Hi, I recently disassembled my driver’s door at Mondeo MK2. It’s a combination BNP and now I wanted to know if the doors of the MK1 are identical to the MK2 because the 2 has only a different front if I see it like that. Since I can’t get to a green door for the MK2 as cheap as possible in the environment I would find it with a MK1 door. Thanks for the answers.

Brakes and warranty?
Hello, have my Mondeo tournament now almost a week. Is a used with 49500km BJ. 2001. I now have the sorry problem that my brakes (back) start to squeak. Stop then mostly and drive a little bit back and brake. Helps in most cases for a certain time. Here in the forum I read that there is a TIS for this. My question is how to behave now. I have concluded an annual guarantee with the dealer via the BVFK (Bundesverwaltung) I have to call the dealer directly. Have the car not yet a week and would (if it is possible) threaten to kick him back from the delay because this is a hidden defect. Driving is unfortunately difficult because the dealer is located 250km away. Or is it better to drive to a local Ford dealer and analyze the problem more closely? Or just call the BVFK directly? Please give me some advice, I’m pretty sure you’ll find the right answer. Unfortunately, a repair at my expense is out of the question this month.

Scorpio sure?!
Hello everyone, I am a total fan of the Scorpio model series. My father has a 89er 2.9er with autonmatic transmission… just super comfortable… THE CRUISER! I drive (still) a 93er Escort, also without probs, but I would like to have a Scorpio, preferred model before 1995, but also the last one would be in question… However, my girlfriend places value on safety, has bought a Focus with side airbags, especially the good results in crash test, as well used car tests etc. . Now I think a lot of Scorpio, I also (despite my only 23 years) have the presentation folder of 1985 here, in it is something of computer-calculated knauchzone etc.. But now I ask myself (also to convince possibly) how sure a Scorpio is compared to other models of this time (and more current) … I am still to convince of the “normal” airbags, therefore I turn above all to the drivers of the Scorpios MK1 with airbags, but also all others, which possibly . already had an accident or similar with a big Ford. Maybe you have experiences (of which I think anyway more than of possibly sponsored (crash) tests) in this regard with the Scorpio… Many greetings and thanks for your answers!

Horror braking Mondeo – brake heavy and weak
Hello together. Had a scare customer this morning : I drive with approx. 60 km/h on the Aachen outer ring. Suddenly my friend calls “cautious care !!!” There I see already 2 huge milling edges on the road. About 3 cm deep… I step on the brake fully, but I needed a lot more strength than usual. I stepped on it as hard as I could, but I couldn’t stop in time. So we thundered at about 25 km/h over the edge. thanks to God nothing has gone aputt. There was nothing to feel about brake assistant. Okay, the mass inertia of the Mondeo is great, but that it slows so badly when it comes to it, I wouldn’t have thought. Have you ever had similar experiences?

40k inspection TDCi – thumb down !
Hello together. Today I was at the “dealer of my trust” and had the 40000-inspection carried out at my 2003 Mondeo TDCi. The following things should also be fixed: -dirty, very annoying noises from the pulleys in idle-running in the partial load range at 1800 rpm -rust bubbles at the rear left door -wind noises at driver’s door When picking up the big disillusionment : 225,56 Euro !! And then the service consultant : To the roaring: “The noise in idle k Ford is working on a solution. But I don’t know how long this will take.” To the rust bubbles: “door has to be removed and repainted”. I: “But the car is not 2 years old.” He: “That’s what happens….” To kick: “That’s normal. However, we still have a new software set up” (Ruggling, of course, still there) And the classic to the wind noises: “That’s state of the art at the Mondeo.” And in order to complete everything, a mechanic with his dirty coat has put himself in my light beige leather equipment… Conclusion: A lot of money paid, problems still there. So much for the competent workshop service Gruss WeKoe

Coating on door handles MK3
Hello, I have read here a long time ago in a thread that this funny coating on the inner door handles at the Mondeo MK3 replaces itself over time. It was also talked about that you can remove this coating when it has become unsightly. So, now it is known that the built-in plastic is quite scratch-sensitive. Now I wanted to ask how you got this coating down? I hope you understand what I mean. Greeting Bernhard

Cold-rolling controllers
Today I installed my cold running controller in my Mondeo MK 1. It was not that easy now. It was not as easy to install the temperature sensor as it is described. After I had dismantled the entire intake tract, I saw no way to get to the supply hose of the cooling water to the heating to install the temperature sensor there. Only after I had removed the complete air filter housing, I came to this hose. In order not to drain the cooling water I made 2 wooden strips each about 8 cm long and equipped with 9 mm holes at the ends, 2 bulges, with which I compressed the hose by means of 8 mm screws. Then I separated the hose and installed the temperature sensor there. The workshop has special pliers for this. The connection and the installation of the air hoses was then however a child’s play and was done in a few minutes. After I had assembled everything again and I started the cold engine e, the speed was increased by the KLR very slightly more than before. After I drove the engine warm, I had to find that when I went off the gas, the speed went below the 900 rpm and the engine sawed. After slightly giving gas it then went to normal speed. This repeated several times. What can be done there at the KLR and how and where ? Try it again tomorrow in normal driving mode. Will anyway tomorrow to the KÜS and the installation inspect and confirm Then immediately to the registration office for the re-encryption. I received from the tax office the new decision for 2005 for the car tax (without re-encryption), the increase is quite happy. Now it becomes cheaper by the classification in Euro 2 as now. Greetings, Norbert

Daytime running light / day light
Hello! With us in Austria it is soon mandatory to drive with light on the day. No problem for me, since I have always managed it this way. But now there are some cars, which do not require the constant turn-up and turn-off of the light. If you take off the key, the light also goes off. At the next start the light burns again. Can you retrofit such a system with the Mondeo 2,5 V6 Traveller 07/2001? Thank you for your help! lg, Steves

Mondeo TDCi Automatic – what can you consume?
Mondeo TDCi automatic – what can you consume? Hi, I’d like to know what your Mondeo (TDCi, 130hp, with or without automatic) consumes. Please indicate which routes you are driving. I’m going to start with: average: approx. 9l (40% city / 60% city highway) at a constant 160km/h: 8.2l country road at an average 90km/h: approx. 6l full speed: approx. 10 to 11l This coincides roughly with the factory specifications. I’m just surprised that in all possible forums I always have something between 6 ,5 and 7.5 liters read. How is that? Only highway without automatic? Now it’s your turn…
