This is a pure question of curiosity and entertainment. It is always said by Saab drivers that they have a tendency towards individualism, typical representatives come e.g. from the advertising and media industry or are architects. Is that so? I have the impression here in the forum that they are relatively down-to-earth, intelligent and socially very competent people, quite with a certain car passion, but without any snobistic walk. Personally I only know a 9.5 Fa hrer, and he is a medium-sized entrepreneur with three children and aborted teachership. But that’s of course not meaningful… π So, question about the weekend and for the summer hole: What kind of people are those who drive a Saab, especially a 9.5? And what image do they have, how does the not Saab world take a Saab9.5 driver, a Saab9.5 rider?

Now a 9-5 station wagon is included
After the three 9-3 has now been added in the form of a 9-5. Already long there was interest on my part in a 9-5 combo, but all had advised me nevertheless to grab a VW Passat tdi, what I had also done. 1. Hand, shackle-picked and in the first year immediately 4500 Euronen buttered. After the cylinder head came down, to eliminate the water loss, shortly afterwards a hydrostump broke into its components and has thus helped to total damage . Worse can not be SAAB, except 3.0 ltr diesel I thought and thus began the search. Since we have neither a highway nearby nor other expressways, I have satisfied myself with a 150 HP gasoline with automatic. Gapless checkbook and up-to-date new service with automatic oil change and new HU he is now our. If he lives as long as my 96 V4, then he will be 58 years old and I would then 102 :-)))). So far it will probably not come, which also nobody expects. he can be longer than the cursed VW already. With his almost 15 years he drives himself very pleasant – nothing rattles or scrapes. The engine sounds like a sech cylinder and the transmission switches buttery soft. So something the VW could not say about itself. He will also eat money, the control chains will be due after all, or even a turbocharger, but this is also not to be expected with any other vehicle. Finally, even these just wear parts – nic hts lasts forever except the love for SAAB π Your Michl

95er Aero too little performance after installation of new engine
Good morning Forum I drive among others a Saab 95 Aero Sportkombi automatic, BJ 02/2004. After an engine damage meir my free workshop has installed another (used) aero engine. The Aero also drives again, but has too little power when speeding up. It jerks very strongly. In the error memory are no messages stored, the turbocharger has been checked, as well as the spark plugs (NGK BCPR6ES-11). On suspicion we have already installed the ignition cassette of my Saab 93, BJ 04/2002. But there was no improvement. What can be checked now? Unfortunately, my workshop doesn’t know any more. Thank you very much and many greetings from Michael Mark

Saab 9-5 needs help
Hello, I bought a 2001s Saab 9-5 combo with 185 hp and automatic transmission. Is a Swiss model. 205,000 km of complete maintenance at Saab all about 15,000 km. It is not yet installed the new crankcase ventilation. Unfortunately the ZKD is also over. Otherwise everything in it except sunroof, CD changer and theft warning system. Now to my questions: can I install the oil tank seal also with a seal made of 0.3 mm sealing paper? (I have my problems with sealant) Pressure tube just before the entrance a throttle valve housing I have a connection for a pipe, similar to the connection to the vacuum pume at the cylinder head. Where does the pipe come from where do I have to look? I found nothing at first glance. Does the automatic transmission from the 3.0t V6? LG Karsten

9-5 Aero MY 2001 – Engine change
Good day on all sides ! Before ….yes , I’ve already used the SuFu extensively ; either I can not find the right search terms , or on the subject there is hardly anything π I want to replace the engine for covert reasons , my information is up to date , if I take a B 235 E engine until MY 2002 , then this is easily possible . Because I have turbo and cobra pipe from the R …. I can do without the sodium-filled valves . Alternatively it seems easier , B 235 R from 2002 to 2004 to find ; these differ according to my information only by the hole in the engine block for the new PCV. Can the conversion into the car from 2001 ….would be only an advantage, because of the lower oil consumption. Has someone already done this, or closer information about it? Gruss Artarun

Purchase advice SAAB 9-5
Hello, all this week have received 2x B235 engines with engine damage, both MY 2005 ! from MY2004 are the engines with additional hole in the engine block, a desperate attempt of GM to keep the long oil change intervals It is at this point of purchase advice, which are published in some German-language forums, to warn ! These purchase advices are created by unsuspecting users who had never to deal with SAAB professionally The “special knowledge”in these forums comes from hearsays So, on all SAAB petrol B2X5 turbomotors need 10,000km oil change, no matter if MY 1998 or MY 2009 at extended oil change intervals there is engine damage. Guaranteed

9-5er ARMLEHNE = KINDERSITZ ??
Dear Saabgemeinde – there is always something to be amazed about. Then a Saab-colleague works down the middle armrest (backseat) of his 9-5er, puts his 6-year-old son on it and straps him on. He explains to the astonishing parent shaar that the backrest is 1) so stable and it is 2) allows it to be used as a child seat. As a Saab-driver, who occasionally takes children with him, I find the idea not bad – only is that true? Does that hold? uen.

Monday car?
Dear Saabgemeinde, last year I bought a Saab 9-5 Kombi 2.3 with 125 KW and 45000 KM privately. Now to my problems: First I noticed a leak in the tailgate, I don’t know how the water comes into the taillights. Then the first inspection (with brake disc change 1000,- Euro). Then the car starts to jerk a bit at speed 100. The next day it doesn’t start any more. The ADAC fiddles about an hour until it starts again, with the hint, “be He was right, the throttle flap was changed in the workshop. Three months later, the same behaviour. The throttle flap was changed again. Will pick up the car from the workshop yard, he does not jump on. Result, her turbocharger is also broken. New turbocharger in. After a week I see oil stains in the garage entrance. No problem cylinder head seal broken. Everything repaired. A week later. At 160 KM/h on the left track the engine goes a The next day, the car runs uneasy like a tractor until it runs out. The workshop has just towed it. I’m curious what will be installed tomorrow. Has any of you had the same experience, or do I have a so-called Monday car?
