Because of the oil deposits in the oil tank and at the sieve, I wanted to regularly cut the LM Motor Clean Up with the oil change (<=r10,000KM), which is supposed to solve deposits. According to the operating instructions, this should be added to the engine oil and then drained after 15 minutes with the used oil. Thought now, what an effect it would be possible to achieve, if you admit it to the oil and "let it stand" for 2-3 hours. Think the oil level in the Wan Is only the farge (or rather fear), which dissolves everything at once and then allows larger particles to be clogged up during the 15 minute period (note the conjunctive). My Saab Bude was also referring to the problem with the sieve.... She would only preemptively advise against the expansion of the oil tank. Only when the start of the process would it be possible to start with the oil tank. the engine is the well-known Brumm/Pfeiffton or when the cold start the oil pressure warning lamp takes longer and longer to go out.. Only then tub from time to time new sieve in.. Greeting and Dnake for your messages, Konstantin

Noise differences between 2.2 TID and 2.2 TID?
Moin, Moin! Drive for a few days my 2.2 TID Arc (show car / 22 tkm Built. 6.04) and have previously driven a 9-3 Coupe (Bj. 4.02/ from 0 to 127 tkm). Was and am satisfied with the Maschiene totaly BUT in the Coupe I NEVER heard the turbocharger (?) whistles. In the Sport-Limo. you hear this whistling in the lower and middle speed range. Is this normaly? Find the engine otherwise perfect… Greeting to all SAAB drivers – and especially to those with the 2.2 solder engine 😉 Dirk

Injection pump 3.0 TID
Hello dear Saab – municipality, have the following problem: a few days ago my 9-5 / 3.0 TID suddenly had no power after the start of the engine. From about 2000 rpm. the engine started to stutter and you could not give any more gas. I drove at the time the BAB, top speed about 90 – 100 km/h, nothing went over it. So down from the train to the country road. After about 60 km. Drive everything was normal again. On Thursday I drove then to my Saab workshop, there w The pressure of the injection pump was tested. This should normally transfer 60 bar, with mine it was only between 17 – 40 bar. Curiously everything worked again after leaving the workshop. As it looks like the injection pump is defective. Cost of installation approx. 2500,- €. My question is now: is the effort still worth for this engine ? moreover it needs for some time about 1.0 – 1.5 liter. cooling water on 2000 km. Cylinder head damage ?? Until the above time the Engine impeccable despite about 200 tkm. Inspections were all made. Many greetings eckhard123

3.0 TiD, bubbles in the cooling water tank
After the last long distance I observed the following when checking the oil level when looking at the cooling water compensation tank: On the cooling water a light foam crown swam. No oily foam, no lack of cooling water, no missing oil. After 2 days of usual “cuddly ride” the foam was gone and there are only occasionally light bubbles in the cooling water tank. I never noticed that. My blacksmith told me that some bubbles and foam were passing through we are allowed to be and are normal, as long as no cooling water is missing and no oil film floats on top of it. I somehow suspected the head seal, but then cooling water should have been missing. Water level is as always unchanged and also no abnormalities. Do I hear the fleas cough? What does it look like with your solder carts? Have ever had bubbles in the container? Stefan

Tuning at 9-5 2.2 tid
Hello to each other! I would have asked a question about “Motortuning of a 9-5 2.2 tid sports combi”: Has anyone already had experience with the performance increase package offered by Hirsch for just under 1,300 euros. What does this thing bring, among other things, in terms of real performance or fuel consumption or insurance? Thank you guys that you are there!! Have a nice evening Marcus

Which engine for the 9-3?
Hello, I intend to buy a Saab 9-3 and drive for a very long time. The most important criterion for me is the longevity (not power) of the engines. Which would advise him: the new 1.8 l petrol engine (without turbo), 1.9 tid with 120 hp or the 2.2l tid with 125 hp Thank you for your help!

Spark plugs for 2.0l eco turbo with SAAB tuningm, which??? and when to change??
Hey, short question to our Pro ́s here in the forum. I had the original SAAB engine control unit for my 2.0l eco turbo (with approx. 200hp) installed with new injection valves and spark plugs at my SAAB dealer before about 20Tsd Km. Now I wanted to ask: 1) when should the ZK be changed (interval?) 2) which are the best ones? The SAAB recommends (are the standard candles, ..I believe..) or is there Bosch or BERU ZK that are better (wherewith the question would be, what is the best? thanks and greetings from Berlin Konstantin

General question on (brain) Tuning
Hello Saab driver, I have had a Saab for some time now. Not that the engine would be too small, but such a proper HirschTuning for a birthday would not be bad. But I have not had the opportunity to inform about it lately (for the purpose of building a house). So my questions to the tuning experts among you: Can you install this control unit T7 yourself? Changes in the insurance classification of the vehicle? Has anyone ever done this with a 2.0 LPT with 150hp? We nn yes what was the result? (consumption, starting weakness, rideability…) If anyone else is interested, I have a 9-3, built 2001, 150hp, but am currently very satisfied with the feed constant of the Saab. BG Andreas PS: Have been reading the forum for some time and find it great
