Hello all, I wish you all a happy, healthy and puncture-free new year. I am Saab newcomer, recently bought me a Saab 9000 2.3 Turbo CS BJ 1992. A great car, inside and outside perfectly maintained, no rust, stitching and a silk-soft running engine with automatic transmission. Yesterday evening lit up in the display CHECK OIL LEVEL. So to the next gas station, to measure oil level. The oil level was still short over MIN, so some oil was refilled, De The oil rod shows the stand exactly in the middle between MIN and MAX, so too much is not in it.The starter turned, but the engine didn’t jump any more. At a glance under the bonnet I found a hose that had loosened (see appendix), but nothing changed at the start. The pointer of the turbo indicator has been in the middle since then, even if the car is out. ADAC Mann jammed the battery to reset the on-board computer, since he suspected the error there, but did not bring anything, except that now lights up in the info display when starting ANTI LOCK. Can anyone explain this error? Thank you for your help. Christian

Red DI ignition box defective 🙁
Hello everybody, my 9K didn’t want to start today in the lunch break again, this morning it was still running perfectly! Battery is ok, starter is also turning, but doesn’t start. The immobilizer is fine, so it’s also off. Then we removed the red box and tested the ignition spark, but nothing came…so the thing was clear… 🙁 My friend has now given me his “Werkstatt Testbox” (in BLUE!) over the WE, because I need the car tomorrow. Reingestec kt, beggart, purring like a cat again! Well, but on Monday I have to leave “the blue one” again and then I stand stupidly there. Can’t afford me a new one right now, so the question to the members: Does any of you still have a good used and naturally working DI-box lying around, which he would sell me at a fair price? 🙂 Look forward to any offers and wish a nice weekend. Greetings, Jens

Cylinder head seal now finally defective???
a frustrated hello to the community! I already posted a few weeks ago regarding the thermostat housing and the cooling water loss! the housing I have meanwhile once sealed with holymare abe and seems to be ok! nothing however swallows my still water like crazy! was at the end of the week in the east and for the approx. 450km I poured about 4ltr water! CHECK RADIATOR was actually a constant companion! below the thermostat on the gearhouse e has also established itself again nice film cool water! when I just poured another swallow after, and sometimes smelled at the balance tank, I have the unmistakable smell of exhaust gases and sprite in the nose! can it be that I have now finally delivered the ZKD? some white smoke he does too and the empty run after the highway was also very swinging… so in the big and whole of a successful weekend ending… since I now have two weeks free it would be suitable for me the rep have luckily ever at the hand which would grind me the kopp within a day! where should I look for a ZKD set? directly at saab or are the other ones also usable? is there anything else I should do with the reperatur? control chain or something like that?? or do you still have constructive suggestions for me like the exhausts can come into the cool water?? gruss franz

Rugging in warm condition
Hi am freshly baked Saabfahrer. Drive Saab 9000 2.3 with 107 kw build year 1990. For a few days it is extremely in a warm condition. Lambda probe and NGK candles are new. When the car is cold it starts great and I can ride it normally warm. It runs then also great. The workshop had screwed in the Lambda probe change running Beru candles for Mercedes A-Class which were all 4 after a day totally black and smelled after petrol ( electrodes, ceramic body everything sc hwarz) and they found extreme misignitions. Now, as I said, the right NGK are in it. Did the car drive yesterday about 30 km out of cold condition everything great!!! Lief round could give in the stand really gas, without errors, could also turn on and off in warm condition, without errors. Then the car was warm about 10 minutes before the purchase hall and nothing went more. Idle between 800 and 2000 up and down and strong jerking when trying to get home. And now???? Di-Box??? Throttle flap??? Air mass meters??? Who can help???

9000CSE disks fogged at low temperature despite ACC
Hello to all, The ACC with my 9000CSE 2.0T has the following problem: Only about 8-9 weeks ago the workshop had broken a gasket and thus the air fluid leaked out, so that there was no cooling function. After the error in the workshop was removed and the climate cooled well again, the following error occurred (could not notice it before, of course, because it was still relatively warm): At low temperatures (from approx. +4°C the windows suddenly fog completely. ler appeared several times a few weeks ago, when it was cooler in the morning and again today. After switching on the defroster function it only got worse and then after 2-3 minutes better. The fog really goes ratzfatz within a few seconds, than more than an unsightly thing. I am grateful for every tip, especially if he shows a simple solution 🙂

Planned purchase of a 9000 already written off
Good morning.. I’ve re-registered here today to profit from your experiences and learn of course. As a background I specify a planned purchase of a 92er 9000 CD ?….. The vehicle is in a desolate state (optically seen) engine with its 250t kilometer running automatic switches all gears through…. Standby time about 1 year (more)…… I would call the color dark green, rust on the wheels but not through, the interesting Ver/Bemoosu ng give the old Swedes an idiosyncratic character…(Sorry)….. The equipment I would call complete : air conditioning automatic, e windows, seat heating, on-board computer (instead of the clock), leather…and more…. Let’s get to the problems : SRS light, on-board computer gets dark after about 10sec, driver door does not open, engine is grumpy (no oil change yet) climate does not work ( 134a) here and there is missing what (Tempomat ??) disk torn…..Check Engine registered at the ers my question now Is it worth the purchase Many greetings Axel

cylinder head gasket defective 🙁
Hello guys, I bought yesterday a saab 9000 2,3L 194 ps with beautiful equipment and 220tkm for 180 euro … he has received many repereatures … .. what I noticed to this day, is that the upper front engine bearing is defective, the sky hangs, and I think (I don’t know yet) that the sun roof does not close properly. well and the much discussed topic of head seal … which is defective with him … and a few questions 1.) I know many screwdrivers , a llerdings have the fear because of control chain and saab is new land for the young … is the fear justified or could an opel mechanic easily (saab tool) change the control chain ?????? 2.) the cooling water compensation tank is empty up to about 1 cm oil sludge… is that normal with a head seal harmful ???? and how do I get all “cool components clean again ???? 3.) there are different strengths in the seal ? 4.) where do I order the material best ??? look forward to training r expert advice … thank you in advance

SRS problem
Hello Saabfahrer, after repeatedly disconnecting and attaching the battery there is the following SRS problem with a Saab 9000 2.3 FPT, model and year 1995, after turning the ignition key into the position start SRS lights up for 4s, extinguishes 1s and lights up permanently afterwards. As can be read here several times in the forum, the error must be read and deleted by a Saab dealer. Nevertheless the following questions: 1. Can someone interpret the SRS problem due to the lighting? 2. Where will the SRS errors be physically splashed? In the motor control unit, in the SRS control unit, in the ABS control unit… or where else is the memory chip installed?? Thank you for any relevant note!

Cooler temperature?
Mojen together, the radiator temperature indicator in my 9000er (BJ 97, 2.3 Turbo) is supposed to settle in the “middle of the field” according to the manual. But with my Saab the needle hardly moves at all (max. 5 – 10 mm from the bottom to the top). That was already from the beginning, the dealer thinks it is OK, the car has now 90,000km on it. Does anyone know the problem, or is it none at all? The cooler fan still starts, by the way, if I stand for example long in the traffic jam. Thanks already

Oil loss, is there a tip?
Hello Saab friends, I am now also happy to listen to it. Because a few weeks ago I bought a Saab 9000 Aero 2.3 L Turbo with first registration in 1997. The car has now already about 247T km on the clock, that is as far as I know no problem. Previous owners are two pensioners I know both, otherwise I would never buy a car with such high mileage. The car is maintained until 2001 Saabscheckheft and has in Dec07 new brake scrub as well as new brake discs and cheeks (front I took a picture of what worries me: Image The oil loss is limited. I changed oil + filter over a year ago with the car and there is hardly any loss to be noticed until Dato. But it still worries me. How can I fix the error? Thank you for your help and a good safe slide into the new year!
