  • Saab 9-5 engine damage

Hello, I’m new here and say hello for the time being. Now I also have a question: we bought our 9-5 used in March 2008. Bj 05/02 with 135,000 Km. Now the used car warranty has expired and there was a fatal engine damage. Lt. Saab at least 2,500 Euro, if it is only the head seal. More likely is a bagged barrel. So Irreperable, 9,500 Euro for ATM. Apprs. ATM! The dealer (that was not Saab) wants to know nothing about the problem. Sure, Garant he has just expired. We have now found out that the vehicle got an ATM at 55,000 Km. The dealer did not mention this i ́m purchase contract. Nor is it true that the car (according to the purchase contract) has a heater and a third headrest. Ok. The headrest is not the problem. But since the heater does not exist and the engine is in the KV and the engine has been changed, which is not i KV, is somehow something wrong. e that the dealer is at least involved in the costs… Thank you and greetings, pete.the.beat.

  • Air conditioning to the second

Hello to all, with me now 2 x coolant loss within 3 weeks with unsuccessful leak search until today. After the car was overnight in the workshop for observation in the draining condensate under the passenger door leak agent was detected. Suspect of the workshop is that the evaporator is defective in the interior. I have also come since the failure of the air conditioning a bad smell from the ventilation. Cost of new evaporators are very high, the working time with up to 3, 5 pcs. d. specified. My request: Does someone have a working used evaporator or where do I get a semi cheap new one? I hope for sufficient information, don’t let me hang. With greeting to Alle , Axel

  • today again…

So slowly I have the impression that my car doesn’t like me anymore 🙁 Just I get into the car on the company premises, engine starts and all lights go off (as always) – only “check engine” burns. So again exited (engine continues running), bonnet up and rough checked….was still available, the engine. What now ? engine runs like it should, on gas and on gasoline, the car drives quite normal, the loader runs, power is available (well, I was a bit ahead of tig, but more than a base charge pressure he already brings). Engine switched off several times and left again – no problem. So what does he want to tell me? I drove home now the 35km (average consumption was ok)… What would you do – to the next Saab workshop (45km) and let me read out errors, or disconnect battery and so delete the error memory ? Does someone have clever suggestions what it could be ? Only observation would be a slightly lower idle – at the estimate I guess about 600 rpm….hm. False air ? hoses all seem to be still there; flashlube container is still full.

  • Idea??

Dear community, remote diagnostics are always difficult – but maybe someone has an idea? For about 6 months, my 2.3 t (125 KW, approx. 180,000 km) has been accompanied by the sometimes occurring phenomenon that short delays occur during acceleration on a distance of approx. 2800 to 3000 UPM, as if “air” were in the fuel line. Does not pass or happen. No matter what external temperatures. Then rest is again and the engine turns up without any problems. he the “lights”: Missing error messages in the memory: also missing. Before I fall on the alarm again my request here. Greetings Jazzer2004

  • Deer radiator grilled again shaked off

Hi friends, about 13 months ago I already had the topic once and now again. The grill does not seem to like Speed > 240, although the middle, main grill at that time at my request from the friendly around the corner, was glued in extra strong. Now the warranty for this repair should actually apply, because that part does not hold even two years, surely not be! In a first phone call the Opel master, in the absence of the Saab-Opel master, wanted nothing d To say, except that there’s no way. Who has such a part driving around and what do you think about the issue of warranty? Wolf

  • Check engine again

A few months ago I read out the illuminated Check Engine lamp from the ADAC and had it deleted. The error message was somehow as precise as the Oracle of Delphi. Then I had some rest. Until about 6 weeks ago. To the Saab-Opel nearby. Also let read out, similar precise error message from Kat to anything else. Since shortly afterwards the 150000 km inspection, wanted/should be looked after. Of course nothing found. In the meantime the 7 years old battery has to give up the mind. New battery bought. If that somehow has to do with this lamp. Just for the info. For a few days this stupid part lights up again! Machine runs smoothly. Consider if I should stick this lamp off, so that it doesn’t always remind me that there is something that shouldn’t be. Mine, that the forge actually somehow, if something serious, should have found that during the inspection. Or I’m a bit helpless. delete memory and wait for tea or what? Greetings on all sides Wolf

  • Total failure Please help

Hello dear community, I’m new here and unfortunately bring a big problem with…. My car Saab 9-5 Built 2000 2.3T Limousine suffered from the trunk cable break, which ensures that the tailgate could not open electrically, as was the return light without function. The cables were reasonably extended and insulated -> now the trunk is in full function. The fuse for the return light (15th strength) has flown, this I had replaced. A short time later it is wi now I have the big problem…. BLINKER, SCHEIBENWISHER, ALL FENSTER HEHBER, STECKDOSE 12V, TEMPOMAT and SPIEGEL are without function!! The flashers work on warning flashing light or when open and close only when blinking not…… The car has no error message, all other few consumers work (radio, climate and standing light, dipped light etc…. A new fuse for the return driving lights f but is NOT out anymore and all other fuses are complete (pulled and checked for break) Do I now have a control unit, which is responsible for the components killed? I ask for your help, Google is helpless and I am now too.. … I would like to thank anyone who reads this and can help me Greet Alex

  • Saab 9-5 LPT cooling water problem?

Hello guys, I am proud owner of a Saab 9-5 2.3 LPT Kombi, BJ 2001 with at the time 197`000km. It is not special equipment, handshifting, and velour seats. Nevertheless, I find the ride comfort and generally the Kombi itself great! I need the Saab daily for the work path, i.e. 40 back and 40km. Live in Switzerland, and also my driving style is rather “quiet” than hectic, should be hot is never really driven over 3-4ts tours, max 140 km/h. Service are from the front I have now made a service again, after exactly 10`000km, incl. oil + filter, all liquids incl. cooling liquid. So far so good. My problem: I drive the car to work, all good, the SID indicates in the CHECK “OK”. Cars park in the morning, in the evening car, and see here, the SID shows “control cooling liquid”. So hood, and the cooling liquid is really about 1cm below r brand, so I bought for the tank, coolant, lid on, and suddenly a rush and bubble and the cooling water is on the mark again! Car started again, SID says, everything OK! I have had this already about 2 -3 times! I see no loss, also no oil in the cooling water, no suspicious smoke developments from the exhaust. The temperature display of the cooling water is always marginal over the middle, but remains there how nailed! Does anyone know the problem? My opinion na The pressure in the system will not “let off”. I’ve already read a lot, could it possibly be the cooling water cover? I’m perplexed, I hope it’s not the ZKD! Thank you for your efforts, gruss KAE

  • Saab 9-5 (Benzin 2.3t, 2004): Starter runs, but petrol punch does not respond

Good evening on all sides, I have the following problem: The Saab no longer starts. On the last trip the airbag warning light went on. At the same time the display of the air conditioner only indicated a digit on the left and right, and after a while the SID gasped the stored data (shown only three strokes instead of the average consumption). Furthermore, when the flasher was activated, the relay-cracker noise did not sound; but the turn signal itself did at least. The starter reacted, but the engine didn’t jump any more. The battery is new and has enough juice. The called breakdown helper could not do anything; the petrol pump does not supply fuel, but seems to be ok. The control unit could not be read out, the fault memory was empty. If you waited a long time and then tried a start, the engine jumped on briefly and went off immediately; the next attempt he jumped but nic The fan didn’t go out afterwards. The fuses are all ok. A few weeks ago I had start problems and a short-term illuminated airbag warning light as well as the running fan, which once even over the weekend sucked the battery empty. But that went away by itself. I had pushed it to the very cold temperatures… First forum search results indicate the possibility that the crankshaft sensor might be defective; but that’s all. cheaply little obvious… Maybe the ignition cassette? Before it actually ran round… Maybe someone here already had the error picture. Thank you in advance!

  • Air conditioning no longer works!

The air conditioning does not work. Despite recalibration, error code 0, the system does not cool. ACC shows the set temperature, (r/l 21 degrees), also wants to cool accordingly, i.e. blows and blows, but no cool air. Was about 8 days ago at Hirsch, who also replaced the pulley for the poly-V belt, because of strange noises, before they installed new brake discs and pads for my deer. Since the weather did not require air conditioning cooling, it could be that from this time the climate compressor, because maybe a power cable slipped off or so, does not get any more power and therefore can not cool? I mean, that the compressor is usually more clearly heard than at present! The fuse no. 20, has been checked. Is there any more special fuse for the compressor or is it possible that the compressor suddenly and completely fails? Greetings Wolf, to all and especially to all the answerers, from the Palatinate!
