  • New Saab 9-5 – The Decline of Saab ?

Hello , I have now taken a closer look at the new 9-5, as I am about to change the car. Although I am also a Saab fan, I have to admit objectively that this vehicle will not find many buyers. And whether this will strengthen the future of the brand is left behind. My impressions are the following: I have looked at the Aero 2.8 V6 XWD. 1. The price With full equipment just over 66,000 euros!!! You can argue about it. If I think about it, I have the Aero 2.8 V6 XWD. 1. The price With full equipment just over 66,000 euros!!! In 2003, my Troll R also cost just under 65,000 euros. But the Troll was then state of the art, respectively its time in some things ahead. 2. Engine / transmission The 2.8 V6 from GM is about developmental status eight years ago !!! The 6-speed automatic transmission is from the MY 04, i.e. also at least six years old !!! Other manufacturers in this price segment offer at least 6/7 gear double clutch transmission or 8-speed automatic transmission. 3. Consumption 16.7 liters innerorts ??? As for example the new Mercedes CL 63 AMG with 6.2 liter cylinder capacity, V8, has just 17.9 liters !! A BMW 335i also significantly less with similar weight. Whether a head up display, two TFT screens will be enough to achieve good sales ?? I believe for the money or for 3000 more euros have other manufacturers like BMW,Mercedes,Audi, to offer the customer more “timelier” to. Alone the individuality for an outdated technology we do not impress many Saabians. But I hope the best for Saab.

  • Saab Kenwood Navigation Video Input

Has anyone ever bothered with the video input on the back of the Kenwood SVT-M700 screen? Supposedly you should be able to display any video source on the touch screen. The KVT-M700 has its own button with which you can switch between the different sources (Navi or video input), which is missing from the SVT-M700. Maybe you have to press a combination of the keys (if you press the DISPLAY button long the screen goes off). also a schematic for the SVT-M700, I get really smart from it but not with regard to switching between the different sources. On the block diagram you can see that a switch is intended (see VIN left top) Has someone ever experimented there? I think it would be really crazy to connect an ipod video with cover flow there, not everyone would have… 🙂 Thank you for your help!

  • Motor damage capital 95 3.0 TID

I’m new here and since I’m not really the car or Saab freak, I didn’t have a reason (also because of lack of major problems) to stop by here. Since the day before yesterday I have one: My good guy has decided to shoot a pleul at 170 things on the highway on the mountain to shoot through the crankcase. That’s why I have a really big problem now, and after reading pretty much everything here about 95, I think you can give me advice. But to the background: My 95er is a 2001 model (EZ12/01), nearly 67,000 km on the clock, and I was so far very satisfied, smaller and bigger racks were in the warranty period, otherwise a super car. And then the flood in Saxony 2002 spent the good thing a new (no used) engine, so that the engine has about 10000 km less down than the car, and I’ve always been exemplary to the service, this year to 60000. And then I can’t ask about normal faults of the engine-service. And now I’ve got a lot of fun to ask about it.

  • Tyre recommendation

Hello! I absolutely need a good tip for the tyre choice with my 99er 2.3 Kombi. The Firestones TZ 200 FS (215/55 R 16) make me completely porous. Wagging at 40 to 80 km/h and then shivering in the steering wheel … wonderful. All this after just under 20 TKm. Final storage on the silage hill is probably the only possibility. Which tyres should I try next? I would like to have some, which remain a little longer. Or should I just roll out my winter tires again. If summer tires give up so quickly, it certainly pays off! What are your experiences?

  • Damage to Saab vehicles by 3.

What has been damaged about my vehicle is no longer a “cow skin”. I am in despair. There is no more respect for foreign property in this world. Current example: I had the HP 18 inch rims installed in spring 2005. These rims are simply too conspicuous, I don’t count the aluminium valve lids that have been unscrewed at all. But in the end, I had 4 full small beer bottles made of glass, threaded from the outside into the rims. And that in a parking garage with video surveillance and Securitas!! Of course, I didn’t notice that when I left. In any case, it popped loudly, the bottles were shattered, and there was a large glass shard in the front left tyre. I had 4 voluptuous damage to my vehicle last year, and I wonder if other drivers of Saab vehicles also have to hit around with such problems. Actually Saab isn’t a profuse vehicle that pulls Mürg to Mürg?

  • 9-5 will be built in Rüsselsheim

Hello, I just ended up, now it’s getting serious, the 9-5 is being built in Germany! Further setback for Trollhättan Saab in Trollhättan The Saab car plant in Trollhättan has suffered another setback. As the European CEO of the parent company General Motors, Carl-Peter Forster, announced in Göteborg, the Saab model 9-5 is not being manufactured in Trollhättan, but probably in the German Opel plant in Rüsselsheim. The lower costs are the background at the German location. There the production of other Saab models is already being moved there. For the Trollhättan site, this means further production facilities. Whether and how many jobs are at risk is still unclear.

  • “Blossoms on the exterior mirror mount”

Hello first of all, I don’t know if the phenomenon is already well known. Yesterday I found that the plastic coating on the outer mirror holder of the passenger side (in the triangle mirror, disk, shaft strip) bulges clearly outwards – looks like a rusting. Since my aero NY04 mileage 72,000km the other mirror was completely changed as a result of a collision, the damage does not appear there. The same phenomenon should have long-term tester Matthias Retzer (aero same model year) dominated photographically with all the hardness.http://www.langzeittest.de/saab-9-5-kombi/berichte/2005/mai.php Does any of you have the same damage? Look at your mirror holders once exactly. Does this probably only concern the model year 2004? Best regards Sterling 95

  • A lot of people talk about Aero and Co…

I’m negotiating a Saab 2.2 TiD in black, which should easily take me many thousand kilometers a year from here to there. A lot of performance is cool and during the test drives with Saab and Volvo I’ve already liked the turbo engines. However, in Switzerland there is a speed limit of approx. 120 and overland on motorways we drive here 80Km/h… Reason says the small diesel with automatic transmission is enough and is also a great alternative to my current car in the 9-5. Of my old Polo, born 1982 – I think – not to talk about under 30 HP. What does your waiting say against it? Please no postings from the corner of the driving dynamics I will be travelling in Switzerland with Tacho max. 140 and will be looking for a 9-5 with uncomplicated inner life and almost all packages and packages that Saab offers! Can the 2.2 TiD serve as an underlay without any problems?

  • Soldering carts

Hello Klöterkarren owner, 4 days ago I enriched the municipality of the Klöterkarren drivers with a member. 9-5 3.0TiD Nordic Kombi, black. I hope that I can take something with me from your tips and experiences and maybe also here and there something. My first impression is simply “beautiful”, despite driving restraint. The first 500km highway mix with a cut of 8.1 l (max. speed 160 km/h), great driving feeling, very comfortable, practically no indoor noise, engine is still a bit noisy, but I hope that still settles down, also the consumption should go back a bit (?). Through Navi and sound system I still have to know through. How are your driving experiences, who has useful tips? Gruss saab2005

  • ? 9-5 last model, purchase advice

Hello, I had thought vaguely about getting one of the last 9-5 of 2011 or 2012. Generally asked: what should you pay attention to, which engines are recommended? I find the BioPower variant particularly interesting. Although it does not use anything in D (unless you refuel spirit or chimney ethanol), but with more frequent trips to France (or even to Sweden) then. Unfortunately, the models are only offered to – it seems to me – outrageously high prices. Despite about 7 years still mostly around 25,000 € at less than 100,000 km. The diesel is much cheaper. So what would be a recommendation here? Thank you.
