  • Camwave sensor temporarily without function

Hello dear Saab community, on Saturday I was with my new acquisition from April, 900/II Cabrio BJ 95, 2,3 SE Automatic in the next SAAB center, because occasionally the engine is “smoothed” when I insert a driving stage. In addition, the idle speed varies sometimes, and the consumption of 11.5 – 12 liters without running air conditioning with restrained driving mode, mostly still over land, seems too high, according to what I read here. The error memory has stored above all diagnosis. As a vehicle I have a used car warranty (BMW dealer) , so far they had found nothing (allegedly?) but had hit an ASU as a test. With the search function I found nothing usable here in the forum. But the friendly Saab screwdriver made the impression that this was not unusual, unfortunately I was in time (and thought I had found more here). Is there the camshaft sensor in addition or instead of a crankshaft sensor? Think the error picture k Can fit. Does the engine management run into an emergency run program when the sensor fails? And automatically out when it returns? What may an exchange cost? Where does it sit exactly? I would like to mark it before I bring the car into the workshop. And with some background knowledge it negotiates more easily. Many questions. Think, few can answer. Bet, the hangover knows something about it; gell, Chris? Thank you and love! Jörg

  • V6 300 hp deer

Now I can officially report that Vadder Hirsch has drifted my to something more than 300 hp. And… you notice it. Don’t come at top speed… I don’t know and don’t try it either, because I had a race license, but I know where physics ends. But: the engine is much softer, speaks much faster and develops an incredible pass over the 4000 tours. I never have problems with spinning wheels (like the last few years). This is even without whistles. Together with the deer suspension, the car is very similar to the 4 Zyl 252 hp. Due to the higher weight, the gokart effect is slightly less… but from the handling point both are the same. The consumption has been reduced by a good hold litre. I get through with 10 liters. The V6 has more rubber band effect than the 4 Zyl. The 19 inches pay tribute to the comfort, but the road posture is unique. It drives like on rails. Surprisingly, I have clearly I can only recommend the gag. Greetings from the Sausmütz

  • Extended engine warranty

Hello together, Can anyone say in detail under what circumstances the extended engine warranty from Saab takes hold, or does not take hold?! As far as I know this factory warranty is extended to 8 years after all. Does this exclude second owner, does it use in principle if checkbook is possible? Specifically, I am concerned about this option with the currently available, well, upcoming engine damage on my 2000er 9-5 Aero. The purchase is only 4 weeks ago, however, the dealer locks itself despite warranty The thing will probably have to be decided before the end of the contract, but until something is decided, the first factory guarantee has finally expired. By the way, please give information about the dealer who would have earned a price for maximum deviation in the behavior before and after the contract. Thanks already for the information about the engine warranty. ck

  • Tuning 2.8L aero

Hello, when I see myself so on the net I do not see so many offers for this engine. Hirsch, BSR and a few chip tuners unknown to me. If I compare the prices between BSR and Hirsch as in most cases a par Euro. if I look at the performance however also, in a positive sense here for BSR. Does someone experience with the tuning from 2.8 aero? Greeting Michael

  • motortuning deer or others?

Hello! I’m new here and in the project my 9-5 with a chip tuning something to revive with great interest the unfortunately older contributions to the Hirsch Step 1. An article spoke of maptun as an ALternative. I found myself at http://www.partsforsaabs.com/bsr_ppc.php an extremely exciting thing, which runs without expansion of the ECU. Instead one gets a KISTE which is reprogrammed via the Tech2-connector(what is that) the ECU (called PPC). Abbott-Racing… What to take? What are advantages or disadvantages? Who has experience with HIRSCH, ABBOTT, MAPTUN and finally with this PPC system? A thousand thanks in advance.

  • 9-5 3.0 TiD is “sick”

Hello municipality! With my 3 liter diesel the check engine control light lit up the other day. Not further tragic, then was only a “wire problem”, which also did not cost too much. However, it was then determined with a engine check that the engine is “sick”. (That meant the workshop master ). On more precise demand (you must know after all, with which virus one has to deal with it) was then announced that the compression, which in a new car approx. 30 bar, with a vehicle with almost 200 000 km but still at least 25 bar should be, now only 20 bar. Can that be? Is that possible? Shouldn’t one somehow notice something about the performance or something like that? Or are these really the signs of a change engine? At the same time, the SAAB action was also proposed to me, whereby I would still get 18500,- € for the 3.0 TiD if I would buy a new SAAB for it. Do everything or really What do you think?

  • danger of motor damage – recommendations for action?

Dear saabians, there are already some trheats about the problem of motor damage as well as the extended warranty. however, it is not yet clear to me what you should do now. I drive the 205 ps engine of the aero from 2001, i.e. one of the problematic models. I bought the car with 26,000 km. until then an inspection with oil change had been carried out at approx. 10,000 km. which oil? no idea. then made a oil change at approx. 28,000 km, all but not a complete inspection, because according to saab, you carry out practically only sight checks. I needed ncith, because the car had just received a dekra quality seal. so everything was already checked. various filters etc. were then changed. ride since the mobile 1 0W40. next oil change was then made at about 45,000 km. now the car has about 55,000 km and I will change the oil from now on all 10,000 km. the question is now whether I b In the upcoming oil changes, let everything – especially the oil sieve – be checked. for this I would say that I drive a lot of short distance – every day 2x 3-4 km to work and only once again stretch longer. I already had the impression in a deep garage after the start, the car “winkles” at first quietly in front. maybe the whistle, which indicates clogged sieve? appears however only very rarely. normally you don’t hear anything abnormal and öll amp also goes off immediately after the start. does it make sense to remove the oil tub for control, especially since I will hardly receive any guarantee due to lack of inspection? thank you very much for your recommendations h.

  • Check Engine at Saab TiD 3.0

Hello Saabgemeinde, according to LiMa, Agr-Ventil, diesel pump now follows the next stroke (within 6 months). Perhaps one of you knows this problem….. During the undertouring acceleration (~1800 rpm) the “Check Engine” lamp starts. The error is stored in the control unit because I can not delete it by “battery disconnecting”. In the error memory (read out with Bosch) is then: altitude sensor, suction tube pressure sensor P0106. In this connection (??) I had last year at Übe At the highest point the car started to jerk – I gave it full throttle was the jerking away. On the Italian side then the miraculous healing: no more jerking…. On the way back in place (highest point) again the same problem. Saab on suspicion then changed the air quantity meter. Somehow I have the feeling that it could also be the AGR valve (had installed a used one a few months ago. Thanks already in advance for your feedback Bummerl

  • What oil?

Dear friends, what oil does our “infarct-endangered” 9-3er/9-5er engines get best? As I read here, it should be a synthetic best quality. These include according to my “sortiment research” Shell helix ultra and Mobil 1, respectively than 0W-40. However, the Shell product is considerably more expensive than the Mobil 1. Is it also so much better and do the Saab machines actually need it for a realistic (over)life chance? Or doesn’t it also do Mobile 1? What do the experts mean? I’m curious. Viggo Saabquist

  • Tuned Saabs everything that drives

Hello dear community who drives everything made saabs with or without deer or even individually mixed with other tuners how much PERFORMANCE,DREHMOMENT and various engine parts and how long can you drive with maximum mature saabs or you still drive…………. many thanks
