  • 500c, brake discs down after 50tkm?

    The Luigi of my wife is just for a 4-year inspection in the workshop. That the brake pads have to be new in the back was clear to me. But now the workshop says that the windows in the back also have to be new!? And the whole fun (inspection plus brakes in the back complete) should cost about 1,000€ (without TÜV mind). Of all other vehicles I know this actually so that one can drive with a set of disks 2 sets of pads. And that the discs hold 100-120tkm, at the back rather longer. I’ve asked you to keep the windows and present them to me tomorrow. I’m curious to see how they come to 1,000€. The windows and coverings are very cheap for the 500’er (<100€), even branded goods (Brembo et al.). Greetings Tom

  • Fiat Ducato air conditioning – current maintenance costs against re-initiation costs after many years

    When buying a motor home based on Fiat Ducato Maxi, Bj 2019, I was forced to use a manual air conditioning system (on the engine). This so-called air conditioning system is nothing more than a cold compressor operated by the running engine. I don’t need the cooling. I had 30 years of my old Hymermobil based on Peugeot J5, Bj 1989. I didn’t sell this spare parts mainly because of the fear. axi, Bj 2019 I will drive until I can’t anymore. As I’m probably older than 30 years, but hopefully many more years. My idea is to remove the drive belt from the engine to the cold compressor and thus put the air conditioning out of function. I know that almost everything that is not used for a long time is broken by the long non-use. Note: Usually a camper stands around most of the time and is only possible on a few days of the year. With me (without Corona!) about 10,000 km a year. I am aware that a Fiat Ducato with defective “air conditioning” is not available for sale or only at a lower price. So I have to compare the costs of the necessary maintenance and “as well as the related repair costs with the “repair costs” after many years of absolute standstill. If someone has experience of the costs of the necessary maintenance and “as well as the resulting costs of repair”. I am aware that such costs are either an individual case or an average value for experience. What would be the cost of a “reinstatement” (reinitiation) after 15 years (after today’s prices)?   • Fiat Ducato Windscreen wiper spins

    Servus, my Fiat Ducato 250 box van with 160 Multijet engine has a problem with the windscreen wiper. No matter what weather, when I turn on the windscreen wiper, it sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t. Often it is that when it runs from the very beginning, it suddenly fails. I then turned around at the control lever and so on, but it didn’t work. That’s why I let the lever on level three until sometime after a few minutes of the windscreen wiper starts to wipe. To say in summary that if the wiper works, I can choose all the steps. The engine also runs when it runs but I really don’t know what it is that the wiper often doesn’t work. Had jmd this problem and can tell me if it’s on the engine or relay, or k.a what?

  • Fiat Ducato 280

    Hello, we bought a Duc 280 as a camper a few weeks ago. Did everything without any problems. Only a brake lamp at the rear right was defect, so back tail light off and new bulb in, on the left side also immediately changed the bulb, lights again on and then when braking and blinking left flashed then the indicator lamp for fog lamp in the blinker clock and indicator in the rear flashing out and brake light flashed. Right side everything normal. So lamp at the back off, and the problem was strangely fixed. Then did a tour, on the way back blower failed. But don’t find the connection where I could measure what is broken there. And since a few days the control light for the passing light does not work anymore, however, all the headlights are on when I turn on, the instrument lighting no longer works as well. Light bulbs in the speedometer unit are all ok. What could that be again? Does he have some kind of electrical problem?

  • DS7 E-Tense electric range experience

    Hello, I have been driving the DS7 plugin hybrid since March. How are your experiences with the range? I had in the summer as shown range always 42/44km with 100% battery, meanwhile this is currently only 22/24 km, although it is not yet so cold. Today are 10 degrees outside temperature, just completely of 0% fully charged. 11.6kw charge according to charging station app, displayed range 22km. Interestingly, I can always charge max. 11.6kw, the rest (2kw) seems to be reserve, that the battery ni e is completely empty. Heating is always on 21 degrees / AC car with me. Vehicle is standing outdoors. I find the range disappointing, far away from the advertised 54 km. That an e-car battery loses 30% of power in winter, is well known, but really winter is not yet. At the dealer’s ask, with whose vehicles this is currently well under 30km. What are your experiences? Greetings Martin

    Hello. I have here a Punto 1.2 8v 60ps Bj 12003 It runs in idle run quite unevenly When driving it dwindles from time to time but above the 2,000 revolutions it goes quite well to drive. Now I took down the air filter box and the spark plug plugs were plugged off I could determine that in the first cylinder was installed other candle than in the other 3 Add to this also the on the 3rd cylinder a different ignition cable plug. I have now ordered new candles and cables Kön could that be the solution? On the 3rd cylinder a cable with a long shaft was plugged on it. On the other cable were on it with a short shaft. Mfg

  • Fiat Punto Cooling – at the edge of desperation

    Hello, I’m in despair… For weeks I’ve been trying to solve the problem on the GP 1.2 8V without any climate in vain. It started at some point with the vehicle being overheated and under pressure, a plastic connector on the thermostat gave in so first thermostat and temperature sensor switched to thoughtfully – ventilated motor running warm, see there nothing goes on – upper cooler hose for the small circuit is hot the lower remains cold fan jumps despite own temperature not on, so pull off relays and quickly starts with a cable ”bridge” fan?? Relay then I switched, believe with that of the ignition works – at least the ignition. Temperature sensor is apparently OK, if the temperature indicator in the BC changes and displays realistic values. Heating works, so WaPu is also OK or not? fuses are also all in order. I really don’t know what I could/should/must look for, if about decisive and above all fast tips grateful, stand with the laptop at the car and am just extremely confused.. LG
