwigsburg. Greetings Jazzer 2004

  • 3 year 9-5 3.0 TID What now?

Hello, my conclusion after 3 years 9-5 3.0 TID MY04: I feel really comfortable with the oil bowl up to a few points (see below). A bit rough for the city traffic, but that was clear from the beginning. My problem points: – tailgate does not go far enough, so that you have to bend with 1.93 height extremely to invite heavy things (is even worse, if you have a curb edge) – oil estimate rod annoying – the thought that the engine has only a low half-life – the De sign Audio control in the Navi-Touch you want to hit the manufacturer (Saab = Design???) – the kick-down cloud behind me and no soot filter in sight The following defects occurred in 3 years: – strong oil loss Vaccuum pump defective at 17TKM – Hydauliksupport tailgate almost no longer available – slight click noise front axle ?? – light width regulation sometimes spins (e.g. at the stand at the traffic light) – Airbag light is present several times for a short time and then never again The big ße question is what’s coming now. With the small diesel in the same vehicle I certainly won’t be happy… So either gasoline or brand change sniffed … Ubi.

  • What do you think – 2003er 9-5 Aero with well over 100,000 km?

Once again I was given for a given occasion Actually we were today at the Saab dealer to look at a 9-5 Kombi 2.3t for my father. Unfortunately there was also a steel grey 9-5 Aero Kombi and immediately kindled my father’s heart. As far as everything is good, since maintenance is not sooo far from the 2.3t apart. What makes me a little unsure is the mileage of 130,000 km and the associated horror stories regarding durability in the forums. The car as such is wonderfully equipped with leathers sitting with memory automatic with Sentronic Xenon business package with Backer-Navi sliding roof Metallic etc. The Aero has an EZ 10/02 (2003 model) is from 1st hand, patchbook maintained with 130,000 customer service (all according to the manual after 20,000) and according to Saab history was changed with the customer services still nothing but even nothing (except wear is clear ) The car would cost with 1 year used car warranty 13,300 EUR (NP was around 4 years ago at 50,000 EUR ) All a question the risk-taking, a lot of panic-making of the mentioned forum topics or is the 9-5 Aero mentioned year better than his reputation? Maybe there are some of you with similar running performances that can report. What do you think, buy or rather resist the temptation? Best regards

  • Soot particulate filters

Hello together, I just got an offer from my Saab dealer for diesel particle filter retrofitting. 2.2 TiD for 990,00 Euro, 3.0 TiD for the complete price of 1,190,00 Euro. When I bought my 3.0 TiD with 47,000 km almost 2 years ago, I would have immediately “schlag”. At that time I didn’t know anything about the running bush problem and found the car just great. But today, with 70,000 km (not yet recognizable motro problems) I would not venture without “back cover” from eu We are also waiting for the funding programme of the Federal Environment Ministry. But there is it, the DPF for retrofitting. I would like to know whether the retrofitting could have an impact on engine durability.
