  • Y30DT (3.0TID) Engine clacks as if a hydropump was broken. Known problem?

Good evening, I drive a 3L V6 CDTI, but in the Vectra C. Since there are not quite as many problems in the forum as here, I prefer to ask right now in the Saab Forum. My 3.0CDTi is built in 2005, has now run 69TKM and with 40TKM already got a new high-pressure pump, at 65000KM it was broken again, but we only changed the two pressure control valves, that was enough. But for a few days the engine clacks clearly, as if a hydropump the Geis t, is this problem known with these “coal motors”? MFG ECOTEC

  • Check engine on test bench? Concerns???

Are there any disadvantages such as overloading or a check of the engine on the test bench to be feared? A patient who wanted to have his Harley tested on the test bench expressed corresponding doubts as to whether this is really so good! Reason given: am the days for a further training in South Tyrol and wants to visit the company Hirsch in St. Gallen via an East-West Alpine tour (Brixen, Merano, Chur) and have engine tested there on the 16th of July. And second question to the Swiss or other Alpine pass: Will either turn over the oven and then Flüelapass towards Chur or instead of Flüelapass over the Julierpass. Which one, Flüela or Julier. has more driving fun? Have fun and good ride on all sides! Kraxelwolf and Testwolf

  • Seductive Abbot Offer

Hello, I’ve been wrestling for a long time with the idea of a chip tuning. 1500 EURO plus installation, so incl. VAT 2320 EURO at Hirsch were just too expensive for a pure software solution. And then you also have “only” 250 HP in Viggen. Abbott Racing, one of the most long-standing tuning forgings for Saab, offers if you order by mid-March or a deposit makes now probably the chip tuning for all Saab models including installation and VAT (including VAT) for 399 GBP, i.e. 585 EURO, and that at 265 HP in the Viggen. As for exactly a quarter (!) of the Hirsch-Preis more achievement! Sure, with deer one goes on the safe way, but Abbot also has a very good reputation and is as well known as deer. What do you think about it? Another thing: The trip to Abbott to England is a long way, but I think about connecting the whole with a short trip. Besides, Switzerland is not closer to me. Gruss, Philip

  • Engine damage Saab 3.0 TiD

Hello, recently I am also the victim of the 3.0 TiD barrel lowering, year of construction 6/03, 78,000 km. In Bonn, however, I am probably the first one who does not get a Kulanz replacement engine. So far, it was the case that the customer has to pay only to a small extent. Now the new practice is that Saab Germany only increases 50% on the material costs, the rest should stay with me. (approx. 7.000,-€) On the other hand, I want to defend myself and need argumentative aids, addresses and information from other harmed persons. There is someone who is already struggling with the same problem. Who knows a lawyer who is working in this special area or who is already representing other clients in the matter. Every info is helpful.

  • Help – Check Engine Light

Hello everyone, so I find this forum really great, I also read various posts but unfortunately still found no answer to my problem. So I am 1 week Saabneuling and must say that it is a pleasure to move this vehicle, if not this “check engine” light would always go on and off. In the Saabwerkstatt it was told to me it would be the AGR valve, because the car was standing for a while. But I have cleaned this already 2 times and see w The “Check Engine” lamp always goes on and off, always at different intervals, whether the engine is warm or cold, sometimes for 10 minutes then again for 30 minutes. The performance is then also correspondingly bad, does not pull at all. I also replaced the vacuum hoses, what can it be ? HELP ! Data from the car : Saab 93, BJ 2000, 116000km, 2.2TID, YS3DF35, 116PS M.f.G.

  • TÜV and ASU new, but …

Hi finally had my deer demonstrated at the TÜV. Almost no probs, although I had some concerns about the ASU. Both plaques received. Everything in proper condition. Except for: engine/drive oil loss. However, I have never noticed, even in the deep or my home garage. What to think of such a finding. In my 9000er I had a clearer oil loss, even I have seen, but the TÜV at the time did not. Take seriously, ignore n, wipe off or simply control oil levels often or ???? Speaking of ASU: The CO value with 0.016 %Vol seems to me to be quite gratifying low. According to the note 0.30 %Vol. Otherwise all nice stress at Christmas Wolf

  • Saab develops engine for GM

Hello together… I read something interesting today…. Saab is developing an E85 ethanol engine for the entire GM group with a capacity of 1.6 liters and capacities between 125 and 200 hp. It is to be used for the first time in the new compact Saab in 2008 ???? madness….there it probably boils at Saab…Facelift 9-3 , compact model and finally the proof that Saab also develops and not only lets develop. Greetings Swedishmoose

  • Short speed rash at cold start

Since my last visit to the workshop, I noticed that my aero at the cold start (in the morning) the speed at the start of the engine jumps short to about 1200 tours and then back to about 850, the same happens at the first switching of P in the reverse gear. Later, however, the Phenomen does not appear any more. Do I have to think or just forget something now?

  • Cylinder block V6 TiD – grinding?

Hello guys, there might be some news about cylinder block at the V6 TiD. I spoke today to a friend who works in a special foundry. I told him about the V6 TiD that the bushings are lowering and that they become unusable from about five hundredths of a mm. He meant no problem, about the value of the block itself must be ground. He is a specialist for castings and is a vehicle engineer, and said that a material error is very unlikely. hr is supposed to be a technology error the reason for the lowering sockets. Then I have read everything that stands in the WIS for the V6 TiD. There it is expressly pointed out that “the grinding of cylinder block and cylinder head is not permissible. Nevertheless, see there, there are three different cylinder head seals for the same engine. These differ only in the thickness(!!!) of the seals. There are those with 1,15 1,20 and 1,25 mm thickness. These must be according to „Height of the piston My guess is that the returned cylinder blocks are simply sanded, which temporarily solves the problem. The three different thickness ZK seals seemed to reinforce my theory. What do you think? Toni

  • Who can help me ??Performance 95

I bought a Saab 95 deer a short time ago Bj 1999 with 280 Ps. With the vehicle of Hirsch and Heushmid refined with about 300 Ps I was on the test bench and had to find that the vehicle could have only 240 Ps. Now to my problem: I called Hirsch Peformance, because of an optimization on the vehicle. They told me that they can no longer do anything for older or also other converted Saab ́s from other companies e.g. Heushmid on the vehicle, w üden (however 🙁 ) I was thus quite kindly rejected…. Please tell me where I can still make my vehicle besides Hirsch & Heuschmid because of lack of performance. Thank you for your answers Suuper Forum !!
